In morgan hill, all the lanes of southbound 101 are shut down because of a multicar crash. This is near coyote creek gulf road. Obviously, the reverse commute direction but it could impact your drive if youre trying to head south on 101. Well take you up north and give you a live look at the bay bridge toll plaza. And you can see very light conditions. Not a lot of people making the trip just yet from the east bay to San Francisco. If youre heading out the door, you are looking good getting into the city right now. And heres a live look at highway 4. I believe thats highway 4. That should be highway 4 coming through bay point. A little bit of a different angle. Thats getting out of bay point, pittsburgh and antioch no problems whatsoever. 4 02 the time. We just spoke to vice chairman of the ntsb about the speed. From a data recorder they know the train was doing 80 Miles Per Hour around a curve when the speed limit was 30 Miles Per Hour. She explained a snapshot. The train was doing 80 when it derailed. Was the engineer speeding up, hitting the brakes, or was it a malfunction . Several People Killed and dozen injured when amtrak train 501 went off the tracks. Shaking really, really badly. And things were falling off the shelf. Reporter a Chain Reaction pushed 12 train cars and an engine off the overpass. Many falling on busy interstate five. When i stepped out i didnt realize i was standing on another train car. Reporter crews have been removing debris and train cars. Speed is being looked at as a major factor. The train was traveling at 80 Miles Per Hour in a 30mile perhour track. Reporter the technology that automatically slows a speeding train was not in use on that section of the track. It would prevent types of accidents such as this. Temperature crash yesterday in Washington State was the first time a train had been used to serve passengers on that particular route. A San FranciscoPolice Officer took his own life in the parking lot of an east bay Shopping Mall after being stopped by an officer from another department. That officer was the target of an investigation and were hearing reports his name is antonio reporter entrances remained blocked off at the parking lot. San Francisco Police investigators called Richmond Police said they had a warrant for the someone involved in an active investigation. A single officer spotted the sedan and shortly after tried to stop it and heard a gunshot from inside the car. He quickly retreated back to the police car and waited for help. As soon as help arrived they werent able to see the interior of the car because the car had window tint all throughout the vehicle. So it was difficult to see inside. San Francisco Police say the chief offered condolences to the San FranciscoPolice Officers family but they would not say why they were investigators that officer. In richmond, ktvu fox 2 news. 20 suspicious fires in san jose during the last week are under investigation. Authorities suspect arson. Almost all of them broke out in the corridor in interstate 880. Many of the fires ignited near homeless encampments, but investigators dont intend the fires were used for cooking or warmth. I doubt that someone who is trying to keep warm is going to set 10 fires in a nearby area. It doesnt seem like an innocent fire to stay warm for the night. Firefighters worry that with the dry and windy conditions, the fires may grow. Witnesses told police they saw someone on a bike carrying a torch. Police detained someone but that person was later released. San bruno police have a lead in the hitandrun death of a pedestrian on skyline boulevard. They found debris from a black saab that may be the car involved. 2004 to 2007, damage to the front passenger side. Anyone who knows of a car that might have been involved is asked to call san bruno police. Investigators are not releasing any other information until relatives are notified. San jose police are investigating a robbery at a walgreens that ended with a Security Guard shooting a man inside the star. It happened at the walgreens on south street at santa clara at 8 30 last night. Police were called to the store after the guard fired his gun. They found a man on the floor with a potentially life threatening injury. He has been taken to the hospital and they are not releasing any information about his condition or his name. The Security Guard is cooperating with the investigation. Tonight the Alameda City Council will debate a major redevelopment project.
