Now, that father, jesus cardoza, and his family had nothing to say as they left a martinez courthouse. Cardoza wore a tshirt with pictures of the daughters. The defendant seen in an earlier Court Appearance pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder as well as auto theft and evading arrest. His Attorney Says saucedo will be cleared of the charges. Its a horrible tragedy. He is tore up about it. He has been on suicide watch. I think at the end of the day, though, mr. Saucedo will be exonerated of all of these charges. Authorities say he was trying to get way from a Contra Costa County sheriffs deputy in on the yak when he ran a led right and proud into a truck driven by the girls mother. 2yearold camila on the left and her sister, 4yearold lenexi, were killed. The singleengine cessna 152 came down near buchanan field in concord this morning on the former site of the naval weapons station. A Richmond Police officer at home recovering after he was randy a driver while trying to shut down a weekend sideshow. Two 18yearolds are now under arrest. Reporter last night Police Arrested these two teenagers in connection with the crime. They say 18yearold juan vargas was behind the wheel. He is facing a number of charges, including attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. His girlfriend, 18yearold genesis diaz casteneda, was also arrested on conspiracy charges after police say the pair ditched the damaged car after the crash and then called to report it stolen. Police say it was clear their story didnt add up. This frightening close call for a richmond officer came at the tail end of a large sideshow. The police chief says there has been a lot more of this kind of activity recently in the city, and in the future he is planning to respond with more officers on the ground and the departments drone in the air. The chase went into San Francisco and then continued southbound on highway 101 before heading east on the san mateo bridge. The driver was taken into custody in hayward after the chp used a p. I. T. An update on the worst than usual flu season. Reporter we spoke with the director of Infectious Disease inside the bay area. Earlier this month, 10 to 15 of hospitalizations were for the flu. Now its about 5 . He still warns there are a lot of cases of the flu out there. The California Public department of health, their latest numbers show that 97 people under the age of 65 have died from the flu in our state so far this season. You can compare that to the same data year ago when 31 people had died from the flu. The Infectious Disease director says twothirds of the people who died from the flu this year did not have the flu vaccine. He says the flu shot is still the best line of defense against the most aggressive strain of the flu going around. The h3n2 strain. We have outbreaks every year. This is definitely on outbreak. How is this different though . I heard people get either a longterm or a shortterm fraud alert. How is this freeze different from that . Yeah. There are products like fraud alerts or Credit Monitoring Services that will alert you if something has happened after the fact. The credit freeze is a good Consumer Protection because it actually prevents that new account fraud from happening from the start. Okay. I know when we first talked about this and people were encouraged to go online, see if your name is on the list. What if it isnt . Is this still a good idea . This is very good idea for consumers to do because there are so many, you know, the breach was one of many that happened over the last several years alone.
