Khiamniungan Tribal Council (KTC) has strongly opposed the Central government’s decision to scrap the Free Movement Regime (FMR) and erect fencing along the India-Myanmar border. In a press release, KTC president L. Ngon and general secretary P. Hatho asserted that the “arbitrary imaginary line” stretching from BP139 Thongsonyu to BP146 ITC (DAN) Pangsha was “neither consented nor accepted” by Khiamniungan people.
