Over 40 people have died and in the deadliest series of fires. Californias insurance commissioner spoke thursday about the loss of insured property. The grand total of these insured losses to date is 1. 045 billion. Just over 1 billion in insured losses cleaned today. Reporter that figure is based on claims submitted to the eight largest insurers in the affected areas. More than 4000 partial residential losses, 5500 total residential losses, 600 commercial property and 3000 vehicle losses. The commissioner stressed the current amount is preliminary mostly because many people are still in the immediate recovery mode and have not thought about the insurance process yet.
