So, ran over one of the suspects. And officer was injured. That car, a black infinity, sped away. The infinity struck another car in the intersection. We saw this happen and after it hit the car, he jumped out. They then ran in different directions. I believe the infinity then rolled down the street and hit more cars. We saw officers detained two men but they only took one into custody. The men who were struck by the car were also taken to the hospital. Police say they may be making more arrests and connection of this. A deputy was hit in hayward. Tonight that suspect is still on the run. He was hit and dragged by a suspect in a stolen suv around 9 30 am. Paul chambers is at the scene and says the deputy fired several shots into the suv but the suspect was still able to get away. Reporter police were still on the scene but there is a little bit of clearing. We need to talk to this guy and catch them. With dogs there, there was a manhunt on. You can see the Police Searching for a man that investigators say nearly took the life of a motorcycle deputy. It is miraculous that he wasnt hurt or killed. This happened just after 9 30 am. The police tried to pull him over for a speeding violation. At first the suspect then complied then later that deputy was pinned to the suv after the suspect put the car in reverse. He was dragged backwards and then the suspect took a second attempt at his life. The suspect took aim at the deputy. Fearing for his life, the officer opened fire. We do not see signs or evidence that he was severely wounded, so he may have ducked down. The suspect then drove to royal avenue where he gets the vehicle and ran away on foot. After searching for three hours, Police Called off the search. It appears he either got out of the containment zone or was able to hide from us. Police have a vague description of the suspect. They said they will use surveillance cameras to get a better description. They dont think he was hit by a bullet because they found his shirt. They also have footage of him driving towards the deputy. The deputy is now on paid administrative leave and he has minor injuries to his arms and hand.
