Today, calls to declare a state of emergency on the streets of San Francisco. And it comes as we are getting new information about a deadly crash in the city that killed one person and critically injured another. We stopped the video right before the crash. 39yearold Benjamin Dean of clovis died. His wife kelly dean was seriously injured. The driver of the tesla 21year Kelsey Cambridge of vallejo. She faces charges of manslaughter and running a red light. San frrian safety groups like walk sf and the Bicycle Coalition are demanding stricter enforcement of traffic here in the city. As well as other safety changes. We need bold action. We need speed safety cameras. We need to increase the number of red light cameras. We need sfpd to meet their target for 50 of their citations being for the most deadly traffic behaviors. Safety advocates point out there have been two pedestrian deaths in the past week. Last thursday, a 54yearold man was struck and killed while walking across the street. A few blocks away from here. He was hit by a big rig, and dragged for a few blocks and later died. Thats why walk sf and the Bicycle Coalition. Other Safety Advocates are calling on city leaders to call a state of emergency when it comes to Traffic Safety here in the city. Happening today, the Trump Administration making another big change in its immigration policy. Starting today. Immigration officials and agents can fast track deportations for even more people than before. This is another controversial decision from the Trump Administration. Officials say this is proprietary of their decision to, quote, address the ongoing crisis at the southern border. We understand that starting today, immigration officials are going to be given the authority to deport migrants, without allowing them to appear before immigration judges. The acting Homeland Security director says these expedited removals will free up beds in Detention Centers and reduce a backlog of more than 900,000 cases in immigration courts which really can take years to resolve. This change is going to apply to any undocumented immigrant who has been in the country less than two years. And its something that previously only applied to people who were caught immediately after crossing the u. S. Mexico border. This change comes a week after the administration said, it would deny asylum to anyone who would pass their country, without seeking protections in at least one of those countries. First, in fact, theres degree to be a hearing tomorrow in San Francisco on one of these cases. Its very similar to this. And also, this morning. Were hearing from i. C. E. They sent out a tweet, saying theyve made 934 arrests nationwide. And targeted almost 3,000 employers for inspection of a work site immigration violations. Were expecting to learn more about these recent enforcement numbers in the coming hour. But going back to those fast track deportation numbers. This is something they say is a dangerous move. And a woman died in livermore yesterday morning, when her car was hit by an ace train. That happened in livermore, where police say the crossing signals and lights were working. Now, the messenger kids app was developed in 2017, designed to allow children to only chat with people their parent or guardian approved through the app. But facebook sent messages to thousands of users, informing them of group chats that included unauthorized friends. The chats included people that were parentapproved for the person who started cessarily fo now able to talk to each other in the group.
