You see what happens here. Weve got offshore wind finally give way to more of an onshore breeze. Tomorrow. Models now painting mostly clear, but i wouldnt be surprised to see a patch to fog along the coastline. Then as we head through the day, you start to see that fog developing out toward the beaches. And there you go right around flight time. We start to see some that getting close to entering the Golden Gate Bridge. I think tomorrow should be a great day to fly. Will get me wrong to be very nice day on sunday, though, that changes you see an increase in low clouds and fog. Look at that as we head in toward the afternoon on sunday public in the event. Today San Francisco people celebrated the official grand opening of some new popup shops in previously empty storefronts. Its part of the mayor said the citys vacant to vibrant program which offered up the buildings rent free in an effort to kick start business downtown called for theresa stasi, joins us live in the newsroom with more on grant to downtown businesses took a big hit during the pandemic and restaurants and stores. Theyve been struggling to rebound. Now. Mayor london breed says that this program well help put the city back on track. Now, the shops that were approved for the program got 3 months, free rent and thousands of dollars worth of grant money. One of those stores, roslyn bakery, their new outpost at for barca darrow center. The bakery has been delighting customers in pacifica for years. So if youre from the you know, today they were rolling out some beautiful breads and pastries coffee. Some welcoming some of their new customers in San Francisco. In total, 17 businesses are going to be participating in the vacant vibrant program. Heres a mayor and a local store owner about what they hope will happen over the next few months. They really want more food options. They want to be able to grab coffee. They want to be able to grab a snack. They won launch. They want diverse different businesses. They want to maybe grab a sweater or they want to be able to use. Downtown is not just a place that they work, a place that they eat, but a Perfect Place that they can have fun in as well. As our crime for a kron fours, dan kerman reports tonight the city of oakland has secured funding for 300 cameras as they attempt to curb an ever increasing crime problem. These cameras are becoming more common in bay area cities as an additional tool to identify those who commit crime. Now the city of oakland has secured over a Million Dollars from the governor to install 300 of them. I believe that its its a really quick opportunity for us to put up some cameras. That will be helpful. Not only that, that we are utilizing these cameras, but piedmont in leandro also utilizing the cameras and so we can actually Work Together in a Stronger Partnership to really get those who are committing crimes off the street. The Oakland Privacy Advisory Commission signed off on the plan thursday. And earlier this week, oakland mayor sheng thao said if the City Council Approves the automated license plate readers could go up before the end of the year was another investigative tool. That actually dramatically in finding. Perpetrators in making streets safer. Chadwick spell with the Oakland African American Chamber of commerce says a coalition of oakland business groups support the plan to not only identify criminals but deter crime. According to data from last year, crime overall was down in california. But the use of guns and homicides was up. 71 while assaults with guns were up. 21 experts say the last time guns were involved such a High Percentage of Violent Crime was at the peak of the crime wave in the early 90s last week. Governor newsom side new gun control regulations into law which would generate money from the sale of bullets to improve school safety. San ramon police say an incident involving homecoming parade floats vandalized it. California high school with racist graffiti is not being investigated as a hate crime. But as kron fours Philippe Djegal reports, the case has left students and parents shaken. Within a span of one week, the homecoming parade floats at California High School in san ramon were defaced with racist graffiti and the racially charged flyer targeting the schools principal circulated through campus. Both incidents investigated by the San Ramon Police department. It was shocking. Definitely did not expect that. Police say the floats were vandalized between last thursday night and friday morning. The Campus Student newspaper, the californian detailed the incident in a recent article, students and parents confirmed the graffiti spray painted on the floats included the n word swastikas and profanities academically very successful. But are diverse no one. It match and come together as a community. And theres just tons of hate and vandalism and violence. I mean, its just frustrating. In a Statement Released by the San Ramon Valley Unified School District principal demetrius ball says, quote. Our School Community is saddened by this incident to our students. Homecoming floats last friday. We are thankful for the parents and students who stepped up to repair the floats in order to allow the 50th anniversary homecoming parade to proceed as planned. Im proud of the students who jumped into. You know, cover that this this heinous act. Yeah, its it just hurts my heart.
