And then in 1978 San Francisco city hall became National News because of George Moscone e and harvey milk. That thruster into the National Spotlight where she became president. Excuse me, became mayor from 1978 to 1988. She ran for governor in 1990, but lost and then decided in 1992. To become u. S. Senator. And she held on to that position until the very end. Hospitals, Emergency Departments are expected to remain open, but kaiser contact you if appointments or nonemergency surgeries have to be rescheduled. Noting that wait and hold times could be a lot longer. Well in the east by 2 people were arrested in connection to a drowning of a 2 year old boy in rodeo. Sheriffs deputies in Contra Costa County say the toddler drowned in a bathtub at home on california street just before 9 monday night. 2 people arrested were booked on charges of murder, torture. Felony infliction of injury of a child. That case remains under investigation. Currently. Also developing news. We now know the name of the 2 children. We know of the 2 children who drowned at a day care on monday. They were both under 5 years old, a total of 3 children fell into a pool and happy happy day care. Only one of them survive. One of the Largest Healthcare us a strike that weve seen in the nation. This is history being made. Dozens of workers out here right now ultimately asking for better treatment from executives. You can see theyve got water. Theyve got Everything Else out here and it takes over half of this block telling me this morning that theyve already been locked out of walnut creek facility. Now in this, were talking about 75,000 kaiser Health Care Workers protesting unfair labor practices and asking for better pay better staffing in performance bonuses. Its affecting about 7 different states. And in those states were talking about hospitals, medical facilities, washington, colorado, oregon, maryland, virginia, dc and almost 60,000 workers are right here in california with 20,000 coming right here out of the bay area. Contracts expired over this past weekend. Ultimately, workers were hoping for a 6. 5 raise in the first year of a fouryear contract asking for a 25 minimum for Health Care Workers. But currently the talks remain at around 3 . Kaiser did put out a statement. Take a look at on your screen and now saying, quote, both Kaiser Permanente management in Coalition Union representatives are still at the bargaining table. Having worked through the night, effort to reach an agreement. There has been a lot of progress with agreements reached on several specific proposals late tuesday and quote, they did not go into details of what exactly those agreements were.
