Lets go back to the desk. A chp motorcycle officer was hurt last night. A car hit him on highway 4 in concord as we investigated a crash. This happened eastbound highway 4 and port chicago highway. The officer had just stepped away from his motorcycle and was investigating the crash when another car hit him. He was rushed to the hospital with major injuries but is expected to survive. The High School Athlete from Pleasant Hill and Contra Costa County is paralyzed from the neck down after being hurt during a wrestling match. Ryan joseph is a sophomore at College Park High school and Pleasant Hill and a member of the wrestling and lacrosse teams. School Officials Say he injured his neck last wednesday during a Junior Varsity match at college park. The schools websites that he needs help breathing and is still at the Medical Center in walnut creek. Visitors are not allowed but the school is encouraging friends and supporters to send cards. A gofundme account has also been set up to help pay medical expenses. We are learning more about a horrifying story from Riverside County in the city of perris where 13 children were found, some change two beds, and living in filthy conditions. His 17 girl escaped on sunday and called 911. Brothers and sisters locked in that home. They were all malnourished and deputies say they were shocked to find out seven were actually adults because there was a physically small. They were between 2 and 29 years old. Investigators say the parents, David Allen Turpin and louise anna turpin, gave no explanation as to why their children were being held captive. Neighbors say they rarely saw those children. Everybody was super skinny and not a flight to skinny, malnourished skinny. We respected their privacy but now it just breaks my heart. It makes me want to cry. The children were giving food and drinks and were taken to hospitals. The husband and wife were booked on felony torture and child endangerment charges. Each is being held on 9 million bail. Police in the chp are asking for help to find a man who stole a box truck and ended up driving the wrong way on the freeway and sunnyvale to get away from the chp. The truck driver was making a delivery in San Francisco. When he came out of the truck came out of the truck, it was gone. The trucks owner happened to be on highway 101 and south San Francisco, saw the truck heading south your candlestick point. He called chp and officers followed the truck as it headed east on the westbound section of highway 237 and sunnyvale. It crashed near the sunnyvale golf course. These people, they dont think. They just try to run away from the police. They dont care what can happen. The thief jumped out of the truck and this slowmotion cellphone video shows chp officers with their guns drawn, chasing the man. He got away. No one was seriously hurt. Sunnyvale police are asking anyone with information about the stolen truck or the person who stole it to call them. A 26yearold man from livermore is in jail after police say he attacked his mother. This assault happened at a parking lot at Stanford Valley care Medical Center in pleasanton. Police say the man punched his mother and she suffered a severe head injury. The suspect, brian bertolli, we are told his mother suffered cuts to her hands and swelling on her eyes and nose. Were told hes facing charges of attempted murder. Four people are still in uc berkeley. They claim they were hurt last february trying to attend a planned parents by conservative plant appearance by milo yiannopoulos. The switch was canceled after protests turned violence. Demonstrators caused 100,000 damage. The university blamed masked agitators for the violence on the campus. Attorneys for the plaintiffs will be holding a News Conference this morning at 11 am. The lawsuit claims the university blames the university for not protecting the rights of those attending the planned speech. The San FranciscoMunicipal Transportation Agency they decide whether to approve a Residential Parking Permit Program in Bernal Heights with new limits. Right now San Francisco households are allowed up to four residential parking permits. The agency is considering reducing that to 1 or 2. And a test program. People in Bernal Heights who have been pushing for the permit say they are needed to prevent commuters from taking over scarce Parking Spaces in the neighborhood. We have news from south carolina where four Law Enforcement officers were shot while responding to a Domestic Violence call. Way home this morning in york county. When they arrived, they say the suspect, a 47yearold man who was attacking a woman, ran away. During the search for the man, he shot four officers. They were taken to a hospital. We do not have any information on their conditions. Eventually the suspect was also shot and was arrested. At home, caltrans says it may be another week before a part of highway 101 reopens after the mud slides and Santa Barbara county. The crews have not stopped clearing trees and crushed cars and mud and boulders from the highway but the experts say the highway turned into a catch basin for all the debris. Water levels on highway 101 have dropped so they can now use bulldozers. 20 people died in mud slides. Three people are still reported missing. A brewery and San Luis Obispo county says its just giving a helping hand to its neighbors to the south of montecito. The slope brewery has switched some of its operations away from beer and are now packaging and sending canned water to victims of the Santa Barbara county mudslides. The brewery staff says it had everything in place to make this work. It made perfect sense. We have this reverse osmosis water sitting around for brewing. We wanted to do our part.
