As the officer responded, he was attacked. This was just after midnight. This is near third street. That officer was on a bicycle, on patrol when he got into this scuffle. He was attacked by those men. That officer called for backup after being punched. Police showed up, backup arrived including officers from san jose. They took three men into custody. To of those attackers in this case were injured. They were taken to the hospital and transported one was tased during this. The other was struck with the baton several times. We dont have the latest on the extent of their injuries. The officer was punched in the face and suffered a broken nose. The officer have been released from the house itll. Hospital. Cutting federal funding to sanctuary cities has been blocked. The federal judges head it was unconstitutional. The president cannot set new conditions on funding that congress has already approved. An officer was attacked by several men while on attack. Reporter good morning. The state Police Officer initially was responding to a call about a group of students who had been confronted by three young men who were not teutons. As the officer responded, he was caught offguard an attack by one of those men. It happened here, outside of the hammer theater. This theater is operated by the university. The assault happened just after midnight. That Police Officer was punched repeatedly by one man. That included at least one blow to the officers face. The sergeant called for backup. Other officers arrived from the Police Department and the city of san jose took three men into custody. Two men were injured in the process. One was tased, the other was hit with a baton. A spokeswoman for the universitys told me that she is disappointed by this entire situation. My thoughts go to everyone involved. These men are in their 20s. They are the same age as our students. All of these people involved were young people. We care about all of them. Yes, we also are concerned about our officers. The University Says the 23 yearold man is accused of attacking the officer and punching him. He is now facing assault charges. The other two men who were taken into custody are facing charges of resisting a less arrest. All three men are suspected gam gang members. A lawsuit has been filed by residents of a Senior Living facility claiming these that did not evacuate many residents during the firestorm. The lawsuit says more than 70 elderly residents were abandoned by staff members. The families of two a residents arrived and evacuated all the residents they could find. Homeowners who lost their homes in the wildfires has 24 months to collect payments. Some companies brought in out ofstate adjusters to help with the claims. They incorrectly told homeowners that they had between 60 and 12 months to collect payments. 14,000 structures were damaged or destroyed. 3. 2 billion in insured losses have been a result of that fire.
