Nobody will be driving these uhaul beagles anytime soon. The front grills are melted away in an Early Morning fire. People for two. Six fans got blown up and mostly totaled out her. Took a pickup truck the runt of the blast. A few other vehicles caught fire and have already been towed from the yard. Surveillance cameras keep a watch on the fleet. It are the vapors are dangerous. Dropped the fire found plenty of evidence abandoned by the thieves. 55 gallon drums being siphoned into, plus tubes and a funnel and a smaller jug already filled. s fuel theft is a just operation. Joke is likely they suffered burns. Two cars were spotted used leading the uhaul lot. We did a sweep of the area last night. But then again this morning. We have not found that person. Likely, somebody is injured from this. We are doing evidence work with what was left behind and trying to prove who it was. Joke it is not the first time gasoline has been stolen here. Rentals are returned with full tanks. It is an attractive target. There is no card, no fencing, and no locking gas caps. A crime that may rise and fall with the times. Investigators are getting good leads and they are checking with hospitals in case a suspect shows up injured. The thieves would be looking at grand theft as well as arson, both felonies. Besides the gas drums and the other evidence, a letter and pocketknife were also left behind. Those may have fingerprints on them as well. Now to San Francisco. Surveillance video showing a vehicle involved in a hit and run rampage. Police say in just a matter of time the stolen gray suv hit to pedestrians, some scaffolding, and multiple cars before the driver was arrested. One of those two pedestrians was critically injured. That person suffered a serious head injury. Rampage happened overnight box, stretching from eddie and taylor in the tenderloin. We are told that that is were officers caught up to the driver and arrested her. This all began with San Francisco police with a stolen kia. The one behind the will refused to stop and the rampage began. Drugs are eventually released shows a woman in a stolen gray chisel driving onto the sidewalk and nothing even in scaffolding. As officer ran toward her, she reverses, refuses to stop and again drips onto the sidewalk. She reversed a second time and takes off, eventually heading south on fifth street. The woman had to cars on fifth and market and to mark cars in the south of market. kreskin after she went the wrong way down clara. Police say the initial crash at taylor was terrifying. After a brief pause, the suspect turned the vehicle and drove onto the sidewalk, striking a worker and a scaffolding, damaging the scaffolding. The worker was transported to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. Following the impact with the scaffolding and the worker, the suspect in a series of maneuvers where she reversed the car and then drove forward again, striking several vehicles. Joke this is video of the woman getting arrested. Is unknown if she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. She face a number of charges, including obstructing place, resisting st, hit and run, and possession of a stolen car. The Police Footage of the incident was taken just outside the tenderloin station. It shows a number of officers attempting to stop that suspect. Under census the use of force policy adopted back in 2016, officers are not allowed to open fire at a moving vehicle. In this case, police say it was a stolen car. A source tells us that the woman was on probation after two prior arrests for auto theft. Lawmakers in separatist San Francisco would give independent contractors many of the same rights as employees. The sweeping bill includes minimum wage protection and other benefits like workers compensation. Casework Companies Like lyft and uber are opposed to the bill. They argue hiring independent contractors provide flexibility for workers as well. The microstate that bill set clear standards following the California Supreme Court ruling on the issue last year. State lawmakers also passed a bill capping rent increases. The legislation would prohibit landlords from raising rent by more than 7 each year, plus inflation. So many people have reached out on facebook and email. People who are also experiencing the struggle of homelessness and also people wanting to help. Tonight, we want to show you what has happened since. John harris works at San Francisco health and Human Service department. I was come to work on time. I never miss a day. Reporter in San Francisco and it up with a job but no home. For two years had been in and out of shelters, sleeping in his suv. Last month he told us how he struggled, aching too much for the city low Income Housing but not enough for the city high rent. After his story aired, people reached out. I was really doing bad. Nobody can really tell. Now that they are aware they really reached out. I was surprised that he was living out of his drug. Reporter coworkers and fellow union birds helped him get a hotel room. We all rallied to try to help him, the social workers in our agency. His manager was kind enough to start a gofundme page. We were very happy about that. Reporter coworkers connected him with a physical Community Services. They explained to me that we can help you with everything as far as moving in cost. You would need to find the place yourself. The caseworkers are problem solvers, helping to pull puzzle pieces together. We want to understand the situation. Want to understand their background. What are the ways we can support folks with exiting homelessness that is not involved getting on a traditional housing list . It could take 35 years for them to get housing. Reporter this past week, another piece fell into place. Somebody moved out recently. Reporter the tenant had moved out by the house and the pastor offered it to him. In reality, we are on a paycheck away from being whole list. What we need to do is help people. We never know when well be in the situation. Reporter the Evergreen Baptist Church at grade to give him a discount on rent. Wednesday, the pastor gave a tour of a modest, clean room apartment. After two and half years of not having a home, it can be hard finding what it means to have four walls around you, your own bathroom, and a safe place to sleep. Even with the church discount, a physical Community Services is also helping him afford the rent. All you will need to do is there, there, there.
