Lets check in now with chief meteorologist Lawrence Karnow za looking at the weather conditions there, particularly the winds. Yeah, things have been improving can over these last 24 hours. Of course, we had a very strong storm system in the form of Hurricane Dora, passing south of the Hawaiian Islands and a very strong ridge of High Pressure to the really is the difference in those 2 pressure systems causing all those extreme winds. Some gusts as high as 80 miles an hour making their way across maui. And of course, you get those kind of gus and you get a fire and theres really nothing to stop it. So above the good news yesterday, were talking about Hurricane Dora being as close as 800 miles now measuring it at this time or 1250 plus miles away. So the further it moves away from the Hawaiian Island chain. Well, that starts to loosen up that pressure. Grading that means less wind. And thats exactly what were seeing tonight. Red flag warnings are down now across all of the islands. You can see the winds there and said of those gusts that really extremely strong yesterday. Now were talking about 14, 16, maybe some 18 mile an hour gust and things really beginning to calm down there. Thats some good news. Looks like a door will continue to make its way away from the Hawaiian Islands. Those winds will continue to calm down overnight tonight. Kim, back to you. All right, lauren, thank you. It was completely fogged some dense fog moving in across the Golden Gate Bridge tonight, the clouds. Stretch onshore again. Maybe even some coastal drizzle around the bay. I think tomorrow, maybe the coolest day of the week so far and then we get ready for the weekend. Well, things are really going to heat up out there tonight, though. Weve got the clouds already beginning to move in little subtropical moisture also moving in overhead above that cloud deck down below. So kind of interesting. Weve got the interesting scenario setting up what you can get at this time of year. Temperatures today backed off just a bit. We didnt have 90s in the valleys, but still very warm. 88 degrees in lemore. 86 almost right at the average in concord. 84 degrees in santa rosa. 67 degrees in San Francisco. 72 in oakland and 86 degrees in san jose stepping outside right now. Youre still looking at 50s in the fog along the coastline. 58 60 in alameda. 67 degrees in pittsburgh. Still 73, though, a warm and brentwood. 71 in vacaville. Youve got 61 degrees in petaluma agd 59 and cooling off. Now in santa rosa, right . This is the really fascinating part. Weve got a little subtropical moisture working its way into southern california. We had some reports of some thunderstorms are upping their near a point conception, the Santa Barbara area. Well, you know what . A lot of that moisture now beginning to sweep up a little bit closer toward the bay area. Fact, you can see it right there. A couple Lightning Strike to the south, the south of big sur now. And now were starting to see some of those clouds starting to work their way up in our direction. Theres a slight chance we could see a couple of scattered light showers mainly in the south bay with the systems of swings on by. And you can see this low is going start to rotate up in toward the bay area just south of us. And so thats bringing the best chance a little further south. Not much energy with it. I dont think a real good chance of seeing thunderstorms but a Stranger Things have happened. So were tracking that right here. Kron 4 so overnight tonight, theres the drizzle showing up along the coastline. Watch the cloud mass coming up on the south and rotating through models trying to predict at least a shower, possibly moving through parts of half moon bay. A lot of thats going operate before reaching the surface. Still very interesting that time of year we can see some of those subtropical clouds move across the bay area number. So for tomorrow, you look at 60s and much of San Francisco cool on the coastline. 15, 60, a little drizzle there. 69 degrees in millbrae should be a nice day in burlingame, a 69. Then we start to break out the 70s as you head down the peninsula and then warming up in the 70s 80s in the south bay by tomorrow afternoon. I think instead of a upper 80s, you look at the mid 80s in the interior valleys by tomorrow afternoon about 84 degrees in walnut creek. 79 renda, 69 for our friends in berkeley. 69 also in richmond and then still get places like a fairfield. 84 degrees in pittsburgh back along the coastline will keep in the cool. But that patchy fog in numbers in the 50s and the 60s. Heres your tenant and the temperatures heating up. Maybe some triple digit heat as we head in toward monday and tuesday. Then those temperatures slowly cooling off by the following weekend numbers running a little bit below the average. But that tropical stuff is pretty neat to you just never know. Were going to our eyes on the 4 things can change. We dont want lightning. No, we dont want more fires. Thats for sure. Alright, thanks, orange.
