Meantime, the city of oakland is embracing some positive trends when it comes to crime. The most recent Oakland Police statistics show Violent Crime has dropped in several key categories, specifically homicides and assaults are down compared with this same time last year, congress recessed osseo unpacks the numbers for us and examines what the city says is the reason behind the drop and what areas they do want to contince to improve upon. Authorities arrested 100 people there. Police also arrested dozens of protesters at Washington University in st. Louis, missouri video captured as steve to marry a 65 yearold history professor was being taken down by Police Officers. Campus violence should face disciplinary action specifically from a legislative standpoint. Republicans are demanding the state cut budget funding for those administrators and rescind cal grant taxpayer funded scholarships for students convicted of violating the law during the unrest. We should not be given cal grant money state money to students or a in other peoples rights. Weve had jewish students who fear for their lives going to that should not be the case on our university campuses. And theres got to be some accountability for that. These republicans say they have had private conversations and garnered some support behind the scenes from the democratic colleagues. But all major Democratic Leaders have yet to provide a direct public response to the republican proposal. Governor Gavin Newsoms office directed us to his statement from wednesday saying the law is clear the right to free speech does not extend to inciting violence, vandalism or lawlessness on campus.
