And we go now to the east bay where thefts and at least one Armed Robbery at a gas station in hercules recent months are now leading police to warn people to be on the lookout for suspicious activity at the gas pump. Kron 4, some duval has the video showing us how the thieves are committing their crimes. The Hercules Police department is sharing Surveillance Video from gas stations and other communities using the footage as a visual example of what officers in town have investigated. At least 3 times in the past 5 months. It . Its all happening in in the daylight hours. Usually with other people around reserve detective con event. Putin says all 3 incidents happened at the safeway gas station on sycamore avenue. In one case, a person pumping gas was robbed at gunpoint. The second case turned into a robbery when a woman struggled with the suspect who stole her purse from the passenger seat of her unlocked car. And the 3rd incident resulted in the suspect reaching into and stealing items from the victims car. Crime can happen anywhere anytime but he says there has been a spike in gas station thats in surrounding cities have to precautions. You know, make sure you know, you lock your car. Definitely dont think about it now. And i usually dont leave my car. I usually stay at the pump out be more cautious now. You think everything is hunky dory, you could get hurt out here. The Police Department says arrests have been made in 2 of the 3 investigations. In hercules Philippe Djegal all kron. 4 news. The new care court opens today in San Francisco. The program aims to provide assistance to those struggling with Mental Health and Substance Abuse disorders. Petitions for treatment can be filed, starting today. Once the petition is filed, the court will decide whether the person meets the requirements for treatment for things like psychotic disorders. And if they do, then resources will be made available, including temporary shelter, Substance Abuse treatment and Mental Health services. The u. S. Coast guard has called off the search for a missing swimmer in marin county after a possible shark attack at Stinson Beach of wildcat beach. According to the sheriffs department, a person was in the water just north of stinson with a group of friends when they went missing. Friends say they saw a shark in the area and blood in the water where their friend was last seen. Officials have not confirmed a shark attack at this time the water search has been suspended for the swimmer. A ground search is still being conducted by First Responders from the National Park service. With a Government Shutdown averted. It looks like fleet week is full steam ahead. The event involves 1000 sailors and marines well as members of the coast guard. Its supposed to, you know, early this morning we saw the blue angels kind of flying around the edge of San Francisco bay. They havent been back this afternoon, but they will return for a very busy fleet week. Monday morning, the navys blue angels arrived in the bay area to kick off San Francisco fleet week. Each year fleet week attracts hundreds of thousands of people to the city throughout the week. Visitors can tohr ships docked along San Franciscos waterfront. Theres also High School Band competition. A concert to honor the fallen on thursday evening. Art exhibits and free concerts around the city. But fleet weeks biggest attractions start on friday morning at 11 with the parade of ships arriving through the golden gate, the air show which features Navy Air Force and civilian planes will take to the skies throughout the day on friday, saturday and sunday. The Navy Blue Angels always the Main Attraction will be the last to fly each afternoon. Fleet week is a big event for the city of San Francisco in the navy. We want to know, you know how the fog conditions as we approach the weekend so we can see that air show. I know thats what we all want to see. Right . Were going to see some foggy conditions, at least for tomorrow. Well continue to update you on the but as far as temperatures, yeah, were going to see above average temperatures this week. So as you enjoy the air show, if you enjoy a warmer temperatures, summerlike temperatures in some then this is the week for you. Get Golden Gate Bridge showing you traffic slowly picking up in both directions. Some onlookers right there looking at the bridge. But overall, were still showing that blue skies for the most part, some cloudy conditions. But overall. It really starting to slowly warm up this weekend. We had a couple of showers. We even saw some snow in the mountains and were just wait for that High Pressure system to make its way to us to bring up those temperatures. So San Francisco, 63 san jose, 80 in santa were looking at 78 as take a look at our highs are going to warm up just a little bit and drop down this evening. But still, our story is going to be those gusty conditions. So its 7. 15. Were still looking at fairfield, 18 Miles Per Hour. Nevado 23 Miles Per Hour. Going make the feels like temperature at least inland drop down just a little bit and might make your ride home a breezy and you can see some debris in the middle of the roadway. So we have this low pressure system again, bringing us those cooler temperatures. We saw a couple showers and mountain snow, but its all about this highpressure system headed northwest, bringing us those warmer conditions, especially inland. Then were going to have the inland really start to warm up things. So what will continue to watch next couple of days is just a concern with the fire so that High Pressure system just showing you the jump in temperatures monday inland, 81 to wednesday, 89 bay, 74 today, 87 on wednesday and even the coast. I think this is the biggest jump. You can see it 60s for us today. But by wednesday, well be looking at the 80s. So it is going again, like hot summer. She was escorted from sfo to sinai memorial chapel. San Francisco Police say that a special route throughout the city was planned for her arrival. The senator will lie in state at San Francisco city hall. That will happen on wednesday from 09 00am until 07 00pm. And the public invited to come then and pay their respects and sign a condolence book during that time. Then on thursday at 01 00pm, a Funeral Service will be held inside of the herbst theater at the San Francisco war memorial and performing arts center. That funeral is not open to the public, but a broadcast of it will be shown inside city hall at the north like court. But then were like Mother Nature is like no