A freak accident left 2 bicyclists dead in napa county today. The world on a lumber truck shifted while traveling north on silverado trail around 11 oclock this morning. The lumber collided with the 2 bicyclists killing one of them almost instantly. The other cyclists died from their injuries later in the hospital. The driver of that flatbed truck stayed behind. On to some other big news this evening, San Francisco voters will be asked to weigh in on a new plan to change how the citys Police Department and the Police Commission operate. Mayor london breed says the ballot measure is called safer San Francisco. And if approved, it would do 3 main things. First, it would allow the Police Department to use and install more technology to solve crimes, including surveillance cameras, drones and artificial intelligence. It would also change some of the rules preventing police from pursuing suspects and cut back on some of their mandated paperwork office time. It would also make reforms to the Police Commission. The mayor says the Current Commission can issue conflicting policies without being held accountable by the public. We cant be living in the dark ages when technology. San francisco is that ai capital of the world. It also eliminates requirements were unnecessary paperwork. So do we dont keep sending officers back to their deaths when they can be out on the streets. So now were going to the voters and say voters of San Francisco. This is whats happening. Look at that fog roll in to the Golden Gate Bridge right now. We do have some dense fog this morning may see a little more dense fog along the coastline overnight tonight. But other than the coastline, you are clear over any fog and clouds and well, the heat is going to be on as were going to see these temperatures really soaring around the bay area right now. These numbers bumped up quite a bit. Were in the 80s inland right now. A lot of 70s around the bay cooler along the coastline with some of that patchy fog in the 50s. But this little mini heatwave settling in for tomorrow. That is going to crank up the temperatures. It is going to be hot. Talking 80s in downtown San Francisco. Many 90s in the valleys in a very good chance. Were going to see some records broken, maybe even tomorrow. But heat advisory has now been extended for much of the bay area away from the immediate coastline inside the bay, the Santa Clara Valley into the east bay, too. And also the north bay. The Andre Michael cohen is one of the thousands whose home was destroyed in the flames, but more so than the difficulty of using all of your physical possessions in your home. Its the memories. Michael cohen signed a of strong petition urging hawaiis governor to delay reopening west maui. The resident was recently able to secure permanent housing, but hes worried about his relatives still reliant on relief hotels 2 weeks after hawaiis governor reopened west maui to visitors. I think that will likely be the hottest day a week before we start to cool things down on friday out there. Right now, though, weve got mostly clear skies. We do have a couple of patches of fog sticking along the coastline. But overall, it looks like skies going to stay mostly clear with the exception of some of that coastal fog is just a thin dec. Right at the surface, you can see from the east bay hills, lots of sunshine over the bay. See the fog there in the distance right now. But a half moon bay, theyre seeking a little sunshine there. But if you head to the coast, watch out, we got some bigtime swells building out toward the beaches. Of fact, the high advisory going into effect starting on wednesday and continuing into thursday as were going to see some of those waves as high as 22 feet coming out of the westnorthwest. And so of those waves of being generated by some big storms off the coastline. So be careful out on the rocks that happens to coincide with the hot temperatures of folks wanting to head to the beach. Keep cool. Weather will likely be some patchy fog along the coastline overnight tonight and tomorrow morning. So be aware that to some of that is going to be thick. That seems a bit iffy at the moment during a long walk back to his office after the first vote. He initially deflected questions from reporters, including those who wanted to know what the holdouts are telling them. Why wont they bent . Jordan is calling those confidential conversations. I mean, time political analyst michael yaki says hes not expecting any kind of overnight miracle. If it was going to happen for jordan, it had to be either very close today or head of happened today.
