Heres a look at whether. Across the city we are reporting some light rain. It is headed our way and moving in. Most of our day, if not the entire day will be dry. As we get into the evening, that will begin to change. Here is a look at the golden gate bridge. Partly cloudy skies today. A little bit of fog out there. It does not look too bad right now. I go here is a view where the green is still to the north of us. If i step back just a little bit, you can see a better view. We are looking at some rain and snow over shasta and rain moving into Crescent City. It will take all day before it reaches us. Here is a look at future cast. Sunday afternoon, mostly cloudy skies. By 5 pm, it moves right into the north edge of Sonoma County. We get into the evening hours and at about 9 pm it is moving into the central bay. It has moved off the coastline. It looks like foremost, it will be an evening event. Heres a look at 11 pm. It will slide into the south bay. Higher elevations pick up a little bit of rain. It will continue overnight. We are likely to wake up with a little bit of wet weather tomorrow morning. For today, temperature similar to yesterday, colder in some spots. Freezing in santa rosa. 33 in napa and 33 to start your day in fairfield. 39 in redwood city and 42 degrees in San Francisco. Afternoon highs will be very similar to yesterday. There may be more cloud cover. In the extended forecast we are tracking another system. More coming up. Congresses meeting today to put an end to the Government Shutdown. The federal Government Shutdown is in the second day. Senators went home last night without a deal. Congress is trying to hammer out a deal and federal workers in nonessential positions face furlough. The white house is warning leaders that the closure could go into the work week. Immigration remains the key issue. Daca is not shutting down or having any problems until march. We arty have a court case on it. Our Childrens Health Insurance Program is being shut down. They want to deal with immigration then they will think about reopening the government. It is a shakedown strategy that democrats have been talked into by their base. Democrats are accusing republicans of ignoring immigration. Any spending bill would include renewed funding for daca. Negotiating with this white house is like negotiating with jello, it is next to impossible. As soon as you take one step forward, the hard right forces, the president , three steps back. They are insisting on a budget that supports our military and the domestic investments that keep our nation strong and honors our values by protecting our dreamers. Mitch mcconnell has called for vote at 1 am monday morning unless an agreement is reached sooner. The shutdown is starting to impact agencies right here in the bay area. It is. Were live in tampa at the ferry to alcatraz. That is one of those places that will be open, there will be changes there though, right . Reporter yes. There are going to be impacts. Alcatraz is open. We are at the ferry. There warming them up and getting ready to take passengers to alcatraz later today. Alcatraz is open. It might not be the experience that some people had signed up for. The good news, alcatraz is open for business. The bad news is there will be no ranger led tours. That includes the nighttime tours. Other sites are starting to feel the impact as well. Mere woods is closed beginning today. Stenson beats is also shutdown. Then there are facilities that are healing the impact but not shutting down. That includes the Marin Headlands which are open today but the parking lots and Restroom Facilities will not be open. In San Francisco ocean beach is open but the parking lots and restrooms will be closed. Keep in mind, it is still the weekend. Of the shutdown is not resolved today, we could see more effects as the work with begins tomorrow. Hundreds of thousands of federal workers will be furloughed. This morning, President Trump was tweeting about the shutdown saying, it is great to see how hard republicans are fighting for our military and safety at the border. The democrats want illegals to pour into our nation unchecked. If the stalemate continues republicans should go to 51 percent Nuclear Option and vote on real longterm budget. Keep in mind the last time the federal Government Shutdown in 2013 850,000 employees were furloughed each day. It is a little early for alcatraz tourist to begin the tours. The boats dont leave until 8 45. Ticket sales begin at 7 30. We might see people showing up to buy tickets. We hope to get a response and see how the federal government is impacting their proposed visits to alcatraz island. Hopefully we can make it over to the rock ourselves to see what it is like. I have been to alcatraz before. It is wonderful to be able to wander around. They do have headset doors. It is nice to have the ranger there to really give you some more interactive experience and talk with them about the rock and what it was like out here. It will be a mixed bag. He was seen at his desk in the oval office. He was also seen walking on the ground and meeting with officials. The house and senate adjourned without reporting any changes. Hundreds of thousands of women took to the streets in support of womens rights in many large cities across the country. Major themes this year include the me to movement and the fight over daca. Lee martinez was in San Francisco with a look at how this years march differs from last years. Reporter now in its second year, something the womens march as a revolution. This time empowered by the me to movement. I think a lot happens for womens rights. A lot of women came forward. Other supporters say the womens march and Movement Still have not gone far enough to include more support for women of color. R criticism i have is that everybody wanted to stand up. What about the issues of women around the world women who look like me whos lives are affected. We dont have to wait until january 20 for march. The biggest difference between the second march is the inclusion of more issues vocalized outside of city