Their house caught fire early today. It starts after 3 00 on fulton between divisadero and the fire crews are out there. And the two alarm fire has been contained. That was an hour ago. Were sending a crew there now to get more details and bring you more information coming up at 5 00. The search continues for a pit bull and its owner after a woman was mauled in vallejo. The attack happened near a homeless camp. The woman was driving on broadway near a closed Walmart Store and she pulled over to close her hood which had popped open and she was attacked. I tried to pull my arm and he had ahold of it. And i was trying to jab him in the eyes when all of a sudden i heard someone cussing and yelling. A man ended up pulling the dog away. The dog and its owner have not been found. Anyone with information is asked to call police. The San FranciscoPublic Defenders Office says missing video from a body camera played a key role in the acquittal of a homeless man accused of threatening a resident. The Police Officer appears to intentionally turn off the body camera while responding to a residents complaint that 53 yearold amy was threatening him. Theres a two minute gap in the video. In court, a deputy public defender suggested that gap was part of a conspiracy between the Police Officer and the resident to figure out how to get the man off the streets and into jail. The San FranciscoPolice Department is investigating the incident. Theres another school shooting, this one at a los angeles middle school. Police took a 12yearold girl into custody. But authorities believe the shooting was an accident. Reporter will carr has the story. Reporter several students and a staffer were injured. The shooter was a 12yearold girl. 12yearold, yes, with a gun, wow. Thats something. Reporter five people were injured and two by gunfire. And a 15yearold male student was shot in the head. And a 15yearold female shot in the wrist. She was bleeding from her righthand and there was a hole on her righthand. Reporter nervous parents quickly gathered around salvador castro middle school, some getting texts from their children. Reporter one of the kids got shot right in front of us. We asked him if he was okay and he said i dont know whats going on. He was confused. Reporter the investigation is still in the early stages and as for a motive, Los Angeles Police say the shooting was actually an accident. A classmate says the gun was in a backpack and went off when she dropped the bag. No word on how she got the gun. And if it came from an adult in her home, additional charges may be warranted. This is the third u. S. School shooting in less than two weeks. A 16yearold shot a classmate in texas followed by a shooting in kentucky. Will carr, fox news. A 15yearold girl will be spending the next 40 years in a mental hospital. Thats the maximum punishment for trying to clear a classmate during a violent attack. Morgan claims she was driven to kill by slenderman and she thought held kill her family if she didnt obey his command. The victim was able to crawl to safety after being stabbed 19 times. People in willow glenn are concerned after video shows a man who looks like he is casing homes. Jesse gary has reaction from neighbors. The police claim that just before they took him into custody he threw his sign at an occupied vehicle and damaged it. They say when they tried to arrest him he was uncooperative. Other protesters claim that cole was racially profiled by police. This is a problem that ucpd has on this campus. Police brutality and racism. And there were protests at uc campuses all over the state by the union that represents the service and medical employees. That union has been bargaining with the school for a new contract. Well, a state senator is introducing legislation to make it easier for cities to make decisions for the mentally ill or homeless who cant care for themselves. Scott wiener introduced the bill yesterday. The bill is meant to help chronically Homeless People who are mentally ill or severely drug addicted and cant make sound decisions for himself. Time is 4 39 and a candidate running to succeed as the district 2 supervisor has filed a lawsuit to move the election from november to june. According to the chronicle, he filed the lawsuit in superior court along with another candidate with the seat. When former district 2 supervisor mark farrell was named the interim mayor he appointed who will be running in november. The two candidates who filed the lawsuit say that allowing her to serve until november gives her an unfair advantage. They want the district 2 supervisor race moved up to the june 5th ballot. Firefighters are still at the scene of an overnight fire just across the park from the famous painted lady. Christien kafton is there. And the homes that caught fires it was the famous victorians but they were older homes. Reporter if you take a look down here you can see that fire crews are still on scene and still working to contain the fire, making sure that it doesnt rekindle or spread anywhere. The fire started shortly after 3 00. Fire crews received multiple 911 calls about the fire on fulton street. Crews arrived to find that the fire had spread from one building under construction to a neighboring building. The building was unoccupied and the home next door had a family of five in it. And everyone made it out safely. And now the investigation is underway as to how the fire started in the first place. So at this point fire crews are monitoring the hot spots, making sure that the fire does not start up again.
