For the most part visibility under bridges should be ok as this layer of cloud cover sitting right above the bay itself. Later on today, youll still notice an increase in cloud cover compared to the past few days. But definitely some sunshine in brightness making its way through as for current temperatures, not near as cool as we were yesterday most of us are in the 40s and 50s to start in fact, im only seeing one 30 on the map right now thats for you in cloverdale at 39 degrees santa rosa a much warmer start than yesterday, a 49 while oakland, one of our warmest of spots at 57 degrees right now look at this temperature change from yesterday we are well above 10 degrees warmer than 24 hours ago for santa rosa, its 18 degrees up livermore 17 degrees warmer than at the same time yesterday later on today we will see daytime highs not much different than they were so sure were off to a warmer start to the morning. Well the School District has sent out a survey to parents you know just asking them to choose either the hybrid model or Distance Learning by monday. Getting that some people usually plan on hitting the gym to shake off those extra holiday pounds right. But thats about to get a little tricky in San Francisco. So starting friday Fitness Centers in the city. Well actually be required to reduce capacity to a maximum of 50 people indoors or less than 25 capacity. Kron 4 s Taylor Bisacky reports. San francisco gyms will be required to make capacity changes come friday. The city will require Fitness Centers to reduce capacity to 50 people from 100 they can operate at less than 25 capacity. The rollbacks come as coronavirus cases are increasing we were one of the survivors that. Fortunately could reopen when youre allowed to and you know were finally gaining some momentum in unfortunately, the cases arising director of marketing and fitness sf Trey Mcfarland says their gym locations were rd erring on the side of caution in operating at less than the allowed max capacity. He says the new rollbacks will reduce their capacity to anywhere from 30 to 40 members but is more worried for the restrictions come later, you know, were were trying to do everything we can in our closure would just be devastating and can really put more people out of business and makes 3 fitness owner Dave Carragher shares these concerns, everybody has been really really focus on whats going to happen in new years day because thats when new years resolutions kick in. And thats when all of these fitness businesses they really make so much of their annual revenue in those first 3 months of the year so for still going backwards and people dont have the opportunity to go to a gym to live up those new years resolutions are going to be trouble while the new rollbacks one affects smaller gyms with less capacity like his. Course as moving backwards in state reopening tears would which is why he and others asked people in the city to continue to do their part its up to all of us to make sure that. You know we do our job to make sure people feel safe but also that residents do their job to to stay headed in the right direction. While San Francisco has it moved backwards when it comes to the states reopening tears. The mayor says were on track to do so if we continue to see a rise in cases. She says thats why she impose these restrictions to keep more businesses open. Its also another important reminder to mask up and not get too comfortable as were still well in deep in this pandemic in San FranciscoTaylor Bisacky kron 4 news. Well as the weather continues to get colder around the bay area, many Restaurant Owners in San Francisco. Now need to come up with a special way to navigate outdoor dining, its getting a little complicated. Laurie thomas with the Golden Gate Restaurant Association owns 2 restaurants in kaleb she says that so many restaurants were already struggling in coming of the upcoming ban on Indoor Dining is just another blow that can have longterm effects. Its not that 25 makes or breaks a restaurant, its just 25 allows you to maybe survive in a few people that couldnt open for outside allows them to open and brought all their staff back and so its going to have a devastating effect theres going to be an immediate stop layoffs, youre going to see some restaurants that recently reopened number were 6 weeks into the 25 Indoor Dining capacity in addition to take out in addition to deliver a tiny not take out in addition to outdoor dining. So were going to see a pullbacks and staffing were going to see closures. Well Health Officials say the issue with indoor facilities is all about the aerosol component of the virus right which allows the virus to spread so well see what happens. Well to the east bay lafayette is implementing a temporary 15 cap on fees charged by at base fooddelivery businesses, you know like Doordash Uber eats and grubhub up. Well the Lafayette City Council unanimously approved the measure aimed to help struggling restaurants. The council also agreed on a 10 vendor fee cap on pickup orders. The new ordinance will take effect next monday and remain in place until the covid19 Health Emergency is declared over. Well everything from Retail Stores to Fitness Centers will be impacted by Contra Costa Countys latest round of rollbacks this move of from the orange tier back to the red means you know its going to start this friday. So Retail Stores to 50 capacity indoor shopping malls and food courts reduced to 25 capacity. Office work spaces must operate remotely Higher Education lecturers and gatherings thats down to 25 gyms and Fitness Centers to 10 capacity indoor pools and bowling alleys and other Indoor Entertainment Centers must close amusement parks cannot operate and most live outdoor theater and music and artistic performances are prohibited. Stepping back now just its necessary i guess case numbers are going up and something is you know got to. Keeping restrained were hoping by taking these actions. That were not only reducing the risk of transmission in these businesses but also sending out. A signal to the community that we really need to maintain all the steps that gonna numbers in the late summer early fall. Keep in mind that these restrictions do not prevent schools from reopening for indoor instruction. Its giving a Bay Area Transportation agency is considering layoffs the Golden Gate Bridge district will decide on friday whether or not to start cutting jobs. So the districts board of directors has 3 options so one is to cut 205 positions mostly bus drivers and ferry employees. The second option avoid layoffs by temporarily raising bridge tolls by 2 and then that 3rd option is to temporarily raising the tolls by one 1. 25 and avoid layoffs but require employees to take one unpaid furlough day per week. Now if the district does decide to try to raise tolls there would have to be a Public Comment period and then the board would have to vote again. Now if the tolls increase the toll increase were to fail the district would actually move forward with those layoffs. So well keep you posted.
