Reporter they say this is a fatal crash and it was something that was possibly unavoidable at this point. And sadly the motorcyclist did pass away. I will say in the last four minutes, the five lanes of 880 have just reopened i want to say maybe 8 50 am. The motorcyclist turned away and been dealing started to reopen. If youre heading southbound on interstate 880 through heyward now the five lanes are open but the backup has extended. Take a look at the pictures we were able to capture as we got on scene about 8 45 am. We can see the motorcycle down the road right before it was being towed. Chp said this started around 6 20 am. The motorcyclist was lane splitting between lanes when and 2. And somehow began lane splitting between lanes two and three when the motorcyclist crashed into the back of a pickup truck and then flew off the bike. The motorcyclist was putting lanes and number one in two lanes. And he started to split lanes number 2 3 lanes. Thats when he collided into the rear of a pickup truck. The collision caused him to be ejected from his motorcycle. And he was almost immediately struck by at least one or two vehicles. And he ended up succumbing to his injuries he suffered from being struck by vehicles. Reporter the chp says all of the cars involved stayed on scene and cooperating with the investigators. They also say, it took several hours to get all of the squid out. They slowly opened one lane and then they open two to three lanes and within the last five minutes, they have opened all five lanes. The backup from the crash has extended well into san leandro park when we were coming southbound, it was backed up into the san lorenzo area backup to the 283 interchange. Be aware there is residual delays from the crash. The chp says the Coroners Office will be releasing the name and identity of the person. We know is the motorcycle died after splitting lanes and crashing into the back of a truck when he flew off the bike and was hit by at least one car. Live a were ktvu fox 2 news. A 16yearold and 12yearold were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds. The others were treated and released. Police are going through Surveillance Video from inside the and from bart. Is it starkly because they are now printing the census forms. Is it just a matter of it will be a lengthy battle and we cant get park it cant be done. Not only do you have the time problem. We have the constitution to deal with. Its as clears can be. It has to happen next year. Theres a statute that says the official date is april 1. And we have billion a half pieces of paper to print and get distributed. Theres this and warmest time crunch. And number two, what is the new reason going to be . The chief justice of the United States, the majority of the Supreme Court, said the current reason was contrived and cheap Justice Roberts had any number of other reason saying it was alive. What is the new reason going to be and how will you get to the process . It was just impossible. The president , in this case, he can say what he wants to say. The census is moving forward. Adding a question could of had profound implications for american politics. Not adding it would have profound indications . The goal of the census is to get exact enumeration of everybody in the country as possible. The reason why this is so important. Not only do we assess how many representatives will be in each state. We could lose a member of the house of representatives. That is number one. Number two, distribution of money. A lot of money is distributed across the country according to the formulas based on the census. 900 alien dollars in 2016 was distributed according to this. A lot of money. The third, the question of how that would be allocation for state legislatures. This enormous amount of sick. The senses can certainly in other ways get citizenship information. But the research of the Census Bureau was absolutely clear. Putting it on the census forms would dissuade people from being counted. And the goal is counting persons. I am courting the constitution. Not citizens. Persons. There other ways to count citizens and thats fine to collect that. The problem with the administrations approach, they didnt have a good reason to put it on the census forms and they still dont. What are the political ramifications in states such as ours . Texas, new york, have high numbers of undocumented immigrants . Is this considered a win for the democrats . Lets say its a win for the American People because its a win for the constitution. The constitution says, persons put the fallout from that is it a defeat for republicans . The president seems to be taking it as such. Its a defeat that what appears to been underlying was an attempt by republican strategist. One of whom was called the michelangelo of republican gerrymandering, to get an unfair advantage in terms of redistricting Going Forward for the next decade. So if the republicans have lost an unfair advantage, i suppose if its a zerosum game, you can see its a win from. But say its a win for the constitution and a win of the American People. What we need with this process is as accurate account as possible. That is the goal. That is what we need to do. The controversy stirred fear of retribution among immigrants who said they would avoid the census form. Even with this decision. I wonder if that will still happen. I wonder if there immigrants worlds this avoid the census altogether despite the question not being there . That could well be the case. If the goal was to create an undercount of undocumented people and particularly nonwhite people, that work may have already been done. The rumors will bite out there and to say dont worry, is not on there and dont worry. Because what happens, if you dont fill out the paper forms, census workers will come and look for you. If you are afraid to check a box on a piece of paper and mail it in. You are certainly not going to welcome with open arms when they come knocking on the door saying im from the government unable to ask you questions. Police say about 6 15 am, the motorcyclist was splitting lanes just south of tennyson road. He at the back of a pickup truck the cyclist was knocked into the air and hit by at least one other car. Traffic was really jammed in the area until about 30 minutes ago. Thats when the lanes finally cleared. Because of the crash is still under investigation. I hear some people say i dont like strawberry shortcake. They are crazy. They are. You can do a lot with strawberry short. It is and always have to be like the angel food cake. The yellow hockey pox. It can be a little dry. Make it at home. It doesnt take very long and for the most part you are dealing with pantry ingredients. If youre like me and you keep having cream in your pantry, you have to go to the store. You can use that to make whipped cream. Thing i love about strawberry shortcake, you can actually grow your own strawberries at home. I do a lot, but i dont do that. Super easy. You can grow them in shader on the windowsill. You can do like i have here in the terracotta container. You can do them shallow. And one of those pantry boxes. Can put them in the ground. They will spread. If you put them in your backyard in the grant, anticipate the next year, you will have a lot of strawberry plants. Of lungs you have little fingers to pick them, you are in a good place. This is the first time i went to the Farmers Market and bought a big box of strawberries. Thats my number one purchase in the bay area. We love and we get big boxes. Even though we picked them at home, we cant get enough. Lets talk about strawberry shortcake. Those yellow hockey puck things. What you made here is essentially a swedish biscuit or a scone. Yes. We are going scone out. I find those tend to be more flaky and with better and dairy. A little richer and it makes it feel like a tree. Thats what this is. Lets get started. We combine two cups of flour, five tablespoons of chilled butter, and then you have one cup of heavy cream. Hold onto that for second. Then you have a tablespoon of baking powder, three tablespoons of granulated sugar and half a teaspoon of sea salt. Does get your hands in there and worked pitcher just like at home. Couples butter pieces. Then you have a nice crumbly dough. I have pastry cutters and it never does the trick like hands to put hands are your best tool and. Gif. To skip out in and working. You cut them and bake them at 325 degrees. They are supposed to be about that that. The better creates steam. It helps the leavening agent which is the beginning part of the hip a hot oven, the better will melt and you will create the steam and they will puff up like that. The most important thing, before you start thats is you start cut the strawberries. A little do a little bit of sugar. If you want to do that, i recommend it especially if you get the ones from the grocery server they tend to not be very right. A little bit of sugar and balsamic vinegar. This a pinch of black pepper put to bring out all of the flavors. Cut them up and stick them in e refrigerator until youre ready to serve we serve this with vanilla bean whipped cream.
