Forecasters say it is still early to predict exactly where and wind that irma will hit florida, but the most recent model suggesting he could make landfall late saturday or early sunday. Hurricane irma is battling through the caribbean with many preparing for the landfall with the bay area crews ready to help if necessary. Many in florida are preparing to flee the area meaning that crews from all over the nation, particularly from the bay area, preparing to go help out. We have approximately 100 pg e employees departing tomorrow to had the florida help support the Florida Power and light. We will alert the people and work sidebyside to help in the aftermath of the storm. We will be sending linemen, supervisors, and support personnel. The bulk of the work will be the linemen work, the work we do here in the traditional storms or earthquakes. They will be restoring power, fixing equipment, being out in the field the way you see in these blue trucks. We will be out there with the Florida Power light safely working to complete the job. Thats right, in 2014 we signed a mutual aid agreement with Florida Power light essentially saying that they have a major disaster like a hurricane we will be there for them, and vice versa like if we have an earthquake, they will be here to support us. I know you are tracking on Hurricane Irma. We will focus on us right now, all low level radar so a chance of rain. We could see a break in the clouds. We had some of this offshore but fizzled out before can move on short. From San Francisco to novato we have had reports, but you can see theres nothing there. There is underneath but not showing up on the radar, and some lightning focusing up toward the northern Sacramento Valley and the tiara. Sierra. One is staying up, the lows but the highs inching downward to near 70. 68 at san jose, 68 santa clara, 65 morgan hill and sam martin. The delta breeze is alive and well, gusting up to almost 30. California crier fire crews making some progress against the fires across the state and they have gained full containment of the three largest fires, they have 90 containment near yosemite, as well as the ones in view county and lake county. The largest fires remaining out ofcontrol are in Siskiyou County and trinity county. The fire burning in gilroy is 80 contained, 4900 wildfires this season which is 1200 more than this time last year. The San Francisco medical examiner said the last weekend heat wave has been linked to the death of at least three people in the city with temperatures in San Francisco hitting the record high of 106 on friday. The heat probably contributed to the death of the three people and they were over 80 years old. The city is looking for ways those desk couldve been prevented but they did set up airconditioning shelters for those that felt they needed to get out of the heat. The standoff between the suspect and the Police Department ended peacefully after the oakland Police Department was tracking a number of suspects involved in Violent Crime and located one in richmond located near the bayview avenue. We used the alternative means such as his family to appeal to him to come out and peacefully surrender. After approximately one hour the suspect surrendered and he was taken into custody. And alameda there is a hate Crime Investigation into the teacher found a noose on the campus and we spoke with the students and parents upset about this. Reporter the four foot long noose found by the teachers to the Tennis Courts at Alameda High School tuesday afternoon and heres a picture of it after it was removed. The School Resource officer responded and found what appeared to be the noose hanging from the fence and laying on the sidewalk. Reporter they do not have any suspects but they know where that rope came from. The rope used was taken from the fence at the school where it has a privacy curtain. Generally that privacy curtain is held up by the rope that goes through the islets of the fans. Reporter the parents were notified through robo call within one hour of the incident. We denounce any hatred or bigotry, and we know that our high school stands behind us on that. Reporter this is a serious thing, and ancestral thing. A senior at Alameda High School, the percentage of African American students is just over 5 . That noose is hurtful. We see the climate happening around the country, so we understand. When i heard about this, it was hurtful. And you go into protection mode in terms of your son because you care about their safety. Reporter many students had not heard about the incident. I am concerned about it based on the fact of the amount of white kids here. It is a small amount of African Americans. It is disgusting. A man facing felony charges in accused of shooting and killing the deer and the fawn grazing in the front yard, arrested for killing the animals with a highpowered pellet rifle. He said he was sick of the deer eating his expensive landscaping and both deer were found with multiple wounds. When the Humane Society arrived they were both dead. The state parole board granted parole to Leslie Van Houten, the former follower of Charles Manson, and she served over 40 years in prison and now 68 years old but convicted in the 1969 killing of the wealthy los angeles couple one day after other manson followers killed five people including actress sharon tate who was pregnant at the time. The parole board said that Leslie Van Houten has been a model prisoner but Governor Brown has 120 days to comment on the decision. The aid for those that see the major impact includes up to 10,000 in the city support, along with oneonone business consulting, and needed repairs and upgrades. Bart plans on creating a new Transit Village at the walnut creek bart station. That includes a new parking garage with 100 parking spots added. The future plans call for 596 apartments, shops, restaurants and public pauses with views of mount diablo. The work is expected to be done on saturday and will be carried out in stages.
