Well check in now with our meteorologist kyla grogan chat about whats going on. We saw some hail and lots of rainbows this weekend. Yes, sorry. But this weekena to i want to start with a look at our water year since october. First of where we are and as you can see with the exception of oakland, which is under 100 , everyone else. Over 100 of that is to say that we picked up quite a bit of rain. I mean, look, were almost just under 32 inches of rain since october. First in santa rosa. And if we take a look at San Francisco downtown San Francisco, this is the month and i wanted to point your eye towards this. Normal is 0. 3, 9 to just under 4 tenths of an inch. So far weve gotten almost 1. 7 inches. Now, this doesnt count on thursday because that was still february. But just friday, saturday and sunday, weve got more rain well over a, you know, twice even 3 times as much rain as we should have gotten really for the entire month. And we still have the whole month to go. So that is to say its been a very active start to march. Weve got one low pressure system. The one that roared across is bringing all the sierra and then second one that sitting out here in the pacific. And thats keeping us a little unsettled today. So as we zoom in, you can see the clouds. You also see a little bit of moisture out there, not necessarily anything hitting the ground, but you also see cold air. If you look up towards ukiah or clear lake, thats where very cold air is still rolling in. So we do have that chance of a shower thats going to be around today. But for most of us will be clouds. Maybe a few sprinkles. Temperatures out. There are chilly. We started in the 30s in some spots. Santa rosa got down to 35 degrees at the Sonoma County airport. So today we are going to have below average temperatures. We should be in the low 60s, even mid 60s this time of year. But you can see will be struggling to get to 60 degrees in some spots today. Ill be back a little bit. Well talk more about all that sierra snow in your sevenday forecast. Thank you. Following the Supreme Courts unanimous decision to keep former President Donald Trump on the 2024 president ial primary ballots. Were getting reaction now from washington, d. C. , and our correspondent Trevor Shirley has the latest. Todays decision by the Supreme Court now clears the way for former President Trump to appear on all state ballots. Just one day ahead of tomorrows super tuesday primaries. Former President Trump posting on truth social quote, big win for america. Apparent reference to the courts unanimous decision. Several other republicans are also applauding the courts ruling. Senator eric schmitt of missouri posting on x, quote, the right, an obvious call here. Its also important the court spoke in one voice, senator Marsha Blackburn of tennessee, also in an x posting, writing in part, quote, scotus rightfully defended americans right to vote for trump. And todays Court Decision ends the prospect of any more similar challenge is using a similar argument reporting in washington. Im Trevor Shirley. All right. Lets talk about our forecast now with this live look outside across the golden gate bridge. Well see whats going on here in the bay area. Just a second. But kyla is tracking all that snow. Im you know, we word hyping up the storm so didnt deliver. Thinking 48 feet. And that is about what weve got show you second year. But this is a live look at diamond peak. What you do see is a lot of snow, including this big block right here on the camera. What you dont see our people up here, right . Because its like still got to be cleaned up for anybody can enjoy all of this snow. But the snow was impressive. No doubt about it. 8 feet palisades says they picked up 8 feet in the last 24 hours. 24 inches. You can see just these numbers all the way through heavily where were looking right now. 57 inches for their total for the big storm. And they picked up about 19 inches last night. So it does mean that we have done some good pick, you know, catching up in the sierra. And we really needed that. But were not quite done yet because you can see we still do have these winter storm warnings in this area and Shasta County till 4 oclock tomorrow. But here in the western facing slopes of the sierra, its going to go until wednesday at 04 00am. So in the overnight from tuesday into wednesday, expecting still about 4 to 7 inches of new snow. We could see up to a foot at some of the peaks as well. Obviously cleanup is underway. We still got gusty wind. We still got Stormy Weather thats happening there. And you can see some of the snow flakes still falling as we take a look here at about, you know, noontime hour, starting to get going again with this afternoon snow thats going to be happening. So the roads are still going to be very difficult if not impassable in some of them not opened yet. So you have to just make sure youre checking in on that before heading anywhere. I would