Such a crazy story. Lee . Thats right. Its Early Morning hours here, too. The dive team will get here around sunrise to begin the salvage efforts here. The shipping company was able to secure some its containers but about five or six of the metal containers sank. The salvage operations begin today. The coast guard told us it is received a report at 2 36 thursday afternoon that 11 containers have fallen off the cargo ship named malmaxa. The good news is that they were all empty and there was none contamination of the day but the containers are heavy, coming in two sizes. The lighter ones weigh 4000 pounds and the heavier ones more than 8000 pounds. Its unclear what caused them to fall. Thats under investigation. The vessel operator, the coast guard and others will begin looking into the cause of this. At this point, we dont know. Reporter the coast guard sent out an Investigation Team the coast guard will determine if the company will face any fines or penalties but the port spokesperson says that it appears unlikely since the containers were all empty. The vessel traffic on thursdays and fridays is pretty light. They wont have any disruptions. As of right now, we dont see any movement over by the ship. He was here buying produce for his stores. He he was hit by a speeding stand. Police are investigating whether people in that car were possibly running from the scene of a shooting that just happened a few blocks away around the same time this morning.
