Today both sides will go back to the bargaining table trying to reach an agreement. They have been on strike since last tuesday and the walkout is affecting everyone from head start programs and Library Services to Parking Enforcement and building inspections. This morning the news about the Southern California fires, the fire that started last monday in Ventura County now moved into Santa Barbara county. It has burned 359 square miles and containment has dropped as the flames spread. High winds pushed the fire into new areas and more than 90,000 people are now forced out of their homes across the two counties. Some fire crews who had been working in los angeles and san diego counties are being sent back north. Thats because the fires in those counties are 75 contained or more.
