The pro life rally walk for life has organizers saying theyre not antiwomen but use the event to connect people with services and reach out to women hurt by abortion. Im a woman. And i truly believe that its a baby. I truly believe that it has rights that it needs to be protected and i dont understand how it can be that if the mother wants the child, its a baby. And if the mother doesnt want the child its a bunch of cells that can be killed. Saturdays rally comes after the 45th anniversary of the Supreme Court case roe v. Wade. President trump became the first sitting president to acknowledge the march for life. He said ending abortion will be one of his priorities while in office. I think a lot of pro life people are happy with president trump. He has acted pro life. Hes done a lot of great things to cut funding for americans paying for abortions. Overseas he named a wonderful new justice to the Supreme Court. And so theyve been very happy. For several people in attendance say they werent always pro life but a personal experience began their passion for the pro life movement. Ive had a change of heart. My son was 14 and the doctors gave me two choices to abort him or wait for the baby to die. So my husband said that he had a heart beat so we chose to keep him. And hes 14. My niece or nephew today would have been 12years old and it just really hurts our family. Because its just like Little Things like that go a long way and you just think about them here and there so this is why we do it. A yearly criticism of the walk for life is that it doesnt represent local San Franciscoans and that most attendees are bused in from outside the city. After driving to several different checkpoints we did not find any protesters. This afternoon thousands of pro life demonstrators walked down market street. The walk for life ended at an information fair set up at Justin Herman plaza. The president of planned parent hood is stepping down after more than a decade. Under the leadership of Cecille Richards it grew. It was in the 60yearold will continue political activism. Theres no immediate word of a possible successor. Today marks International Holocaust remembrance day. Exactly 73 years ago on january 27, 1945, the soviet army liberated the death camp in occupied poland. 13 years ago this date was recognized as a remembrance day. And people reflect on the extermination of 6 million jewish men, women, and children. Many people reflect on the past and look forward to the future. Survivors shared stories and some who werent even directly effected felt that the many monuments erected serve as a role in history. It was exactly 73 years since the death camp was liberated by the soviet army in 1945. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson shared these words on the somber day in a monument that was once the warsaw ghetto. As we mark this day in solemn remembrance let us repeat the words of our own commitment, never again. Never again. The memorial stands to remind the world of the 6 million jewish men, women, and children that were killed. There are people that want to pretend it didnt happen or to compare, theres other genocides that have gone on but nothing to this degree. There probably always will be genocides in various parts of the world. But they should all be brought out and stopped. The life size sculpture depicts 11 victims of the nazi death camp installed in 1984. It has been controversial with some arguing its just too graphic. The holocaust is something we never need to forget or we might repeat it. Which would be an incredibly horrible thing. The genocide, a reminder that humans are capable of unimaginable evil. Something these survivor ins poland know all too well. And the memorial in San Francisco is often targeted by graffiti. But the sculptor said that in and of itself is a reminder that the problems of prejudice have not yet been solved. Rob, thank you. Democrats are criticizing president trumps call for 25 billion for a border wall and his proposed path to citizenship for the so called dreamers. He said it would be better spent addressing the countrys other needs. The white house hasnt released a complete blueprint of their proposal only a frame work. Two new refrigerators on air force one could cost 24 million taxpayer dollars. The department of defense says boeing gave an estimate close to that amount to replace the refrigerators in december. There were calls this morning regarding the disappearance of mckayla myers. Again she has been found. New at 10 00 police say a mother and her son are facing charges for running a prostitution ring out of a santa rosa home and apartment at roanoke park. Yesterday authorities arrested David Rosenburg and his mother on prostitution charges. The son also faces a charge of Human Trafficking too. Investigators were tipped off by a roanoke park apartment manager who received complaints about constant visits by men. Police made the arrests after a sting with the women featured in an online ad. At least 95 people have now died in todays afghan terror attack. The taliban is now claiming responsibility for that attack. Foxs David Lee Miller is in jerusalem with the latest. Reporter the attack in kabul on saturday is being called an atrocity and a massacre. There is outrage not only because of the high death toll and great number of injuries but because an ambulance used to save lives was used to destroy so many. Photos that allegedly show a worker carrying uncovered raw meat into a San Jose Grocery store have gone viral on social media. These photos were posted on facebook earlier this week. The person who posted them said the slabs of pork were delivered to a ranch 99 store using costco shopping carts. They said quote were taking the necessary steps by investigating this case further and filing a complaint against our vender. They also report the Santa Clara County of Environmental Health has launched an investigation. The