We are also tracking some coastal flooding that started yesterday and will continue today not just for the coast but inside the bay. High tide is around 10 50 am. All lowlying roadways, something to be aware of. 41 degrees in the inner east bay. 41, santa rosa. Not as chilly as we had been over the weekend when we bottomed out in the 30s. 53, San Francisco. 48, san jose. This afternoon temperatures will be coming up. Low to mid 60s for the north bay. Mid 60s in concord. 62, San Francisco. Upper 60s in the south bay. A Beautiful Day and a dry day but changes are coming. I am tracking wet weather in the extended forecast as early as tomorrow. Lets take a look at the roads. The roadways look good. Not much to tell you about. If your commute takes you through the north bay from fairfield down 80, vacaville, fairfield and vallejo, no problems. Also no problems crossing the carquinez bridge. Pittsburg and hwy four , east on highway four, something just popped up. This is west of port chicago highway offramp. A report of a collision and possibly a vehicle hitting a tree. They have removed those notes in the last couple of minutes. Hopefully thats a good sign that things have cleared. Further south on 80, the drive from the carquinez bridge to the macarthur maze will take you about 17 minutes. 101 in San Francisco just before the 80 split also looks good. We have an update on breaking news from santa clara in the south bay. A large cardboard manufacturing plant in santa clara is on fire on matthew street. This is near de la cruz boulevard. This fire was reported around 3 am. Here are some live pictures. This is happening right now. A huge plant. A lot of firefighters are there. We are told there are card, cardboard bills stacked 15 feet high inside the building. There are fuel storage tanks in the area and highvoltage power lines as well. That increases the danger. Everybody that was inside the building was evacuated. Christien kafton is honestly out there and will bring us a live reports coming up. This is from new york city. A two hour computer outage at u. S. Customs and Border Protections Processing System caused a lot of delays at u. S. Airports for International Travelers. All the airports affected by the problems are now running normally including sfo. Last Night International travelers waited for hours to get through passport control. In addition to sfo the affected airports included seattle, chicago, dallas, fort worth, atlanta, miami and denver. The computer outage is believed to have been caused by technical problems, not a cyberattack. A new Airline Study shows 2017 was one of the safest years on record for flying. There were 10 deadly commercial passenger and cargo plane crashes last year. A total of 44 people were killed. The Aviation Safety Network which watches aviation accidents says the number of deadly crashes were less than the fiveyear average of 17 and 495 deaths. Researchers say aviation safety has improved as more people are flying. There are three times as many people who fly today compared to 25 years ago. We could find out today when the trial will start for the two men charged in the ghost ship warehouse fire in oakland. Derrick almena and max harris are due and Alameda County court at 9 am. A judge is expected to set a trial date. Both are charged with 36 counts of Involuntary Manslaughter for each of the victims killed in the december 2016 fire. Last month in a preliminary hearing, a judge ruled there was enough evidence to move ahead to trial. Sometimes you live with that same pain you come with. We want to try to help to kill the hurting heart. Reporter she is now an advocate for atrisk youth leading the oscar grant foundation. Its a nonprofit she started that protects teenagers by offering scholarships and other opportunities. We are trying to build our youth. We want to build better communities. Investing in our youth is how we get better communities. Reporter the Basketball Team travels across the country competing in tournaments inspiring teenagers to stay in school and stay out of trouble. Thats just one part of johnsons mission. The other is promoting justice. We are wanting more transparency. Shes been pushing for changes in policing. s death did raise pressure on political leaders and Police Departments to do with the issue of gun violence and racial disparities. We want them to invest time in their communities and as they invest time, to work side byside with the communities. When they do that, it will build a better relationship. The officer who shot grant in the back was found guilty of Involuntary Manslaughter and sentenced to two years. More crowds are expected at bay area marijuana dispensaries today now that the sale of Recreational Marijuana is legal in california. While some cities like california are working on certain regulations, Recreational Marijuana can be purchased now at dispensaries in cities that include berkeley, oakland, richmond, san jose and santa cruz. The east bay dispenser league Berkeley Patients Group picked off their sales yesterday morning. The mayor of berkeley was there. He cut the green ribbon. Organizers say its americas oldest operating dispensary. They opened the doors at 6 am yesterday to handle the crowds. Some of whom were standing in line for a couple of hours during the night. Recreational marijuana users also packed dispensaries in the south bay. In san jose, the anticipation and lines started forming and building at 7 pm new years eve. Dispensary kicked off recreational sales with a party complete with a rapper, free coffee and donuts. This sent 300 people in the first two hours of operation. Most were new recreational users. Many customers have questions about how Recreational Marijuana is taxed. California has implemented a 15 excise tax. There is also a sales tax on Recreational Marijuana. Cities can opt to charge a cannabis tax as well. In oakland, dispensaries will charge a 10 tax for recreational uses. That means if you were buying marijuana in oakland, you can be charged a little more than a 34 . Where does the money go . The state says it plans to give some of the money to medical Cannabis Research programs. Substance abuse education, and the chp so it can create new dui rules. Right now we have low tides in the middle of the day and we have a high population of stingrays that have taken up residence on a beach. For some reason they are out here. Reporter and they are out in big numbers causing at least 150 people in the past few days to seek treatment for the painful stings they deliver. When you have people entering the water, they step on them and the people go into a defensive mode. They flip their tail up. Reporter thats what happened to this person who was surfing with a friend when he took a wrong step. Its my first time to america and he wanted to try surfing. I got them to the water. Five minutes later i feel pain in my foot. It really hurts. Reporter kim came to a lifeguard station where the treatment was simple but affect it. If you get stung and the barb stays inside, its pretty painful. The poison spreads. If not, you can expect the pain to last around six hours or so. Reporter lifeguards offer this bit of advice.
