We are continuing to follow developing news from South Carolina where four Law Enforcement officers were shot while responding to a Domestic Violence call. Sheriffs deputies were called to a home early this morning in york county in South Carolina. When they arrived, they say the suspect, a man who assaulted a woman, took off. During the search for the suspect, he shot four officers. They were taken to the hospital. We do not have information on their conditions. Eventually the suspect was also shot and taken into custody. We will keep watching the story out of South Carolina and will bring you updates when they come in. We are learning more about a horrifying story from Riverside County and the city of perris. Thats where 13 children were found, some change to beds, and living in filthy conditions. A 17yearold girl escaped on sunday and called 911. Brothers and sisters locked in the house. They were all malnourished. Deputies say they were shocked to find seven were actually adults because they were so physically small. There were between 2and 29 years old. Investigators say the parents, David Allen Turpin and louise anna turpin, give no explanation as to why their children were held captive. Neighbors said they rarely saw the children. Everybody was super skinny and not athletic scilly, skinny, malnourished skinny. The children were given food and drinks and taken to hospitals to be examined. The couple has been booked on charges of felony torture and child endangerment. They are being held on 9 million bail. A young athlete and Contra Costa County is now paralyzed from the neck down after being hurt last week during a wrestling match. The college park Statement Reads ryan is well known by friends, teachers and coaches for his charm, exceptional wit and humor. His father, tom joseph, is a former de la salle football and wrestling hall of fame it. The gofundme account has been set up to help with medical expenses, rehabilitation and home accessibility. He has been identified as officer martin lendway. He was investigating a two car crash when a chevy trailblazer came by, hit the officers motorcycle and one of the cars in the earlier crash out of that car ended up on top of officer lendway. Two other approaching cars try to avoid the scene but collided with one another. A total of six cars were involved in that chainreaction crashs. Officer lendway was taken to the hospital with serious but nonlifethreatening injuries. The driver of the trailblazer, 52yearold, tammy walker, of was arrested was arrested on suspicion of dui. Police and chp are asking for help to find a man who stole a box truck and ended up driving the wrong way on a peninsula freeway to get away. The truck driver was making a delivery in San Francisco. When he came out, his truck was gone. The truck owner happened to be on highway 101 in south San Francisco, saw the truck heading south on the freeway near candlestick point. He called the chp. Officers follow the truck as it headed east on the westbound section of highway 237 in sunnyvale until he crashed near the sunnyvale golf course. These people, they dont think. They dont think. This morning we are finding out a woman was arrested last night on suspicion of dui for a crash and concord that seriously injured a chp officer. Alex savidge is live along the highway, highway 4 and concord , with more on this. A horrendous crash. Reporter yes. And a pickup truck landed on top of this chp officer last night. Amazingly enough, the officer is expected to survive. The crash happened just after 6 pm along this stretch of eastbound highway 4 your port chicago highway. Investigators say the officer was on the side of the freeway helping two drivers who had been involved in a minor accident. Thats when an suv veered off the road, first crashing into the officers motorcycle and then slamming into the back of a ford f1 50, one of the two cars involved in the original crash. The impact launched that ford pickup and it landed on top of the chp officer whos been identified as martin lendway. The officer suffered serious injuries but is expected to fully recover. Authorities said the woman who was behind the wheel of a chevy trailblazer, who triggered this crash, 52yearold, tammy walker, was arrested last night on suspicion of felony dui. Walker was also charged with driving on a suspended license after a previous dui conviction. Again, that chp motorcycle officer was hit and had a pickup land on top of him. New video to show you this morning from florida showing dramatic moments where people were jumping out of the casino shuttle boat that was on fire off the gulf coast. 50 people were on the boat, the island lady, when it caught fire on sunday near tampa. You can see people jumping into the water from the boat. One woman died. 15 people were taken to the hospital. Many of those who were on board said the announcement to abandon ship came very fast. People started jumping out one by one and the fire got really quick really fast. And then the crew came on and they started saying they were having engine issues and they directed all of us to jump. The company that owns that shuttle says it never had any problems before with this particular boat. Investigators are still looking for the cause. Caltrans says it could be another week before a section of highway 101 reopens after the mud slides and Santa Barbara county. Crews have not stop their work clearing trees, crushed cars, mud and giant boulders from the highway. Experts say the highway turned in to a catch basin for all the debris. Water levels on 101 have dropped so now they can use bulldozers in the area. At least 20 people died in those mud slides. Three people are still reported missing. We have heard of firefighters rescuing cats stuck in a tree. Look at this. How about rescuing a cat that fell into a well . Just west of petaluma in the community of two rock, a six monthold cat was standing on top of a covered well but the wood was rotting. It gave way. The cat fell into four feet of water to the bottom of a 16 foot well. Firefighters strapped the harness around it and lifted it out. One firefighter was able to get down to where the animal was at and bring a harness to the front and back of the animal. And we were able to haul him up out of the well. That cat was down there about four and a half hours before being rescued. It looks pretty good now. It is mom was nearby but appeared to be happy when they were reunited.