west coast has seen an increase in shark attacks. There were nine attacks last year with eight of them being in california and one in washington. Now thats five more shark attacks than there were in 2016. The Committee Says most of the attacks likely involved great white sharks and kayakers. North bay fire victims now have an online hub to share photos and memories of places destroyed in the deadly fires back in october. They created the interactive memory map so that anyone can add photographs and captions of special places that are no longer there. This years flu season is killing americans in numbers not seen in nearly a decade. Some numbers suggest that one in every 15 visits to the doctor are now for the flu. Here in california at least 97 people have died and numbers like those are being seen across the country. Reporter this flu season may prove to be the worst in nearly a decade. The cdc reports the flu is widespread striking across the nation. Only hawaii has been spared the brunt of this brutal and deadly season. The old and the young are particularly vulnerable. The life of a 12yearold from florida was claimed this past tuesday on january 23. His friends and classmates are mourning. He was nice. You would never see him without a smile on his face or something. Every single time in first period he would always make everybody laugh. He would like, youll never see him sad or anything. I was really sad because hes like one of my best friends. 37 pediatric deaths have been reported this season. And u. S. Health officials expect there will be more in the coming weeks ominously comparing this year to the 2014 2015 season where there were 148 pediatric deaths reported for that year. The cdc tracking reveals that last week one out of 15 doctor visits were for symptoms of the flu. Thats the highest level since the swine flu pandemic of 2009. Weve been following the state Health Departments asking them what kind of activity theyre seeing and this is the third year in a row where 49 out of 50 states are indicating theres widespread activity in their state. They suggest senior fbi officials were concerned that being too tough on Hillary Clinton for her email use could come back to hurt them if she were elected president. An investigation has been launched into the university of michigan over the handling of the sex abuse of olympic gymnasts. No department at Michigan State university is off limits. Announcing saturday details of an investigation into Michigan State universitys handling of the dr. Larry nassar case. If we have learned anything from the nassar sentencing in lansing that it is too many voices of too many victims had been unheard for too long. Nassar a former Michigan State employee and doctor from the u. S. Olympics team was sentenced to up to 175 years in prison. More than 160 women came forward claiming they were abused by nassar. A heart breaking end in the case of a missing 4yearold in north carolina. After days of searching the boy has been found dead. Four days after the 4yearold went missing the boys body was found in a pond just yards from the familys home. He disappeared by his grandfather was baby sitting. Since then Community Members worked around the clock to find him. We have prayed. But this is the outcome everyone feared. It is heart breaking. The fbi is now assisting in the investigation. And even though Police Believe the death was an accident authorities are waiting on an autopsy for the exact cause of death. New tonight at 10 00 a disturbing discovery today in plassar county when a group of hikers spotted human remains in an area popular with mt. Bikers and horseback riders. Heres the latest on the investigation. Plassar county sheriffs deputies lined forest hill road after the discovery of skeletal remains by a group of hikers. It will take sometime to determine exactly how long its been there. But because of the condition its in its been a considerable amount of time. Hikers found the remains this morning a couple of hundred feet off the road in an area of brush. Its not clear how this person died. We dont know if it was foul play or if it was natural causes. Obviously thats one of the things well be investigating. The lieutenant adds its too early to tell how old this person may have been. They found remnants of clothing but not enough to make a determination about whether the person was a man or woman. The area popular for horseback riding and biking. Thats shocking. Absolutely shocking. They ride this area weekly and say where the skeleton was found is in between established trails. From what i can see where they found it its not near any trail. Nobody would be going up there, thats just brush and area in between trails. Investigators will take the remains to the countys pathologist who will work to identify the remains and determine a cause of death. A woman was arrested early this morning after she allegedly attacked a Police Officer in the east bay. The fight broke out at about 4 00 this morning at the denys in emeriville off of interstate 80. Police say they were called to a fight involving 10 to 15 people with at least one person wielding a baseball bat one woman was arrested with attempt of battery on a Police Officer, and resisting arrest. A pedestrian died last month in a hit and run crash. Officers received calls about a body on southbound sonoma boulevard. A woman had been struck by a car and she died on the scene. Authorities have not identified the victim but say shes a 27yearold transient. Investigators are looking for the driver and they say evidence points to a silver honda, possibly a van or suv. A man struck three cyclists in two separate collisions last fall will not face charges. The das office said he suffered a mini stroke on those accidents. The three cyclists were struck on a stretch of road in danville that has seen several accidents involving cyclists. Two of the victims received serious injuries.