recommend staying put for today. Thats for meanwhile, in the bay area, weve got a few clouds that are out there in a few chances of a sprinkle take you future cast and show you that sierra snow and a little bit of rain over today over tomorrow and then particularly on wednesday. You start to see that we get a little bit of rain thats really down as that low pressure system off the coast is going to slide to the south of that pulls in moisture away from the sierra. But it does mean that central and Southern California are going to get some additional rain and well get a little bit, too, but it really will be more pointed at them as far as snow totals are concerned over the next couple of days. As i mentioned, were talking, you know, about 6 to 12 inches up in the peaks a little less than that and other spots as far as rain is concerned. You can see here about a 10th of an inch in most spots with the north bay could pick up between a half an inch and 3 quarters of inch. That is all the way through wednesday. So heres your extended forecast. You can see we stay cool and unsettled by later in the day wednesday, we should start to catch a break thursday and friday looking really nice thank you. But according to Political Data inc, a Voter Information Service tracking ballot and voter trends of the 22 million ballots sent to registered voters in the mail. Just 2 and a half million have been returned. That means statewide turnout so far is just 11 . This is low turnout. Paul mitchell as the Vice President of Political Data inc. He says when its all said and done tuesday night based on the data trends he sees. Now turnout was slightly improved, but stay relatively low. His expectations come election night, probably a 3rd of voters returned. Their ballots may be fewer than that. Thats probably due to the fact that we just dont have a competitive democratic or republican primary at this point for president. He says trends suggest Younger Voters are staying home. This election while those 65 and older are voting electorate is going to return. A ballot is going to be close to 60 . Seniors were there about a quarter of the registered voters. Whats important is that when turnout drops california doesnt drop equally for all populations. This is a real negative impact on turnout among minorities, younger people renters and really does skew the kind electorate that will decide not only the u. S. Senate race but also local contest legislative races, congressional races, ballot measures all across the board. And speaking of the u. S. Senate race, a new la times uc berkeley poll shows for the first time republican steve garvey leading what democrat adam schiff just behind within the margin of error in reach of first, the survey shows democrat katie porter and 3rd and democrat barbara in for whats become more more striking as election day draws closer is help order in to Progressive Democratic women how much theyre herman each other if one or the other of them were to stepped aside, its almost certain that the remaining candidates would be competing for first place in the almost certain to go on to the runoff. Oh, yeah, i felt that good, that is so much better than last week. Thanks, ive been doing em every night while im watching tv. Oh, what are you watching . Its a mystery. High quality care that meets you where you are. When Peter Dickson led my platoon into combat in afghanistan, he cared about two things completing the mission, and making sure his marines came home. And we all did. Petes always fought for what he believes in, and i know hell do the same in congress for affordable housing, the rights of women, and the democracy he swore to protect. Because helping people who need it has always been petes mission. And i know hell get it done. Next Generation Veteran Fund is responsible for the content of this ad. What do i see in peter dixon . Next Generation Veteran Fund i see my husband. The father of our girls. I see a public servant. A man who served under secretary clinton in the state department. Where he took on the epidemic of violence against women in the congo. I see a fighter, a tenacious problemsolver. Who will go to congress and protect abortion rights and our democracy. Because he sees a Better Future for all of us. Im peter dixon and i approved this message. Now on to bay area basketball. The warriors on the road taking on the celtics in boston and the dubs got destroyed. Kron fours. Kate rooney has the low lights. It was supposed to be the exclamation point on excellent stretch of basketball for the warriors. Theyve won 11 of their last 13 games, including 3 straight on the current road trip. So what better way to head into td garden for a matchup with the celtics right . Well, not exactly. The warriors hoping for a perfect 4 road trip and a rematch. The 2022 nba finals sunday. Celtics have been redhot with 10 straight wins and a commanding lead in the eastern conference standings pretty much right out of the it was clear boston owned this one step curry going o for 9 from 3 in the 1st half. The worst 1st half of his dream on didnt even come into the game after halftime. Thats how bad it was. Celtics just on fire from the start. Lot of this kind of jalen brown sinks in the stepback. 