Thats that low blanket of cloud cover overhead that is stretching not just along the coastline, but all the way, far inland this morning. You can see it from mount tam light here that blanket of clouds from above visibility is fine because its sitting right above us. So were doing really well in that department. It is keeping temperatures down areas like livermore still hanging out in the low 60s. Brett would calistoga in vacaville among our first few spots in the low 70s while berkeley, San Francisco, timber on still in the 50s later on today. Were going hold on to some partly cloudy skies, but still some plenty of brightness in between 70s 80s. No 90s in this forecast. Today we are on a cooler trend for the start of the month. Its not going to last, though. Ive got your full roundup of the weather. Still to come rain. All right, john, thank you for that. So use those low beams. 901, is the time. And we want to get back to the breaking news weve been following all morning since 6 oclock this morning when a massive fire broke out in San Francisco 8 people have been displaced and no one thankfully has been injured. We have, course, Michael Thomas, who is still on the scene. Michael, youve been updating us doing a great job of that. Mike, what are you learning . Well, good morning, everyone. You know, were learning that theres a total of 5 neighboring buildings that really were affected. And like you said, 8 people displaced are now Getting Services from that red cross and take a look behind me. This is a different view that i showed you guys earlier. You can really just see. Were going zoom in for you. You can see what it looks like on this side of the building. This is oak street and octavia, but there it is. You know, just a lot of burned, char and all that wood that was there. This is the where our excuse me, not a warehouse. It was a building that was currently under construction. So the center really didnt have too much. And take a look at this video we have from this morning. This is what it looked like originally when fire officials arrived. You know, they said that it quickly grew to be that 4 alarm fire and ultimately groove really rapidly because this was a building that was under construction, meaning there was no fire alarms. There was no, you know, any type of things in the middle essentially was really just wood that was getting ready to burn. And thats exactly what happened. The fire chief tells us that when she got out of the car, she could actually feel the heat going towards her face and she was feet away from it. So thankfully, nobody was again, harmed. There were no injuries, but it is still very much an active scene. Take a listen to what the chief told us this morning. For residential buildings, but 2 on hickory into that were impacted. With some with a little bit of fire on the roof, but a lot of water damage we had to pull ceilings and walls to make sure the fire had not gotten in there. And that number has grown to 5. But you can see that they did have that damage him back out here live. Just want to show you this is right across the street. You can see officials have just put up this tape. And thats because if we zoom and were going to try to get you a better visual, but the glass on this building actually started to crack because of the heat and it may be hard for there. We got may be hard for you to see, it did kraken. Pieces are falling onto the floor now. So officials have closed this area off. They say that the entire corner here will ultimately covered up by them, at least until sometime this evening. But thats very latest here in San Francisco. Im Michael Thomas will send it back to michael, thank you for that update. Their time now is 904. Lets get to another breaking news story that involves a fire actually as well. Well, its a good witness. And the crime scene investigator rosalyn testified about collecting and processing the evidence. But she told the court she did not collect fingerprints from that rubber handle of the knife that was found at the scene. When you want to see if someones touching something, you fingerprint analysis, right . Because as we know because of covid dna can be expelled in coughing, sneezing, talking in close proximity track. I mean, theres a lot of ways dna can get from one place to the next. Okay. Fingerprints are different story. And they werent done on the handle, which is the most important relevant portion of who if any, was handling that item. Prior to the stabbing, police say that lee had been hanging out maybe sister and that led to an argument between the 2 men. The Court Proceedings continue today.
