The Security Guard made his rounds, came back and that car had slammed into the building. What they think is the driver may have woken up, turned on the car, possibly tried to reverse, went forward and crashed. It shows the pickup truck about halfway inside of the building. Police made contact with the driver but he was passed out on the steering wheel. He still had his foot pressed down an the gas pedal. There was a lot of force behind this crash taking down about eight feet of large windows that also served as walls. Theres broken glass all over the sidewalk. Crews have been up here all morning sweeping up broken glass. Police identified the driver as Alejandro Mendez va len see yow. They hope to have it back open today. The crash took out some windows but luckily did not take down support beams. Investigators said a man wanted for a deadly freeway shooting was shot and killed by park ranges in big sur.