hall. I came out last year. This year i came out for immigrants who are being departed. Jorge garcia was brought here at 10 years old. He was deported earlier this week. President trump and congress have not struck a deal on immigration reform. This is him saying goodbye to his family. Surveillance video shows the van crashing into the store and then driving off. The driver is 70 years old and is cooperating. The board of supervisors may be changed to Indigenous People day. At midnight you can see most of the bay area is getting light or moderate rain. Monday morning out the door, slick roads. There will still be some rainfall on the morning drive. The democrats and republicans are trying to avoid being blamed but there are no concrete signs of progress. The democrats say they will vote for budgeted tension when they get a deal with the president for more Disaster Relief money and to prevent immigrants from being deported. The senate has planned a vote later today order shortterm funding measure. This is impacting the bay area. That includes alcatraz in San Francisco. We are at the fairies on how the rock is faring. Sheriffs deputies are searching for two people who robbed a bank at gunpoint. This happen yesterday morning at the chase bank in woodside. Police say the two Armed Robbers got away with money. If you have information, call the Sheriffs Department. Sheriffs deputies arrested assess wrecked in a machete attack. Deputies arrested Brandon Foster from woodland. They were called to a home friday minoringamorning where the victim had been seriously injured. He was messing with the Circuit Breaker box. The victim is hospitalized and foster faces charges of attempted homicide. Oakland police are looking for help identifying a suss back to the stabbing that happened friday night. It happened just before 11 pm on high street. It was just a few blocks away from the south end part. The victim was stabbed with a knife and had to be taken to the hospital for treatment. They are not releasing any new information on the victim for description of a suspect. Police in oakland are investigating a marijuana grow house. Offices went into that house after a fire or 44th avenue. Cruise put out the electrical fire in 10 minutes. They went inside the warehouse they found about 50 Marijuana Plants growing there. Fire officials have not been able to locate the owner. No one was hurt in the fire. Employees at a restaurant are asking the owner to separate himself from the company. They picketed outside the restaurant. All in response to Sexual Harassment allegations made against the owner. At least seven former employees have accused him of Sexual Harassments harassment. He admitted to misconduct and apologize. He is not running daytoday operations at the restaurant but he is still the primary stakeholder that company. And east bay woman has filed a silver civil suit against Kaiser Permanente. The woman says the assault happened an assault happened at Union City Kaiser. She said the medical assist, grabbed her from behind and assaulted her. He was arrested and charged with four felonies. The civil suit says that kaiser had complained toacan had complaints against the employee but was still allowed to work with female patients. Mike pence and his wife arrived in the middle east yesterday morning. He met with the king and talked to other officials in an undisclosed location. The next stop on the Vice President s trip is israel. Officials say insurgents killed six people and one citizen after storming the intercut Intercontinental Hotel in cabo. There was a handoff that ended up with all five attackers killed. The taliban is claiming responsibility. It happened almost x years after insurgents carried out similar salts on the same hotel. Cape town could be the first major city in the world to lose its water supply. They could run out of water by april due to the worst drought in 100 years. I cross reference anything from yelp to eaters, anything online to make sure that this is a decent restaurant and i have a good feeling about this. Actually, restaurants love that. She does research. She tries to find out certain things. Oakland is one of my Favorite Places. There are so many new and upcoming laces. Reporter chefs will be the first to tell you the presentation matters. Taking a good picture, they can get on board with that. How did this turnout . Its okay. That looks great. Theres great Natural Light coming from this entire restaurant. Congress meets again today to put an end to a Government Shutdown. It is in it second day after senators went home last night without an agreement. As Congress Works to hammer out a deal, federal workers face furloughs. That means many nonessential facilities like museums and parks will have to close. The white house is mourning leaders that the closure could go into the work week. Immigration remains a key issue for both parties. Daca is not shutting down or having any problems until march. We arty have a court case on that. Our Childrens Health Insurance Program is being shut down. They want to deal with immigration and then they will think about reopening the government. It is a shakedown strategy that democrats have been talked into by their base. Democrats are are accusing republicans of getting rid of daca. Negotiating with the white house is like negotiating with jello, it is next to impossible. As soon as you take one step forward, the hard right forces, the president goes three steps back. They are insisting on a budget that supports the military and the domestic investments that keep our nation strong. It it will honor our values and protect our dreamers. Mitch mcconnell has called for a vote at 1 am monday morning unless an agreement has been reached. The federal shutdown is also affecting agencies here. Were live in San Francisco at alcatraz. It is open but i guess we will have some changes today, right . Yes. It will be different. If you have gone before, it might be a little bit different. Visitors may not notice the federal shutdown. You can see visitors are starting to show up this