Yeah, im with gma. Basic calls that fog a strike. All right. Race is joining us with a look august. A recent yeah. And right on cue, its already making its presence known along the coast eventually going to make it struck across the bay in our inland valleys by tonight. Bring us another round of patchy drizzle. We actually saw traces amount of rain, believe it or not. This morning just because of that thick and deep marine layer. And lets take a live look outside right on cue. Here is fog is just rolling through downtown San Francisco, the Trans America Pyramid overhead and radar for. We are going to see barely dry conditions. But tonight, i wouldnt be surprised if we actually tracked some mist, especially along our bay area beaches eventually spreading inland for your thursday morning because we are going to see another round of that thick marine layer, but then giving way to plenty of sunshine by the afternoon with the exception of our bay area beaches expect to see once again more clouds and sun temperatures out there right now. 59 degrees for Half Moon Bay with brentwood in the mid 80s at 85 degrees. Still ahead, a homecoming for a San Francisco kid will have a live report from oracle park with kron. 4 sports director jason dumas says diamondbacks pitcher kyle nelson prepares to play against the team he rooted for as a kid. The giants continue their series with the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight at oracle park. And its a crucial divisional matchup. As both teams are still fighting for a spot at the Division Title or a wildcard. Yeah. But for one guy suiting up tonight, its actually a homecoming kron. 4 sports director jason dumas explains. You guys, as you said, this is a huge fourgame series for both teams. Both of them are still fighting for this nl west division. Obviously, theyre both looking up at the dodgers. Theres on the diamondbacks 4 and a half back from the dodgers. San francisco giants, his 2 and a half back from the dodgers. But beyond that division race, theyre both still very much in the thick of things for that wild card spot. So really every game from here on out will be important for both of these teams. Its even more important when these teams play each other because they are right neck and neck in that wild card spot. The giants or just above them in the wild card race. Now beyond that story line, theres a little subplot and thats subplot involves a city kid coming home and playing in the stadium where he sat and cheered on the giants all throughout his childhood kyle reynolds. He is a city kid through and through. He grew up in the excelsior and sunset area of San Francisco and he went to galileo high school, which is really about 5 to 7 minutes away from oracle park and is funny. Obviously, he was a standout pitcher at galileo high school, but he actually won a city championship as the starting quarterback for that team. So he was also a really good football player. But on monday night he came in here in oracle park stadium, where like i said, he sat and watched the giants play growing up and he was really lightsout. He came in on relief in the 7th inning. He did not allow a hit. He struck out joc, peterson and he retired the side in the 8th. Its just the second time hes ever pitch here at oracle. Hes been in the majors for 4 seasons now and this is definitely been his best season. Hes 53 strikeouts. A 2. 8, 5 and really told me that the diamondbacks have put him in a position to succeed this year. And thats why hes been pitching so well. Now i catght up with him earlier this afternoon and we chatted about what its like coming home and playing in your hometown. Its an honor for summit will take it lightly. Like im just really grateful for the opportunity. I think the best part of that for me. Its kind of like the joy. It brings to my family like the people who are there was a part of could feel love and support happiness comes from. So thats like the piece of it that i appreciate the most people who are from here take a whole lot of pride in being from San Francisco. Thats something that you carry with you throughout your careers. Yeah, i believe strongly that the the roots of the city is kind of what it would build some of my character, unlike things i believe in the values. Thats the important things of that nature. So. I do. I do wear pride for sure. Now, Stephanie Nelson and i we were joking around earlier. He said his older brother also went to galileo, high school his brother won a baseball city championship. And then of course, kyle won a Football City championship. So they kind always give each other a hard time about that. He wished he could have gotten a baseball one. But he told me, man, you know, its fun. Last year when he came in played here was much crazier seen. But this year he said the diamondbacks were in a playoff position. I can have too many distractions. This is still a business trip. So kyle nelson really cool to see him home in playing in front of some of his family and friends who will be here tonight. As for the giants, as i said at the top of this report, they are still playing for a lot. Obviously theyre in. Fighters chance of that division. Just 2 and a half back of the dodgers and theyre right. And it with that wild card, too. So this is a huge series for them as they try to fend off the diamondbacks who are breathing down their neck in that wildcard race. Well have highlights tonight. Well have one more live report at 6. 45. Ahead of first pitch reporting from oracle park. Im jason dumas. Back to you guys. Well, it wasnt just hot here in the United States last month. Nearly the entire world felt it too. A report from Climate Central says 81 of the global population experienced heat waves in july. Thats about 6 and a half billion people report says the heat was mostly because of human caused Climate Change. The group used a measure called climate shift index which compares current climate against one without greenhouse gases. Another Research Group found heat waves that hit the South West Europe and china would not have been possible without Climate Change from air pollution and that were going to send things over to kron. Meteorologist mabrisa rodriguez, said it looks like we were spared from a lot of excess heat. Yeah, and we can thank karl the fog for that and our cool sea breeze. Those cool Pacific Ocean temperatures really do help us out, especially along the coast. But scorching temperatures across the United States. Phoenix 108 degrees. Dallas 104. So even hotter than yesterday with albuquerque and las vegas in the low to mid 90s downtown San Francisco. Those 65 degrees. So we certainly have Mother Nature to thank for that. And especially karl. But just to the south and east of the sierra topaz lake and even hawthorne, theyre tracking monsoonal moisture, bringing thunder and lightning to that area. But South Lake Tahoe, truckee and donner summit, all dry and clear. Lets take a look at futurecast for because we are going to see a cool day increase in cloud cover. But overall, once again to the south and east, we are going to notice just from that area, another round of possible monsoonal moisture with the threat of thunderstorms and lightning. But South Lake Tahoe, 77 degrees so pleasant temperatures at the lake which keep in the upper 70s at 79 degrees and temperatures slowly going to warm up by this weekend in the low to mid 80s by saturday into sunday and a lot of sunshine for your sierra forecast for us here in the bay area. Were seeing widespread 60s and 70s. 71 degrees for san Jose Livermore at 74 degrees with santa rosa in the mid 70s as well at 77 degrees and temperatures tomorrow, widespread 70s and 80s inland. So were going to be 5 to 10 degrees below average for warmest inland valleys. Very pleasant temperatures there with oakland and hayward in the upper 60s and Half Moon Bay in the low 60s. And then the heat is on this weekend. Saturday already warming up into the mid 90s. The triple digit heat pro hottest inland valleys, not cooling down until next tuesday.
