They have to have safety, accessibility, cleanliness and San Francisco. A is getting poor grades on all of those levels. Comes close down once already right before the pandemic. This is back in 2018 before reopening the following year. The devastation in maui is becoming clear and more devastating. Each day. Billions in damage done. And now the death toll is up to 93. Many remain unaccounted for still. So that number could potentially grow as wildfires. Now, the deadliest in the u. S. More than 100 years. The flames destroyed or damaged more than 2200 structures. The San Jose Fire Department says cal fire units also help put down the flames. We dont have any. Were there any injuries or how big the fire got or how it started . And a grass fire a little more scorching. 21 acres in the Northern Hills of the city on Collier Canyon road that started about 10, 30 saturday night. It was contained in about 90 minutes. Thankfully, no word on any injuries in this fire, either. All right. Well, lets get you moving on monday. You need to know how to dress and how to prepare for the next 7 days on travel covering that on a monday morning. John was very glad to see that neither those fires are still active and were contained very quickly. As you know, this time of year when we start to get those warmer days, those offshore winds that are. Keeping the fog away from the coast right now. You do often see heightened fire activity. So a little bit of good news there. And the nice clear morning youve got your bay bridge come you right there looking crystal clear. Love to see that on a monday. Start get you going a little bit easier this morning. We are seeing some offshore thunderstorms. Look at that. Some cloud to ground lightning just west of San Francisco. Well, well offshore, this is well past the Farallon Islands out there. So really nothing going on for the bay area, but a bit of moisture out there. Well away from us. This a result of this low pressure area, remnants of a tropical system. Its kind of spinning off to the west of us. This high centered up to the north is ushering in this offshore wind, which is kept conditions quite warm out there across much of the region today. Now we are going to see less influence from that low. And as we work our way through the week, the High Pressure ridge to the east of us starts to build back in a little bit more. All this is going to do eliminate that offshore flow and really result in Cool Conditions at the coastline unfairly moderated temperatures elsewhere, right on par with seasonal averages. So were actually getting a little bit cooler as this week goes by today. We are going to of our coastal areas to rise a little bit warmer. Golden gate park is going to get up to a relatively warm 68 degrees. Thats by Golden Gate Park standards of one of our cooler spots. Youve been areas like Half Moon Bay tapping into some low 70s. So a nice day at the coastline, it will be fairly warm elsewhere. Lot of 80s along the bay shore today, even some low 90s saying carlos in redwood city starting the week off pretty warm at 90 degrees while san jose at 93 today, east bay temperatures anywhere from the 80s 90s to see it over there in livermore 100 degrees. Same in danville, close in walnut creek in 99, a toasty one for oakland at 78 for you. Well, looking at near triple digits in vacaville, antioch and pittsburgh as well. Santa rosa down to center fell in the upper 80s to low 90s. Now getting your lookahead after today. Temperatures will gradually decline by the end of the week. Were only in the upper 80s to low 90s, mostly. So we are going to see gradually taking our foot off the gas pedal for inland heat and getting a bit more comfortable. Bayshore cities will fall out of the 80s and back into the 70s while coastal areas remain steady in the 60s. Now, as far as your rosco to kick off the weekend already mentioned how clear it is for most areas, not just in the skies, but also on those roads. Only 8 minutes across the bay bridge, san mateo bridge at a nice 12 minutes. Thats at the limit. There. Richmond center fell still nice and empty. You know, Union Officials say that they are closer to an agreement and are actually meeting with the city of san jose this morning. But the planned strike is less than 24 hours away and it really could shut down the city. Were talking about thousands of essential workers. And the City Employees around 6600 workers, which means around half would be on the picket lines. And that includes 911, dispatchers librarians airport workers, city inspectors, sanitation specialist. I mean, the list goes on and, you know, these are old daily jobs that make up the city itself. Saw inland john, potentially triple digit weather there. Yeah, weve got a couple triple digits on the map today like we saw this weekend for for this inland spots. So were not quite out of the heat yet, but were gradually going to be looking at temperatures cooling down this week. So a little bit to look forward to a little bit of relief to look forward to. Now what we have this morning, nice view of downtown San Francisco. Not a lot going on out there. As far as fog goes for most of the bay. We do have a few foggy spots right along the coastline. But im looking further offshore. Look at this. We have some thunderstorms popping up a few 100 miles away from us. Well, out into the pacific ocean. Those will not be drifting our direction. Just kind of a cool thing to note. Nearby us. We are seeing some monsoonal moisture lowpressure area to the south of us that is pushing some of those storms offshore. Weve seen an offshore when the past few days which resulted in that very, very warm weekend weather weve had that offshore wind relaxes and by the tail end of the week, were going to be replacing it with the return of some ocean air for some of our further inland spots. And as that happens, that cool moderating effect of the ocean kicks right back in helps us out inland. Far as temps go today, its still that wind that sweeps from inland areas out to the coast, though, which isnt going to be too bad. As far as that offshore breeze, it could be really windy. Sometimes shouldnt be too oppressive. Today just keeps a little fog pushed out towards the coastline and does keep our inland areas on the warmer side of things today in sf it will be 60s and 70s a pretty mild day while 60s to 70s. Also right along the coast. A lot of 80s along the bay shore today.
