Police in morgan hill worked overnight and into this morning investigating a deadly shooting athe a car dealership where three people were killed. It happened at the Ford Store Morgan Hill dealership just off highway 101 at east dunn avenue. Reports of shots fired came in at 6 00 last night. The police found one man dead with the gun still in his hand and Police Believe he is the shooter that killed two other people. Workers at that dealership say just hours earlier, the gun man had been fired and the two other shooting victims were managers at the dealership. One woman whose father works there told us she was terrified about what she might find when she heard about it. Shooken up and angry it happened and, yeah, when i heard i was really scared because i thought my dad was dead. It turns out her father was not one of the shooting victims. Were still waiting for more information that is expected later today. Tonight democratic president ial candidates will face off in miami in the first debate of the 2020 election cycle. Senator Elizabeth Warren leads the first half of the debate. Including cory booker and former congressman beto orourke. Several debate watch parties are being held tonight. The indivisible east bay chapter is holding a watch party at the rialto cinema. And the Tri Valley Democratic Club is holding one. Today is day 1 on the job for the new White House Press secretary. She will be traveling to asia today for the g20 summit. She previously worked as spokeswoman for first lady lady m milania trump. It rickets federal employees from engaging in partisan political activities. Earlier this month the office of the special counsel found conway committed egregious by dispaerjing president ial candidates. Former special Counsel Robert Mueller will testify on capitol hill next month. The leaders of the house judiciary and Intelligence Committee say mueller agreed to appear before both panels july 17th. A Spokes Person for uber says omari was removed from the app when that incident was reported. People are responding to a video thats being described as an act of cruelty. A man dumping a bucket of water on a homeless woman on the street below. Now the man who recorded the video says it actually happened twice around noon on sunday. He tweeted this and it is getting a lot of reaction online and in the neighborhood. Thats not the right to treat a human being. I couldnt believe somebody would do Something Like that. Its so inhumane. Now people on twitter are offering a reward for information to identify the man responsible. The woman who had the water dumped on has not filed a complaint but they do say if the man responsible is caught he could face charges of battery. Sacramento bee reports debt holders want to rebrand pacific gas and electric as Golden State Power light and gas company. That plan also calls for pg e to set aside 18 billion to pay claims on the 2017 and 2018 wild fires caused by pg e equipment. Theyre considering all options. Pg e filed for bankruptcy in january citing billions of dollars in liabilities from wild fires. San francisco will become the first u. S. City to ban the sale of vaping and ecigarette products. San francisco voted unanimously. The popularity of vaping has soared among young people in particular. Some Business Owners say the ban will put them out of business. As you know Companies Like juul ecigarettes have increased nicotine use in children middle schoolaged. Employees are going to be on the unemployment line unless i can figure out a way to keep them on and come up with a Business Plan quickly. The ban is expected to go into effect in 6 months. Juul labs says it is opposed to youth vaping but the ban will leave regular cigarettes as the only option for smokers. A valid that would ban ecigarette sales. Time is now 4 08. A Sacramento Police officers father is speaking out and defending the police department. We are here today due to the negative and misleading and hurtful information that has been spread about our Sacramento Police department and family. Officer Tara Osullivan was shot and killed june 19th on a Domestic Violence call. She and three other officers were ambushed by the shooting suspect. It took at least 45 minutes for anybody to get to her. Her father doesnt blame the sacramento blpd for the death of his daughter. We also know that beyond certainty what happened on june 19th falls squarely on one individual. The notion that anyone in the Sacramento Police department is responsible for this senseless murder or tara is extremely offensive and hardful. Now the suspect in the case has been charged with murder. The funeral is scheduled for tomorrow for miss osullivan at bay side church. A second will be held in rockland. Both services are open to the public. Right now its 4 10 and there are more problems with the Oakland Unified School district. Why the district is failing thousands of students. I dont want another student. People dont want to see potentially offensive images. A decisions been made about the fate of a Controversial High School Mural thats been called racist and historic. And will prepare a formal response. Accuses the School District of failing its 36,000 students. Problems include miss management. Favoritism. And the lack of accountability. Oakland unified is also wasting million officer dollars in construction projects. 9 were halted because of overspending. Fremont high school was 51 million over budget. It isnt like you can point to one thing and say they did this wrong. Its pervasive. Now the grand jury found the recent settlement will add to the financial burden. It concluded a lack of continuity at the top. Oakland unified has had 9 superintendents since 2003. Thats roughly 1 new boss every year and a half. The school board says this report raises important questions. We will use this report face these issues head on and improve how we operate. Our time is 4 14. There are now plans to cover up a controversial mural at George WashingtonSan Francisco high school. People on both sides whether to keep the mural and is considered historic or cover it up because it has racist themes. And the public was given time to speak out before last nights vote. The people dont want to see unpleasant or potentially offensive images. When i went to School Every Day i had to walk into the entrance and look at those murals. It was wrong. It was dehumanizing. The school board says it will cover that mural with paint or panelling. It will cost about the same amount. Board members say the final decision hinges on how long each project would take but it will be at least a year before the mural is completely covered because an Environmental Impact report is needed and the School District has to find the money to do the work. Oakland is one step closer to banning facial Recognition Technology by city agencies. Oaklands Public Safety committee advanced the ban to the counsel last night. Facial Recognition Software can help catch criminals but critics argue the technology dispro portionately impacts. Our time is 4 16 theres a plan to sue the city of San Francisco over the citys plans to build a Navigation Center for the homeless along the embarkadaro which granted the city on a two year lease across from piers 30 and 32. The city of hopes to open a 200bed facility by the end of the year. It will increase crime in the area including drug use on the streets. San Francisco Police say theyre in the middle of a campaign to make the streets safer in one of the highcrime areas of San Francisco and they just completed a 5day operation in the tenderloin seizing 988 bundles of drugs with an estimated value of 20,000. So the on shore breeze has no problem cooling down sacramento valley. As that system kind of slides by. You get a good look at that system as it carves itself out over the west. In Walnut Creek Police have released body cam video earlier this month. Ktvus alyana gomez tells us the mans family tells us the use of force by police was not justified. Miles my grandson is having a Mental Health breakdown. Miles halls grandmother called 911. A lot of screaming and yelling over there. What sounded like could have been a gunshot. Walnut creek police. He has this long pole and hes threatening us with it but im telling you now hes going to be aggressive to the police. The dispatcher notified officers hall. But the dispatcher also notified about a sharp edged pole. He has a long pole with a sharp edge on it and he is being violent. Moments later, officers made contact with hall and made four body cam images. Stop. Stop. Shots fired. The first few shots you hear are from this less lethal bean bag gun but with a four bean bag round you hear a fourth fired. Hall was handcuffed on the ground and still alive as officers tended to his wounds. He died at the hospital. At the time he was shot and killed he was moving away from them, off to the side. I dont see the justification for the shooting. Heres another angle. Family attorney john burr says it shows hall starting to run to the side of officers after he started to run. He wasnt running at the Police Officers at the time they shot him. Since 2015 Walnut Creek Police say they have responded to 8 calls responding to hall. You cant expect a person whos unreasonable and mentally impaired to act in a reasonable way. John jury says hes moving forward with a civil rights case.
