Now, according to officials, they say it happened saturday afternoon in San Franciscos west portal neighborhood on a low, a street at the time. A driver of an suv slammed into a muni bus shelter while driving eastbound on alloa. According to officials, 2 people died at the scene. It said to be the father and one of the children. And then the mother later died in the hospital yesterday. Neighbor tell us a family of 4 were at the scene and that infant is still in the hospital this morning in critical condition. The driver of that suv was also injured at the accident fishel say its still under investigation and they do not believe Traffic Engineering was a factor. We spoke to a Sustainable Transportation advocate. He started a petition to close off this intersection when it comes to cars all around. Take a listen to what they had to say. Well, happening today, we got a pretrial proceedings are set to start this morning. Thats in the case of the 2018 fatal crash involving a tesla. Now the lawsuit alleges teslas autopilot system caused the crash. Kron fours will tran is live in san jose with more on the story. Will. James tesla is on trial more specifically its autopilot system. And its going to happen in about 2 and a half hours. At a courthouse right behind me. Let me show you the video. It was nearly 6 years ago march of 2018 when walter he was going through Mountain View on 101. Now, according to tesla, he was not the driver that autopilot was engaged and that they claim he repeatedly ignored warnings to take control of the vehicle. Why is that important . Because walter wrongs family says that the auto pilot was engaged at the time, should have made sure that there was no crash. What happened was all of a sudden his car veered into a Center Divider head on basically ripping the car in half at a divider. Tesla says that the autopilot system is not a guarantee system where you will never get into a crash. It just makes it less likely to occur. The ntsb, they did look into this case and came up with the conclusion 18 months after the crash. The said that autopilot system was not working properly, that it missed the lane markings before the fatal collision. Tesla says that repeatedly, as i mentioned, ignored, retaking the wheel. So lots going on with this case. This impacts millions of tesla owners in this particular case, was driving a model x we shall see whats going to happen with this case. But we do know its going to happen in about 2 and a half hours from now. Whatever happens with this case will have ripple effects throughout the country because tesla, its so popular. I got to tell you, i did a story last year about a recall and tesla did make advancements in the autopilot system where if you are not engaged, it will not engaged the autopilot system. All right. Well thank you very much. Meantime, teslas settled multimillion dollar Racial Discrimination lawsuit. This is actually the second settlement stemming from a lawsuit followed by own diaz black man who worked as an elevator operator at the companys fremont plant. Police say a person was stabbed to death on University Avenue yesterday afternoon between san pablo avenue in sacramento Street Police arrested one person believed to have been involved. Plenty of police are investigating the suspicious death of a man was found badly burned. Contra costa fire crews called police on saturday after discovering a person who was severely burned and deceased right in the back area of the 2900 block of mill in court crime scene investigators took over the case. The person cause of death will be determined by a medical examiner. And the north bay. A man is recovering from major injuries after a drunk driver hit that mans car rohnert park. Police shared the picture of the aftermath. It happened just after 02 30am morning, right . Intersection of rohnert park expressway in commerce boulevard. Police say a woman driving a red Toyota Pickup truck have 2 men riding with her when she crashed into the grace eye on. This is the driver failed a sobriety test. She and her 2 passengers are expected to be okay. However, the man driving the gres scion had to be extracted from the car, taken to the hospital for surgery. We dont have any word on his condition at this time. The Petaluma Police say the 2 drunk drive s crashed into a motorcycle and a culdesac in separate accidents. Police say the first crash happened at 10, 54 saturday night when a man rear ended a motorcycle while driving on petaluma boulevard. Northbound. They say he admitted to getting behind the wheel while under the influence. The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with a possible broken leg. Then a few hours later, officers say a man crashed his car into a roundabout and then ran away from the area. This happened shortly after midnight on sunday. This was on south mcdowell boulevard and baywood drive. They say they found him hiding in between houses a few blocks away. Both drivers were booked into the county jail. Deputies using a helicopter to rescue the camper from the campgrounds. First responders for the patient to an awaiting air ambulance, which transfer them to a local hospital. No word on the patients condition. I just responding to a crash in San Franciscos Pacific Heights neighborhood citizen app video shows a car flipped over on its side. No word yet on what caused the crash to happen. In the east bay, Alameda County now is getting 30 Million Dollars for street improvements from oakland to san leandro, u. S. Department of transportation gave the money to the bay greenway project. That project plans to install protected bikeways improve pedestrian crossings and put more benches and lighting at bus stops. Now, more trouble for United Airlines on a flight leaving sfo this time. The problem was discovered until the plane landed in oregon. Weve got kron fours dan thorn to explain. Another issue for United Airlines flight leaving sfo after landing at Rogue Valley International medford airport friday afternoon. United aircraft was found without an external panel. Medford airport spokesperson says they were forced to briefly pause operations on the runway to look for any debris. None was found. This is a very minor incident in the grand scheme of things. Retired commercial Airline Pilot doug rice says. The external panel is an aluminum fairing which helps smooth the air against the plane. Making for a smoother ride. This specific boeing 7. 37. Is a 25 yearold aircraft. And rice says at that age metal fatigue can set these aircraft, go through a significant amount of maintenance they should be catching these things. What were learning now is that we have to be more aware of these things as they go through maintenance and double checking and triple checking the this latest issue for united is making some passengers feel uneasy on thursday. A flight approaching sfl had a hydraulic leak with some smoke seen by the landing gear. Last week, a japanbound plane lost a wheel during takeoff and had to make an Emergency Landing in los angeles. The first happened around 10, 30 friday night on 100 and second avenue, not far from international boulevard and esperanza elementary school. Police say they found San Francisco man shot later died at the scene and all man was taken into custody for that shooting. Police have not shared any details on that arrest. Second shooting happened just before 01 00am saturday on international boulevard while on the corner of 8th avenue near clinton park officers on scene say they found evidence of a shooting could not find a victim. Police later learned a person suffering from gunshot wounds took themselves to the hospital. In the north bay, new details now about a shooting and a car chase that injured 4 Sonoma County sheriffs deputies. Officials released 911 audio from body camera footage. Police say this started as a chase around 09 20pm, after a car spotted in connection to a robbery took off onto the freeway. One of the suspect shot at officers for crashing the car in the bottom of the eastbound offramp in military west, one suspect was arrested right away. Other ran off and continued shooting at officers who returned fire. Officers managed to arrest the second suspect after the man was found hiding in some bushes. That incident shut down portions of 7. 80, per several hours. No injuries were reported. I dont know. Bottles school went into lockdown over reports of student with a handgun on campus Police Department. They responded to Sinaloa Middle School friday. Came after classes were over for the day. Motorcyclist was killed in sunnyvale sunday morning. According to sunnyvale, police was about 7 in the morning at this motorcyclist was traveling northbound on lawrence expressway was making a left turn onto arc east wind. The other southbound driver collided with him. Officers say motorcyclist died at the scene. Driver of the car suffered minor injuries. That driver remained at the scene. No reports of drugs or alcohol appear to be a factor in this crash. And when the east bay, antioch, police are looking for a driver hit a pedestrian is just rolls off. Happened after one 30 am on saturday. Officers say a kia sedan struck a man near wilbur avenue drove away and that man died at the scene.
