Definitely a cold start and cold enough that we do have frost advisories in effect for the north bay. The next several you are going to be even more frigid. So time to think about covering those plants, especially for inland areas. As you do, plan on going to bed during the evenings. Aside from that, those skies are dry and will remain dry through the day today on into tomorrow as well. So not a lot to worry about their today. Well, a pretty violent night of allay a weekend shooting led to a weekend sideshow. Thats it led to a shooting, a fire and looting at a nearby convenience store. Not only was a man shot, but a pickup truck was set on fire at the side show and then people looted this 7. 11, people who live in that area say its disappointing to see this kind lawlessness in their neighborhood. Surveillance video shows the mayhem that happened in vallejo on sunday. Dozens of people running into 7. 11 at the intersection of springs road and rolling would drive and rating the storefront jis and shelves. The manager of the 7. 11 says no employees got hurt, but thieves took off with 8 to 10,000 worth of goods. Police say the crowd came from a side show that was happening nearby. I saw a lot of them running towards this way towards my house and they were getting a vehicle and they had like back the chips just random items. This woman lives in the area. She wants to remain anonymous but says sideshows happen here often. But you could not believe all the crime that she witnessed afterwards. I thought chaos and destruction and violence in my own neighborhood a block away and im tired of police say 911 calls started coming in around 5. 30, sunday night about a fight that broke out at the sideshow. Police say a man was shot at least once and he ran into the 7. 11 for shelter. And once he was taken to the hospital, police say the looting began windows boarded. Up next to the entrance of the store as it was shattered during the raid. Neighbors expressed frustrations saying nothing is being done to stop this type of crime from occurring in their city as much as the cost to live in california. Law enforcement responded to a home run in the area of rachel role and have a drive. This was around 03 00am monday. Police told us there was an armed person barricaded inside of a home. Neighbors told us that somebody shooting into the air in the middle of the night. Police say no one was hurt during that standoff. Were still working to try to get more details on the suspect who has since been arrested all tall, then manner. Kate, a school they were forced to cancel classes because of that shelter in place. Meantime, over in santa cruz, the man is in jail because Police Believe he murdered his 21 yearold girlfriend at a beach. Police found sandal stone next to her body at sea bright state beach on friday. She died at a hospital after being strangled at the beach. According to investigators, she was a student, a uc santa cruz. Were still also used to attend. Stone is being charged with one count of homicide. Of the north bay santa rosa. Police are looking for the man on your screen. They say that hes wanted for attempted homicide. Officers say 21 yearold Nathan Hoagland shot a man in the shoulder after he and a group of friends got into an argument with another group. It happened on february 18th on bar him avenue. The victim is expected to survive. Police say the shooting is gangrelated and that hoagland, hes considered armed and dangerous. So if you see him do not approach him but call police. Well, a woman who was swept into the Russian River is facing multiple charges for allegedly assaulting the crew who was trying to rescue her. So calls first came in sunday afternoon. One woman was seen clinging to bushs, but when a rescuer jumped in to help her Officials Say she started fighting them and attempted to push him under the water. Thats when the second rescuer jumped in to help. All 3 were eventually taken to safety. The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment where Officials Say she continued to assault First Responders and medical personnel. Shes going to be arrested on multiple charges. Except treatment. Or be arrested . Those are 2 options. San francisco mayoral candidate is proposing offer to illegal drug users. Daniel lurie announced his plan on monday. The contract nearly 30,000 city workers are going to expire in june. Union Officials Say the city has a staffing crisis and that there are more than 3500 jobs that have to be filled. Theyre also concerned with potential budget cuts, especially to Public Services because of the citys deficit. So they are asking the city to fill those vacancies, permanent jobs and a stop quote, wasting spending on contracting out rallies and start at noon near the sf muni Agency Building on the nes avenue. And ucsf mission. Bay nurses, theyre also going to be holding a rally today calling for safe Staffing Levels for patients. They are also calling on ucsf to improve staffing and patient care for all campuses putting mission bay. And for nasas and started one in the afternoon at ucsf mission bay. California. The law change certain nonviolent crimes from felonies to misdemeanors, including theft when the items stolen are valued at less than 950. Supporters argue that would help reduce californias prison over population and lead to criminal justice reform. Mass incarceration. Simply isnt the answer. I do not believe at this state needs to tuch prop 47 to be able to help make our community safer. Full stop. But opponents including republican on the number tom lackey say prop 47 emboldened criminals to take part in certain crimes like retail theft, with little to no punishment, property heavily contributed to the problem.
