Its going to be a rough day at many airports across the country even though power is back on at the worlds Busiest Airport. The power was out at atlantas hartsfieldjackson airport because of an underground electrical fire. The lights were out in the terminals and the baggage and waiting areas. There was no power on the run ways so flights were canceled or diverted. Travelers had to fend for themselves. And nay also helped people who could not fend for themselves. We havent seen any Emergency Management like Police Officers, firefighters to help with like traffic control. So we were literally carrying old people down the escalators and up escalators and carrying wheelchairs and my heart was racing because im scared for these peoples lives and were like random people trying to evacuate one of the largest airports or most populated airports in the world. Because the Atlanta Airport is so big. Problems there affect the entire system. Hundreds of planes and flight crews were out of place this morning, especially on the east coast. And it may take day for airlines to get everything back on track. In the bay area, were not as badly affected. Oakland and san jose report no canceled flights today although some flights did land a lot later than scheduled last night. And at sfo, two International Nights will arrive today instead of yesterday. And two flights to atlanta are canceled. One on delta and the other on frontier. And an atlanta flight to San Francisco is canceled. An east bay congressman is questioning which Critical Evidence is not preserved for investigators. New legislation will safeguard cockpit voice recordings after three separate dips at San Francisco this year. In one case an air canada jet came close to landing on a taxiway where four fully loaded jets were waiting to take off. None of the incidents were classified as serious. That meant the airlines were not required to hold the cockpit recordings. Everyone can learn from what happened in the evidence is saved. Bart Police Investigating this morning after a man and woman were stabbed right outside the hayward bart station. It happened last night just before 9 30 in the parking lot. Bart police say the victims who were both 28 years old were attacked by three men. They were treated at a hospital but we dont know the conditions. The police have not released any information about a possible motive and they are searching for suspects. If you have any information call bart police. A family outing ended in tragedy after a 6yearold boy and his father were killed at a beach in sonoma county. Three children were playing in Shallow Water and a strong undertow swept one of the boys out to sea. The boys father went in the water and he was swept away too. Rescuers got them in about an hour but neither could be saved. Many of the bay areas most powerful elected leaders joined others in paying tribute to the life of ed lee. He was remembered as a man who served with humility, kindness, and compassion. Leigh martinez attended the public memorial that celebrated the life of the 43rd mayor of San Francisco. Reporter people waited in a line that stretched out and around city hall to honor the late mayor ed lee. A Richmond Police officer is accused of firing shots inside a San Francisco hotel. It happened at the Four Seasons Hotel on market street. Several streets in the area were closed as they tried to convince the officer to come out of his room. He surrendered peacefully and was taken into custody. Investigators are trying to figure out why the officer fired his weapon. The male is in custody and he is an off duty Police Officer with the Richmond Police department. San Francisco Police say the officer fired multiple rounds from a handgun but they have not said whether it was his department issued firearm.
