It was a touching sight. People were saluting or had their hands on their hearts and afterwards officers were seen hugging and comforting one another. Reporter it was a procession fit for a hero. A united front to honor and remember Sergeant Scott lunger who died paying the ultimate sacrifice. Shot and killed during a traffic stop wednesday morning. He was a family guy. Enjoyed life. Enjoyed fishing. Enjoyed his friends. Reporter her husband is a former Police Officer who was Sergeant Scott lungers friend. She was among those who came to pay their respects as well as Police Departments near and far. That is the most difficult task to do in this profession, remove the badge from our uniform to place a black band on it. Reporter he goes that too well. While he didnt know Sergeant Scott lunger his uncle was killed in the line of duty in 1998. She lost her husband a Police Officer in 2008. She is now helping Sergeant Scott lungers family through the tragedy. They are in shock. They are living a nightmare that they wish they wouldnt. Reporter police are thankful for the support. Evident in the memorial outside police headquarters. This man admits he had run ins with the law before and didnt like officers but now has a change of heart. It is from the corner of 107 and beverly in oakland which is where the suspect lives. You can get a good look at it. It appears to show the car pull in or near the suspects driveway. He was expected to be released from had hospital this afternoon the hospital this afternoon. That hasnt happened yet. At last check police said mark estrada has not been released from the hospital yet. They will not take anyone into the jail who has not been medically cleared. They still expect that to happen at some point today. When that does happen, when the suspect is released from the hospital he will be booked here. And his mugshot will be taken. This is where he will await charges. I have been contact with the District Attorneys Office who tells me no charges have been filed yet today. That could come tomorrow.
