Theyre dealing with a shed filled with chemicals. They say they could be toxic or explosive. You take a look behind me. You can see the scene here still looks fairly similar to what looks like hour and a half ago. We still have firefighters, bomb squad workers going in and out of home just investigating and trying to figure out exactly what is going on. The home is on stand avenue near giant highway con fire says they found hundreds of boxes with several Hazardous Materials. Evacuation is impacting a 6 block radius. Police and firefighters responded earlier in the day to report of the smell of gas in the area just before one initial shelterinplace alert was issued for a has about that. That was updated to Evacuation Order around 4. 30, i spoke to a woman who says she didnt know about the evacuation until she got an alert on her phone as she pulled up to her home. Parked in front of my house that looked at it went to the website and the website says that we are evacuated immediately. So i didnt even get out of the car. The homeowner with the shed wasnt at the home, but his brother was there and is cooperating with emergency responders. Officials from con fire said residents in the area should evacuate to the Contra Costa Community college gymnasium. Thats at twentysix 100 mission bell drive. We were there just a little while ago. And the red cross is helping out the people who are in this area who have been displaced right now. We spoke to the red cross. Amanda, you said that to initially they said possibly as long as 24 hours that folks need to be evacuated. So the assumption is that. Theyre going to be out there all night long that going through that area trying figure out how to get rid of that material, right . The broken have to set up some big lights and that kind of thing. Yes, that is the thought at this point. And when i was at the Evacuation Center, i spoke to some people there and they said they were preparing to have people overnight. So we are anticipating that emergency crews will be here for some time or tonight. And just to be clear, because theres a bomb squad doesnt necessarily mean theres a bomb. Its just potentially explosive they have expertise in that area. Yes, its its Hazardous Materials that could possibly be explosive. So they want to have the bomb squad here just in case anything may happen. It doesnt mean something is going to happen. So people should be aware that it may not the explosive, but they just want be careful because it could be explosive or talks. It. All right, amanda, thanks so much for the update. The big number really look at here is that about 7. 7 million stable doses for an adult human being. Officer Andrew Barclay with the california Highway Patrols Golden Gate Division says thats how much fentanyl was seized in San Francisco over the last 90 days. Officials say it takes just 2 milligrams of fentanyl for a person to overdose. The population of the bay area in 2018 with 7. 7, 5 million people. So were looking at enough fentanyl to cover the entire bay area or to make it a little smaller. If were looking at levi stadium, thats enough. Fentanyl. 2 covered the stadium 112 times over this week as fpd made a drug bust in the citys tenderloin district photo sent to kron 4 shows officers in the area of larkin in mcallister and at a town hall hosted by news nation supervisor matt dorsey compared the citys fentanyl problems to the aids crisis. And valley vista avenue. No word on a suspect police say it is the citys 13th homicide this year. Police are investigating a morning kidnapping in oakland. They say they got a call saying a woman had been grabbed, forced into a car on east 15th street near lake merritt. Police have confirmed that the kidnapping did happen, but no other details on the woman, the car or the suspect have been released, at least at this point. And take a look at your screen. Santa clara county sheriffs deputies are asking for your help to try to find this teenager. Shes been missing for almost a month. 17 yearold Katherine Schneider was last seen on july 5th, leaving her home, driving the car. You see there a white 2019 honda accord. Shes about 5 feet, 5 inches, 115 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes. The california license plate on the car is 8 k l k 2, 5, 1, anyone who has any information about her whereabouts is asked to call Santa Clara County sheriffs office. Another shooting has been reported on an east bay this time and a day. It happened yesterday near. Highway 84, the chp says it does not have a suspect yet. Meanwhile, were learning the sacramento woman charged with firing a gun last week on 80 near the bay bridge toll plaza was allegedly driving recklessly in the area before the shooting. She is due back in court on friday and hes being held without bail. Shes now facing more in 20 years in prison. As for some solutions, the problem, many are clamoring for more freeway cameras saying surveillance could help catch more of the people who commit these crimes. Operation Cross Country just wrapped up ending with few or human traffickers on the streets and victims who survived exploitation. Now on the road to recovery goal is to stop predatory behavior. The San Francisco division of the fbi joined the alameda and Contra Costa County district attorneys offices in martinez wednesday announcing the results of the annual nationwide enforcement campaign. 200 victims of trafficking were rescued across the state set also included the identification or arrest more than 5 dozen suspected human traffickers. And 126 individuals accused of Child Exploitation and trafficking offenses here in the bay area. During a twoweek span in july, fbi agents with the San Francisco divisionawork with federal, state and local Law Enforcement agencies to carry out 17 operations.