morning. It might be slightly different. First the good news, alcatraz is open for business today. The bad news is there will be no National Park ranger led doors. That means no behindthescenes tours and no nighttime doors. There will be daytime doors. Those will be limited. You can take the guided tours with the headsets. Tourists are hearingaour book tours are booked solid today. Other areas are starting to feel the impacts. Their facilities that are not closing down but feeling the impact of the shutdown. That includes favorites. Parking lots and Restroom Facilities will not be open at some facilities. Ocean beach is open but the parking lots and restrooms will be close. This morning President Trump said it is great to see how long and hard republicans are fighting for our border. If the stalemate continues, republicans should go to a Nuclear Option and vote on a real longterm budget. Of the minority leader says he is ready to deal. I am always willing lit to listen to compromises. At this point we feel very strongly about the issues, not just dreamers but opioids, pensions, not funding the military. Tourism is part of our economy, a major part. We said that alcatraz is open but other places are close. We talked to a gentleman from oklahoma. He said he was here and happy to be here. Hes glad he will be able to tour the rock. He had to cancel plans to go to other places. A lot of people will be in similar situations with some of these major National Parks closed today because of the Government Shutdown. Keep in mind, this is sunday. We might see a bigger impact as we start to get into the work week. When monday rolls around, we might start seeing more federal employees furloughed. At the height of the shutdown in 2013, there were 850,000 federal employees laid off or furloughed each day. Certainly, that is something we need to look at. Back may happen this year. The first boat does not leave for about 40 minutes over to alcatraz. Are people showing up wondering if it is even open . There must be some confusion i would think. We have seen people showing up. They tell us they are booked. We have talked to a few people. Of i think a lot of people call ahead because they had a sense that things could be different because of the shutdown. The gentleman we spoke with from oklahoma said he called ahead to make sure the tour was still on. He said he called about another tour and found out that one was not going to go. Hundreds of thousands of women took to the streets in support of womens rights.  another of other big cities across the country also had a march. The themes covered the me too movement. Democrats are challenging the government to get involved in a compromise that could end the standoff. There are no signs of progress in the negotiation in washington. We will get connected shortly and we will move on for now. Two people robbed a bank yesterday morning at the chase bank on woodside road in woodside. Police say the Armed Robbers got away with an undisclosed amount of money. If you have information on this, call the Sheriffs Department. The time now is 8 34. The sheriffs deputies arrested a suspect in a machete attack on a 74yearold man. Deputies arrested Brandon Foster after investigators were called to the home on friday morning where the victim had been seriously injured. A man found the suspect messing with a Circuit Breaker. The victim is hospitalized at this hour. He faces charges of attempted homicide and cruelty to an elder adult. Police are looking for help identifying a suspect in a stabbing friday night. It happened just before 11 pm. It was in east oakland. The attack was just a few blocks away from the courtland creek park. The victim was stabbed with a knife and taken to the hospital for treatment. Theyre not releasing any new information about the victim or description of the suspect. Police are also investigating a possible grow house. They found out about marijuana after fire crews were sent there last night. Crews were able to put out the electrical fire in 10 minutes. Then they went inside the warehouse and found 50 plans growing. Officials have not been able to locate the owner and no one was hurt. Employees at the oakland restaurant are pressing the owner to separate himself from the company. Employees picketed in response to Sexual Harassment allegations against the owner. At least 17 former female employees have accused him of Sexual Harassment. Managers are threatening to quit. Last month, he admitted to misconduct and apologize. He is no longer running the day todayadaytoday operations. A woman has filed a civil suit against Kaiser Permanente after being assaulted during a routine visit. This was during a doctors visit at the Union City Kaiser last january. She says the medical assistant grabbed her from behind and sexually assaulted her. He was arrested and charged with four felonies, the suit says he was allowed to work with patients after complaints. He is not in custody. We will go back to our coverage of the shutdown. Some peoples trip are being impacted. We have talked with a woman who is in the crowd now with her husband. They have been coming planning on taking a night tour. She said that will be impacted. Again, the good news is that alcatraz is open. No National Park ranger led tours. That means there will be no behind the scenes tours and no date time no nighttime tours. You can take guided tours with headsets. We are hearing the trips to alcatraz her book solid for the day. Other sites are starting to feel impacts as well. Mayor woods is closed. The beach is also shutting down. Then there are facilities that are not closing down but are feeling the impact. That includes Marin Headlands. That is open today but the parking lots and restrooms will not be open. The ocean beach is open but the parking lots and restrooms will be closed. We talked with visitors heading out to alcatraz and they tell us that the shutdown is starting to take an impact on their visit to the bay area. Alcatraz is open. The National Forest is close. As of right now, alcatraz is open. We had to cancel that