way were going to have some are one more time. So this low pressure system. Really responsible. You saw maybe some light showers this week. You also just saw the mountain snow, but that pattern change really going to bring us those warmer temperatures that High Pressure system again coming from the northwest, bringing warmer above average temperatures. And we also have those offshore breeze. It definitely heating us up. So some places were looking at temperatures in the 90s as we roll into the weekend. So for the rest of the day, the wakeup planner, the day planner breezy conditions at 5 oclock. Really what were going continue to watch by 8 oclock. Mostly clear. Were going to stay in the 50s for the coast bay. Were going to see in the 60s and as we roll into the were going to see some cloudy conditions as you wake up, what well continue to watch for right now as we speak is just as gusty conditions not actually going see in the next couple of days. So well watch those gusty conditions because we have above average temperature and those 2 right temperature means fire concerns as we roll into october, which is actually the start of the water year. So we had a well above water year. You notice a lot of members are saying in some places, well, above 100 compared to the year before. So we are going continue to watch for rain not this week, but maybe next week as well. Tomorrow. What i want to make sure, you know, is that we are going to see some foggy conditions by 6 oclock. You can see that right there. The coastal your commute could be a little tricky. Same story for Half Moon Bay, even oakland, you could see that fog and those slower drive times that 40 to 9 oclock things will slowly look better with the exception of the coast, youre going to see cloudy conditions has really going to start to heat up for you. But fast forward to wednesday and you can see the change in temperature, 79, 88 89. So that jump in temperatures definitely headed our way as we fastforward again to the big picture. I just think its noticeable difference. You can see by thursday were looking at 90s. Well, above average inland bay, 89 in khost. 81, as we take a look at thursday friday, were going to stay right there in the 90s, even on saturday. So going to drop down to seasonable temperatures for october by sunday. Were 80 for inland bay, 73 and coast. 63. So the next couple of days really going to heat up. If you like that. He had been serving in that role on an interim basis. General manager bob power shared in a statement that franklin had been heavily involved in increasing the agencys Police Presence and has contributed to several safety improvements. Well tell you what theyre saying about it. 75,000 Kaiser Health care employees are getting ready to go on strike their labor contract with kaiser expired over the weekend. The strike which is expected to last for 3 days will be the largest Health Care Workers strike in u. S. History. Kron fours Michael Thomas in walnut creek with the latest. Were just about 2 days away from seeing one of the largest healthcare strikes in u. S. History and locations just like this. Kaiser in walnut creek could be affected, causing patients to be delayed in multiple ways. In total, theres almost 75,000 healthcare workers set to strike nationwide in this threeday strike could start as soon as october 4th, which is this coming wednesday. It includes workers in washington, colorado, oregon, and almost 60,000 here in california with 20,000 coming out of the bay area. Their contracts expired over the weekend. Union officials telling us they have had good discussions with kaiser, but one of the biggest issues are still facing is the pay range for employees. Overnight, kaiser told its members remained at the bargaining table and theres still a chance to strike may not happen. But if it does, it may affect peoples medical plan saying in a statement, quote, in the case of a strike, we will need to reschedule some nonurgent appointments and procedures will contact you in advance if your appointment needs to be rescheduled. Its possible that you could experience longer wait and hold times during a strike. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience. This battle has been going on for months and only time will tell if the union and kaiser officials can come to an agreement. Negotiations set to resume today between striking actors in the alliance of Motion Picture Television Producers and marks the first time both sides have met since the actors walked out on july 14th. They are seeking better pay as well as protections against the use of artificial intelligence. The Writers Guild of america sought similar demands and their new contract with the major studios and streamers. Both sides there reached a deal last week that brought the Writers Strike to an end after nearly 5 months. And Governor Newsom did veto a bill that would have given workers on strike unemployment benefits. The governor said that he supports and respects workers who fight for their rights, but he says expanding Unemployment Insurance would create cost overruns in the billions of dollars. California lawmakers passed the measure while hollywood writers were on strike. Only 2 states in the country allow striking workers to collect unemployment benefits, new york and new jersey. A judge has ordered 14 bay area Subway Restaurants to shut down the franchise owners identified as as and his wife jessica, were ordered to pay workers. Nearly 1 Million Dollars in back wages and damages. Federal investigators found that the owners failed to pay wages regularly bounced paychecks, stole tips that left by customers and put children as young as 14 to work with dangerous equipment location. The thing the next couple of days, those austy conditions, especially inland are going to see that feels like temperatures drop down just that delta breeze in places like fairfield, 17 Miles Per Hour. Even oakland going to see those breezy conditions up to the north, nevada. 23 Miles Per Hour. So again, gusty conditions will be the thing in the next couple of days. As you wake up tomorrow, what were going to those temperatures slightly warmer than today. Again, thats going to the theme as we build on each other as that High Pressure system moves but you will see some foggy conditions, San Francisco, Half Moon Bay, even napa. It brought some mountain snow, maybe even saw some wet roadways this weekend. But really is, again, this High Pressure system bringing us above average temperatures. Average should be around 70s.
