Reporter the driver, accused of triggering this crash, was arrested on suspicion of dui. 52yearold tammy walker from pittsburg is now facing charges of felony dui causing great bodily harm and assault on a peace officer. Authorities also say walker was driving on a suspended license after a prior dui conviction. When its a dui when will the dui end up here driving going to stop. 100 unacceptable. The driver ran a stop sign and broadsided the officers car. The officer was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. An investigation is underway but the driver is suspected of driving under the influence. A man convicted of murder and dui was in court today. He was driving 120 Miles Per Hour when he slammed into the back of the chp patrol vehicle on 880 in hayward. That crash killed chp officer andrew cammalleri. Sheriff deputies were called to a home in york county this morning. Investigators say a man assaulted a woman and took off running into nearby woods. The sheriff said the suspect shot one deputy who was chasing him. And then two hours later, he ambushed and shut two other deputies and a police officer. The reverse 911 call was given to the area around, the neighborhood around at that time. The sheriff said at least one deputy is in critical condition. The gunman identified as Christian Mccall was shot and taken into custody. A trial is underway in federal court over oakland ban on coal storage and shipments at the port of oakland. Reporter when that happens the east Bay Regional Park District closes the leak. It has been an ongoing issue for a long time that there has been wastewater dumping into Lake Temescal. Reporter raw sewage leaks from the dilapidated Sanitary Sewer System some pipes 160 years old is the problem. We do have spells a couple times a year. Typically during the rainy season when we have more rain. Reporter last summer ktvu followed a California Public records act request seeking information about the closures over the last 12 months. The Park District responded blaming the closures on natural algae blooms, nothing about sewage. The primary source of nutrients feeding the algae is from the bottom sediments of the lake. Thats resulted in many years from all reservoirs built in the 20s and weve had a lot of sentiments run into the lake. Reporter that sediment layer occupies 1015 feet of the lakes average 1030 foot depth and the district is considering dredging it out to prevent so many algae blooms. But with respect to sewage spills the district says when it has evidence of a spill it immediately closes the leak and puts up Water Quality warning signs prohibiting fishing, swimming and other contact with lake water until the testing gives the all clear. Sewage adds additional nutrients into the system. Nitrogen. Phosphorus. I think algae can be done that. Once it gets into the leak theres nothing you can do to clean it up. You have to wait for dilution. Reporter the district is concerned that oakland Sanitary Sewer Division is accused of underreporting the amount of the spills. That was revealed and an east bay express investigative report released this week. Ktvu asked the city about this, the city denied the allegations. Nonetheless weve had requested the city would elevate these issues. Its important to deal with these things in a timely manner. s reporter it will take serious repairs to keep raw sewage out of Temescal Creek which fees the like. The district says it is doing what i can with the money it has but the former director of sanitary source says it can do much better. The city of oakland Sewer Service fees are 50 million per year. So, i would not think that there is no excuse for the city of oakland not to be able to do what needs to be done to properly and effectively run the sewer the way theyre supposed to. This resulted in a c4 spinal cord injury. He is currently paralyzed from the neck down and requires assistance breathing. He is being treated at john mehr trauma icu. His wrestling teammates said she witnessed ryan get her. I know he got picked up and landed on his neck. Ive never seen someone break their neck like that and its not a common injury. The search is on for a man who stole a box truck, dropping at the wrong way on a freeway to escape the Highway Patrol. The truck driver was making a delivery in San Francisco. When he came back, the truck was gone. His boss, the owner, happened to be on 101 in south San Francisco and saw the truck heading south on the freeway. He called chp at officers followed the truck as it headed east on the westbound section of 237 in sunnyvale until he crashed near the sunnyvale golf course. These people, they dont thing. Fiddle thing. They just try to run away from the police. They try to run away from the police they dont care what could happen. The man jumped out of the truck. This video shows Highway Patrol officers with guns drawn chasing him. He got away. No one was seriously hurt. Police are asking anyone with information to give them a call.
