Warnings that are out there good afternoon maureen. Good afternoon just seen thats right. I mean this halloween was shaping up to be an epic halloween right is on a saturday theres going to be a full moon, its in San Francisco. I mean its really a beloved holiday here with kids and adults with dressing up getting out partying. But and its also the mayors favorite holiday. The mayor says were starting to see a rise in hospitalizations as peace earned also number of new coronavirus cases. She doesnt want people to think just because we are in the yellow tear that we can go and celebrate like we used to. And so what im concerned about right now is that as we go into the whole halloween weekend and people may feel good San Franciscos in a good place but were not and its going to put us in a situation where we may have to make some adjustments and as much as halloween is like my favorite holiday ever to celebrate even i have to take a step back from what i traditionally would want to do to do what is in the best interest of the people of the city because if wed all and were talking about future holidays where we wont be able to celebrate in the ways that we enjoy. So look at here is a decoration right on a house now the mayor house decorations are encouraged. Costumes are encouraged there pushing virtual costume contest is an idea. But theyre discouraging trick or treating the department of Public Health has a list of ideas if you have kids create a Haunted House inside but for just your household have a Scavenger Hunt in outside heading the treats like their easter eggs, but again just or your household and do have people over to celebrate keep it outdoors limited to 3 households and up to 25 people max, and thats it theres no food involved. And all right, another news after an almost twoyear investigation. The House Judiciary Committee today released its report on the trump administrations family separation policy. And here at kron 4 we spoke with south bay congresswoman zoe lofgren on the findings and she is the chairwoman of the subcommittee on immigration. Almost from the beginning i mean starting it almost as soon as the president was inaugurated, they initiated this plan to take children away from their parents as some kind of deterrent for people who are seeking asylum which the law allows. In the united states, its really. Took a long time to get all the information they were not very forthcoming. But its pretty obvious. This was an intentional plan. They did the socalled Pilot Project in el paso and found that they couldnt keep track of the children and their parents and they would have no way to reunite them knowing that. They went ahead expanded the policy of removing ship overrun from their parents all along southern border. And of course we now know because of the litigation that there are hundreds of children who has still not been reunited with their peers and may never be. Reunited they didnt even keep track which child went with which parent. The trauma that has been inflicted on these children. In some cases will never never be remedied as some of the pediatric societies and indicated really this is torture of these children. Now we know it was an intentional policy almost from the beginning. This first. And still ahead theres an ambitious drive to produce a covid19 vaccine at warp speed. But it seems to be running up against reality, well have a live report on why we all probably need to reset our expectations of just how quickly were going after earlier suggesting that a covid19 vaccine could be ready by election day which is tuesday. The president is now telling his followers that rallies that the vaccine is just around the corner, but now doctors and scientists are weighing in kron fours dan kerman is live for us this afternoon at Ucsf Medical Center in San Francisco with a vaccine reality check good afternoon. Dan. Good afternoon justine well earlier doctor Anthony Fauci weighed in on this with the National Institute of health. He is indicated that the earliest this could happen would be late december possibly early january. But doctors here at ucsf say that is overly optimistic and it is more than likely that those most in need will not get this in terms of mass distribution until several months after that. They even them the most robust. Scenarios i really dont think we will have a vaccine. So ready for distribution to the highest tier priority until spring of 2021. They maybe did string that this effort to cnn vaccine by the end of this calendar year. But in terms of someone sticking their arm out to get the vaccine probably not until spring of 2021. Now that top tier includes Health Care Workers as well as seniors again. Doctors here saying very unlikely that could happen before spring in as for the rest of us what does that mean well that likely means fall as for the reasons for that they say in some cases it is testing that has had to be stopped mid testing because of anomalies that have gone on in the Testing Process but they say in reality it was an Unrealistic Target to begin with talking about election day. They say that the trials go on as they are going on and the longer it takes the focus even more effectiveness we will have vaccine and the sure we will be that these vaccine actually work but again a reality check at least according to doctors here ucsf that full distribution of the vaccine at least to the you need come to spring in for the rest of us likely, not until the fall.
