They can only be utilized if the city gets the person 24 hours notice and the offer of available shelter or housing or their positions might be seized. Supervisor offered the ordinance. I thought it should be the policy to encourage people to get into housing. Not to condone or institutionalize 10 encampments. Now it is starting to get implemented. We see dramatic success. With the cases we have so far. Reporter 152 notices have been issued. Deputy director of the department of homelessness in support of housing says those notices came during a sixweek Pilot Program when beds were available at a navigation sensor. We were able to offer those two people experiencing homelessness and living in tents. Over 92 of the people were taking us up on those offers. It never needed to be enforced. No ones personal property needed to be seized. Reporter those who Turndown Services were asked to leave. The encampment she left and was swept up in july. I even had a big sidewalks sign what happened to our 24 hour written notice and our permanent place to go. She ended up at a navigation sensor. And now she is trying to find permanent housing.