portion. We are hoping for a refund. There are no other good options for us. We have had people ask us, are things running normally here for the trip to alcatraz . Yes. It is open. The tour is getting ready to head out. That vote will leave in about seven minutes. It will head out for the first tour of alcatraz. That means no behind the scene tours and no nighttime tours. If this continues, we will get into the work week beginning tomorrow. Another body has been found at montecito after recent mudslides. The Sheriffs Office says the body of a 28yearold mother was found yesterday morning by a Search Dog Team two weeks after the mudslide. Federal workers in nonessential positions face furloughs. The white house is warning leaders of federal agencies that the closure could go into the work week, immigration is the key issue for both pearts. Daca is not having problems until march and you have a court case on it but our military and our Childrens Health Insurance Program is being shut down. They want to deal on immigration, then they will think about reopening the government. Its a shake down strategy that Senate Democrats have been talked into by their base. Other sights around the air bay are feeling the impact, muir woods and Stinson Beach shut down, also others are feeling the impact, including the marin head lands, they are open but the rest rooms and parking lots are not open. Same with the Stinson Beach, the parking lot is closed. The federal shut down is impacting peoples visits to the bay area. We booked a half day and half night trip and they call me last night and told he me it was canceled. So that stinks but i asked if they were still doing day trips and they are doing the day trips so they are going to refund the rest of my money but i will still get to go for the day. You can hear that visitor trying to make the most of it. Reporter alcatraz is open today so they will take the day tour, they were hoping to go for a nighttime visit but that cannot now happen. We spoke to a visitor who was glad to see alcatraz was open but he said they had to cancel their trip to muir woods. When they learned about the federal shut down, they are trying to get a refund, its impacting sites around the bay area. Are they sold out or is it just business as usual with a few changes. At last check, they were still sold out, a lot of people got an email or an alert that let them know how their trip could be impacted. The woman we talked to see she got a phone call saying that the nighttime tour they pooked was off but that she could come during the daytime. There are lines here and the Ferry Service is booked solid today. Thats expected to be the case here today at alcatrasz because its open. President donald trump is staying in washington, dc, he skipped a gala last night at maralago to mark his one Year Anniversary in office, it was 100,000 per couple, his sons were there in his absence. The white house showed photos of him working during the shut down, he was seen in the oval office and he met with a group of white house officials. It happened across the street from the castro theater, the van crashed into parking meters before slamming into the deli, only the driver was injured. Nobody was in the middle of anything and he did not hit anybody, that was a miracle. Surveillance video shows the van crashing into the store and then driving off. The driver is a 70 year old man and he is cooperating in the investigation of the crash. Is a great day to get something done. San mateo deputies are searching for two people that robbed a bank at gun point. It happened at the chase bank on woodside road in woodside. If you have any information, you are asked to call the Sheriffs Department. Solano deputies arrested a suspect in a machete attack on a man, deputies arrested the man after investigators were called to a home where the victim had been seriously injured. The older man told the deputies he told foster messing with a Circuit Breaker box outside of his home. When he told him to go away, the suspect attacked him with a machete. Oakland police are looking for help in identifying the suspect in a stabbing on high steet in east oakland, the attack happened near the park. Officers said that the victim was stabbed with a knife and taken to the hospital for treatment. They are not releasing any new information about the victim or any descriptions of the suspects. Also in oakland, police are investigating a possible marijuana grow house, officers found out about the house, inside of a warehouse, after fire crews were called to the building last night. Crews put out the electrical fire in 10 minutes, when they went inside of the house, they found Marijuana Plants growing, fire officials have not been able to locate the owner of the warehouse. Last night employees at the shoe service on grant avenue picketed outside of the restaurant . Response to Sexual Harassment allegations made against the owner of the restaurant. Seven of the managers are threatening to quit. Last month, he admitted to misconduct. He apologized and is no longer running the operations at the restaurant but he is a primary owner in the company. An east bay woman has filed a civil suit against Kaiser Permanente saying she was sexually assaulted during a routine visit. The woman said the assault happened last january, she claimed that the medical assistant grabbed her from behind and sexual injury assaulted her. He was eventually arrested and charged with four felonies, the civil suit claims that Kaiser Permanente was previously told about this. Vice president mike pence and his wife visited egypt yesterday and this morning he met with the king of jordan. Another body has been recovered in month montecito after the mud slides. Reporter the folks at parlor said they make sure that the dishes always look just right when they come out of the kitchen. Presentation is very important. Reporter but for this local food blogger, sometimes things have to be arranged just a bit. She posts beautiful pictures of food from restaurants she loves. If its on one table, its easier to shoot.
