He was sentenced today at a federal court in San Francisco. The judge allowed several victims statements to be read into the record, including one from nancy pelosi who said that her husband is still struggling with his injuries and that shes in favor of the maximum sentence. The path is also facing 6 felony counts in state court, including premeditated attempted murder and burglary. Jury selection in that trial is set to begin next week. The man convicted of breaking into former House Speaker nancy pelosi is home and assaulting her husband with a hammer 2 years ago. A federal judge on friday sentenced him 30 years in prison for salt in 20 years of attempted kidnapping. The federal official, the sentences will run concurrently. The government wanted to say here is that we have to protect. Our governmental officials and we have to protect our american system of democracy. And this was much bigger than just the pelosi family. This was sent to the community. And i think that was loud and clear. Legal analyst steven clark says the sentencing could determine the outcome of dip happes upcoming state trial. In the east bay, martinez residents might see flaring this month because the Martinez Refining Company is finishing major maintenance project late last month that began restarting equipment to make sure that theyre processing units are in good shape. The company says that flares are essential part of their system to safely manage exus combustible gases while burning them off efficiently. They say and effectively the martinez refinery hopes to minimize or prevent any flaring during this process. More than 70 Million Dollars has gone into upgrading equipment. Happening tonight, highway 37 will be closed again this weekend between sonoma and solano counties. Caltrans will be working on a repaving project. They say theyll have detours beginning at the highway. 37 highway one. 21 interchange near sears point. The closure will begin tonight at 10 and will run through 5 oclock in the morning monday. Also happening tonight, lanes of us. I 6, 8, are going to close this weekend in san ramon starting at 9 in alaska through 4 oclock nday morning. The partial closure is one of 2 with another set for the weekend of may 31st. On sunday participants, a bay to breakers will start on main street in San Francisco around 08 00am and make their way all the way to ocean beach on the other end of the city, the costumes are always a big draw.
