Some of these are not from people who were directly threatened by fire. Everybody who is watching what firefighters have been doing throughout the entire north bay. They are putting not only signs on the street but also bottled water and snacks hoping if they can help ecru or First Responder on their way to or from someplace they are happy to do it. Just up the road from sonoma is the Small Community of glen ellen. Another part of Sonoma Valley that has been hit by fires. Rob has a firsthand look at the situation. Reporter the stores are closed the streets empty. Almost every resident has evacuated. She returned with her husband to see what the fire did to her home on odonnell lane. It is really shocking. It is just amazing. The trees. We cannot replace them. Reporter if this isnt enough she lost three rental homes nearby to the fire. Her partner and artist lost dozens of paintings. I had some of my great grandmothers cabinets and dishes. And stuff that came from massachusetts. Reporter one man whose property survived return to check on his horses. Im coming to make sure they have food and water. And then assess the situation. If we can we will get them out and take them somewhere else. That has been our concern for the last 24 hours. How are we going to make sure they are okay. Reporter the downtown landmarks are standing. Giving life to rumors it had leveled the town. In napa county calistoga remains evacuated tonight with Officials Saying the tubs fire is still burning two or three miles outside the city limits. The residents were ordered to leave yesterday. The mayor says First Responders will not be available to help people that choose to stay. One resident says he is rolling willing to take the risk. Once i leave i cannot get back in. That is my main concern. Im not leaving until it is time to go. He says he has an escape plan in case the fire sweeps down the hill to his house. Officials say they cannot say when the calistoga Evacuation Order will be lifted. There was still concern about a different fire. We have been seeing claims often on and the hills. Which is north of domain winery. There is some people here firefighters who have come back from fighting the fire out here on the west side. One of the things that is good is that it is cooler here. The winds have not picked up. There have been some relief crews that have come in to help. West of highway 29 orange flames near oakville a reminder the danger looms for napa. This is the worst. Reporter volunteer fire chief one of many battling the fire since sunday. Fire threatened napa from the west. We have had significant fire activity the last couple days. Is working down to dry creek. Reporter reinforcements from Ventura County arrived parking near homes for protection. A welcome relief. Flareup threatened nearby veterans home. Others on standby for evacuation. I think our neighborhood is questionable. This is the largest fire we have seen. Who knows what it is going to do. Our houses on the edge of it. Reporter one sad part of all of this story is that napa county Officials Say there is still 58 people who have been reported missing and not found. They are hopeful that will become less of the Cell Phone Service comes up. They are investigating every single one. People should not go into the evacuated areas. There is still trees that can fall over and power lines compromise and other dangers. They are urging people not to go in. Their resources are stretched thin by the fires. Some people who live in the area where the atlas fire started on sunday night are being led back into their homes. Mandatory Evacuation Orders were lifted for some areas near the silverado country club. One person went back home. He says he is grateful his home narrowly avoided the fire. The air Quality Management district says air pollution levels of the worst they have recorded. They are recommending people stay inside and set your air conditioning to recirculate indoor air. The main concern is tiny particles that can lodge in your lungs or get into your bloodstream. Air filtration mask are hard to find as a result. It makes you dizzy. As you get older in age it gets more extreme. You can just smell the smoke. I dont have asthma or any medical issues. I understand why people are wearing the masks. School districts are canceling classes because of the airquality. Mount diablo in west Contra Costa County unified School Districts will be closed tomorrow along with all Public Schools in marin county. We are going to show you the symptom of those fires. The last few nights. This in particular is this evening sunset. It is eerie. It is spooky. It is telling. That is not smoke. That is not cloud cover. That is straight up smoke. There is a lot of it. Airquality is bad. We will continue with the smoke in these airquality issues throughout the weekend. A lot of fire is burning. The big ones we talk about. There are little fires like the complex less people affected. The pocket fire. The sulfur fire. All these fires producing smoke. When i am showing you is what the winds are doing. There is some smoke in the napa area and hercules. I want to show you the peak us. We are concerned about the opportunity for firefighters to make some progress. After sunday night there was a day when there wasnt much they can do what get people out the way. Yesterday and today and tomorrow they are getting a break. They are doing a lot of eardrops. What happens. Friday not bad. That helps the humidity. Right around midnight it goes. There is a red flag warning initiating. Is stays pretty gusty that is the most dangerous winds. At eight it is still northerly. When you get this easterly component 3 am or 4 am in the morning. This is when the issues could be. That is the forecast model. It also drops the winds off quickly after that. The spot that everyone is talking about is that 6 am in the morning. Red flag warnings not in effect now. It will be tomorrow afternoon through the evening. You cannot say this enough. Tomorrow is your break. The weather is cooperating. For october.
