Five people including the gunman are dead. Ten more are wounded. That includes two children. One at the Elementary School and one who was on the way to school. Neighbors say this they had complained in the past about this gunman shooting on his property and Authorities Say he was out on bail after being charged with stabbing a neighbor. They had been called about a domestic dispute involving him the day before. The District Attorney identified the gunman as kevin jansen neil. That photograph is from early their year when he was taken in to custody on a charge of assault with a Deadly Weapon. The city is on the northern end of the central valley. The one guilty stopped behind me and say that someone killing people. I say no. Who is and he thats me and he shooting me five times. Reporter there were seven different crime scenes. The assistant sheriff came upon a woman trying to drive herself to the hospital. She was wounded along with one of her children. She told me that she doesnt know this person, never saw this person, doesnt know why he started shooting. They she was just passing by him. Reporter next came his assault on the Elementary School where the morning bell hadnt rung and kids were still outside playing as gun fire approached. It was a really horrible scene as described by the teachers of multiple rounds being fired. Reporter the superintendent said that staff got the kids inside, ducking for cover, seconds before he reached the quad and started spraying walls and windows. Even trying to open locked doors. I was actually told by a secretary who sent an email while crouching under her desk and reaching up to type on the keyboard. Reporter one boy was struck through the wall but will survive. Another victim was shot and killed in front of the school. I seen the guy after he got shot. Reporter this resident lives near the campus where it finally ended. The stolen car forced off the road. He opened fire and officers returned it. I feel sorry for his family, not for him. If he is willing to shoot children, sorry, i got no pity. Reporter police recovered two hand guns and a rifle. Police say that the 59yearold ran doll cito escaped sunday morning from hawaii State Hospital. Then he caught a charter flight and flew from hawaii to san jose. Authorities say that he has serial killer tendencies. He had been held at the State Hospital for 30 years. He was missing for almost ten hours before hospital officials notified the authorities. Not just locked up. They arent just subject to treatment or given medication. They are given opportunities to pursue individual interests and individual activities. Yesterday federal agents were at san jose airport checking video. The agents found what they were looking for but didnt give us any details. A taxi Company Released this video. This is him in a cab on his way to the airport. Investigators say he used a cell phone to call the cab company and told them his name was bill. A female driver picked hup up and drove him 20 minutes to an area near the airport and he paid the driver about 50 cash. Investigate searches found his jacket in a dumpster near where he was dropped off. They also found receipts showing he had mailed a package to an address. After the first of the year in six weeks. By me being called the n word and others being called that word i know it made be feel worthless basically and stressed me out. He filed a Class Action Lawsuit accusing the company of race based discrimination and failing to prevent discrimination and harassment. It said hise mailed complaints were about tesla shuttles and his commute with no mention of Racial Discrimination. They said that the lawyer who filed the lawsuit has a long track record of extorting money. They said they would rather pay ten times the settlement demand in legal fees than give into extortion. Uber is also being sued. It said thousands of female passengers have been raped, beaten or harassed while using ride share service. The lawsuit was filed yesterday in San Francisco federal court and two women identified as jane doe one and two are the lead plaintiffs. They are seeking class action status and accuse uber of relying on low cost background checks on drivers. They claim they were assaulted by drivers who gave them rides home. Uber said the lawsuit is being reviewed and that the Company Takes allegations of sexual wrongdoing very seriously. We also understand that according to the Sheriffs Office they are concerned there could be more shooting victims by the time its all said and done. The Vice President said saddened to hear of the shooting in Northern California. The loss of life and injuries including innocent children. We commend the effort of Law Enforcement and will continue to monitor the situation and provide support as we pray for comfort and healing for all impacted. We are still following developing news from richmond where four people were shot last night near Hilltop Green park around 7 30. Police now confirm one victim has died. We dont know the persons name and there is no information about the conditions of the other shooting victims. One person was airlifted to a hospital. Richland police are searching for suspects. They dont have descriptions or a motive for that shooting. San jose police are announcing a now policy for locking at their officers use of force. The Police Supervisors and commander also be expected to investigate nearly every violent encounter including officers. Each incident will be graded on a scale. More violent incidents will receive more scrutiny. In the past most nonfatal use of force case was only investigated when someone complained. San jose police chief said he worked the police union on drafting this new policy and he daysack mol that a more complete oversight could lead to more of his officers being reprimanded. Correctional officers in santa clara say changes at the jail put them in danger. The union filed a complaint saying that the Sheriffs Office failed to give the guards notice about changes apt the county jail. One change, allowing large numbers of inmates to exercise together. The union said that is dangerous because gangs work out together as a show of force. The sheriff issued this response to that as sheriff im along with the new chief of corrections am firmly committed to both ensuring the safety of all custody staff and that inmates are treated fairly. Bruce maxwell pleaded not guilty to charges of assault. He was arrested last month. A woman who was delivering food to him said that he pointed a gun at her. He faces charges of assault with a Deadly Weapon and disorderly conduct. He is right now out on bail and due back in court december 28th for pretrial conference. Businesses owners are calling for the city to take action on a homeless camp they say is bringing drugs and trash to the streets. That cam suspect located near interstate 880 and high street. Needles litter the ground in the area. Business owners say that they are fed up with what they call blatant drug use and drug deals associated the homeless camp beside interstate 880. Bun Business Owner doesnt want to be identified say that people go through an opening in the fence and cross under 880 to get to the homeless tents on the other side and he said that is where the drug deals take police. The cars come up and they they will stop in the middle of street and put their hazards on or their hoods up like their car is broken. They get out and buy their drugs and get back in their cars and leave. We will come up with a plan to not just push it from one jurisdiction to another, that we Work Together to come up with solutions to this problem.
