The Fire Department says all 29 people have some kind of injury ranging from cuts and bruises to something more serious. Four of them were seriously hurt. Here is a map to show you where this happened. It occurred in the southbound direction on highway 101 just before the cesar chavez exit. Reporter we just got an update from the Fire Department. They still have three lanes of southbound highway 101 before cesar chavez offramp. That is the bus that tipped over. It fell over on the right side. Many of the passengers were able to get out. Some of them were trapped and they had to break through some of the windows. Apparently there were some people who were able to get out who had minor injuries. Others were more seriously injured. They had to break through some of the windows. In order to access it to get some people out. There were a number of people who were seriously injured. They issued a red alert to have all available ambulances coming to the scene. The Fire Department said at this point they set up a triage sensor. At the next street over to handle people who had minor injuries and take them to San Francisco general hospital. As you mentioned this was a chartered bus. It was a party bus. The Fire Department spokesperson talk to us about the moments when they arrived. Our crews immediately were assisting individuals coming out the bus that had a wide variety of injuries. They were walking wounded. We did eventually have two individuals that were physically rescued by members of rescue 1. We currently have a total of 29 injuries. Reporter back here you can see we are pointing at northbound 101. Traffic has been slowed to a single lane. There is a backup all the way up 101. If you come around here we have crews that are still here evaluating the scene. We asked them if they have any idea what the cause of the accident was. They are still trying to do interviews and find out what caused the bus to tip over. The bus driver was very helpful. He was trying to make sure all the other passengers got medical treatment. 29 people have been injured. At this point they do not believe any of those injuries are lifethreatening. There are serious injuries. They will keep an eye on that. We will get an update shortly from the chp spokesperson. Three lanes in southbound 101 are close right now. I think with this bus still on its side they will have to continue finishing the investigation and try to figure out how to get it off the freeway. It could be a long time. Thieves broke into a pot club and got away with marijuana and smoking paraphernalia worth 600,000 from that is a large amount of product to have.
