It started about 5. 30 saturday afternoon, dozens of people were forced to evacuate the neighboring buildings. And it forced firefighters to Close University avenue in both directions for most of the night as they battle that giant blaze. It started about 5. 30 saturday evening and dozens of people were forced to evacuate neighboring buildings, but luckily, no injuries were reported. Thats right. It happened at the corner of university in shattuck just west of the cal campus it actually forced firefighters to Close University avenue in both directions most of the night as they fought those giant flames. Dozens of firefighters battled the blaze smoke could be seen from that fire for miles around the bay area pg e crews shut off electricity to the neighborhood. The assistant fire chief said trying to put out a fire at a construction site brings added dangers and challenges for firefighters.