3 brown finished with 29 points and 5 threes. But the 2nd quarter, 37 point lead for boston, has jayson tatum hits a stepback 3 of his own tatum had 20 points just in the 2nd quarter. He finished with 27 boston scoring 82 points in the 1st so no need to even show the dismal 2nd. Half as the celtics just blow past, the warriors won 40 to 88 dubs trailed by as many as 56 points. Heres what the team had to say about the game after blowout loss trick. Flush it down the down the toilet. You know, we had a great road trip. 3, 1, weve had a million so boston was amazing. We werent beating them and so we had home and get ready for wins that. So we we still do the teams as kind of demoralizing, especially on the road you know, shot that youre kind of a given up or whatever the case is that taking advantage of it. So. And then you should like you have to play home basketball another and try to make and thats where the Momentum Shift just going their way and going their way to make every little play goes away look up and down corridors. So of those nights. Now, you can always count on steven step for a little bit of perspective. And the bright side, steph, klay and draymond got to have a little bit of extra rest heading into their backtoback takes place on wednesday and thursday, the host the bucks on wednesday in a little bit of a homecoming at chase center. Thatll do it for sports. Back to you. All right. Heres what it looks like in San Francisco out towards the embarcadero. Lots of clouds out there today and windy conditions. According to that flag, pilots got all the details now has looking out there. You know, were going to have a day. We have a chance of a shower. Im a meteorologist. I took my umbrella just in case they get caught in that one shower that happens today. But i thought lets get a little perspective here, shall we . If youre ready for some good news, though. Today, the sunset at 06 00 06pm. It will be dark. But a month from now, it sits at 7. 35. So were going to start getting that lovely thing where we start to get those longer days and 2 months, 8, 0, 3, and 3 months. 8. 28. So just a thought to put in your mind if youre looking up in the clouds and going, im a little tired of this. Hang in there. Friends temperatures right now. Were at 55 degrees in downtown San Francisco, running a little cool today. And those highs will certainly be mostly in the 50s. A few spots might hit that 60 degree mark. But its all about the cloud cover and that little chance of a shower that still remains today tomorrow and then into wednesday, witness relatively calm. You see that 12 Miles Per Hour and half moon bay. So not a bad day. As far as thats concerned and temperature wise in most spots are actually running a few degrees warmer than we were this time yesterday. The exception being up in the north bay where theyve been of really cool. They started off very chilly this morning and still having a hard time kind of kicking that with the clouds and everything you see that moisture that is up in parts of shasth county, some of its know some of that rain and just very little pops on the radar that are making their way here. But if we kind of go up to cloverdale is clear lake, you can start to see that cold air is still kicking up a few snowflakes up in elevation. Weve got a little shower that just rolled right across nevado. But other than that, its mostly just clouds as we take you through future cast will show you just stay unsettled. Thats 9 oclock tonight tomorrow. Same story. So the overnight you see some showers trying to make their way through. This is tomorrow afternoon. Most of it staying to the north of us and then we get into wednesday and that low pressure system is going to start tracking down the coast. So we stay in that situation where some of it is spinning in. And i think wednesday afternoon we could get a few more impactful showers, particularly in the north bay. But by thursday, were looking good. Now were not talking about a huge amount of rain, but i do think the north bay will bear the brunt of this over the next 3 days. We could see a half an inch to threequarters of an inch there. The rest of us more like a 10th of an inch. And then, you know, thursday, friday, look quite nice with a warm up into those mid 60s. Lots of sunshine. Im ready for but we do have a little rain expected next weekend but doesnt look like anything huge, though. Thats the good news at one. Kyla singing. We know its a good one. Thanks, kyla. If youre on the lookout for new watch, an android watches now in the market with a very long battery life. Rich demuro takes a look in todays tech smart.
