Yeah. The mateo board of supervisors actually unanimously approved millions of dollars for this new housing robbers. Michael thomas is in Half Moon Bay for us this morning with the latest on the story. Michael. Hey, good morning, everyone. This new funding really will allow up to a 50 manufactured new homes. And take a look. This is actually the area where its going to be happening. At some point. Theyre still going through that permit process. But its going to include helping some of those that were displaced from last years mass shooting. Now, take a look. These are some renderings that were put out by the county officials. And as james and ari mentioned, mateo county board of supervisors approved it yesterday. And that amount is up to 6 Million Dollars close to it to build Affordable Housing for coastal farm workers. And these renderings are showing that its called pine cove and its at the end of a culdesac. Its about a half mile away from Half Moon Bay. Haha, excuse me. And its going to be about 5 acres or so. This is city owned property inland and well, it was just approved this week. This ad actually stems from the county Commission Report that was done about a decade ago back in 2016. Take a look. These are photos that we have of what the conditions were looking like for farm workers during that mass shooting when they investigated. This is what they found. And so county Officials Say they are happy to move and make things quicker making this all happened. But again, it stemming from reports of back in 2016 at that time they found that they needed to improve the quality availability and affordability of housing for farmworkers in the area. So theyre hoping to do this at some point soon. But right now theyre still in that permit process. Theres a new bill in sacramento that would create a fund to assist communities that otherwise wouldnt qualify for assistance. A group of lawmakers introduced this bill yesterday to create 100 Million Dollars in this really fun for those who are not eligible for federal or state assistance due to the extent of damages to the community or because of their immigration status. Mean, youre youre just seeing some of the damage that storms and whatnot has caused. It would establish also 400 Million Dollar california local Assistance Program to help tribal and local governments to rebuild after disasters. Its a winwin across the state. Hopefully nothing ever happens. But if it does, we have a plan for our communities that are going to suffer because once again, we cant rely on the federal government because of all the bring at least we have our own fun here. We should create a Sustainable Program that will make sure that for any future to know that if they dont qualify for federal assistance, that the state will step in. And make sure that these communities are taking care of. The money would come from the states current Greenhouse Gas reduction fund. Right now, there is no formal opposition to this bill. Latino teachers and Community Members of oak Grove Unified School District plan to picket today ahead of the school board meeting. Their goal is to reinstitute the bilingual liaison and commit to Language Justice in policy in daily practice. The Community Leaders say the removal of the liaison, which happened in march, has her parents trying to voice their concerns and recommendations that directly affect their children. The rally happens today at the oak grove district around 4. 30. Will 2 people, including a teenage girl are in the hospital now after being struck by a hit and run driver in San Francisco. Was happening as police were chasing the driver from the tenderloin through north beach and then the chase ended right outside our kron. 4 studios here along the embarcadero kron fours dan kerman has the story. Its here along the embarcadero at green street where San Francisco police took the hit and run suspect into custody. This after at least the 3rd incident of the day when the white mustang he was driving slammed into this parked car. No one was injured at this location, but thats not the case at the other locations put and im like police say. It all began just before 08 00am the suspects vehicle hit a pedestrian near jones and market tire tracks are clearly visible. The victim, an urban alchemy employee, was taken to a local hospital and will survive. Police say a few blocks away. Officers spotted the suspects vehicle driving recklessly when the suspect failed. The yield when officers initiated a traffic stop. Police say a vehicle pursuit began about 9. 30. The chase reached francisco middle school. Its their police say the suspects vehicle hit a 14 yearold girl who was crossing francisco street from the main campus to the auxiliary campus so that there was crossing the street from building to building and was in the crosswalk. And the guy was running out of, you know, running. Because the police often. So put the good here. Have the good he can run supervisor. Aaron peskin who represents that neighborhood says the girl was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with a fractured shoulder and ankle. But will survive. Its at that point. Police Department Says officers arrested 17 felony arrests. 18 warrant arrests and 52 arrests for misdemeanors. A driver now facing multiple charges in connection with a crash in san jose that killed a bicyclist yesterday. We say that driver was speeding on east capitol expressway near andrew hill.
