The hollister Police Officer tried to pull the car over for the vehicle code violation, unaware of the theft that had taken place at the supermarket. The driver of the car sped away. During the early stages of the pursuit the Hollister Police car collided with an suv that pulled out in front of him at the intersection. The Sergeant Mike patty had to be rushed to the hospital with serious injuries but he is expected to recover.
