This is a big disappointment for many people and businesses here in Sonoma County and one supervisor i spoke to says a lot of it has to do with the countys makeup of its population, its elderly facilities and the recent fires all bay area counties are now allowing more indoor activities. Contra costa and sonoma counties not advancing to the less restrictive read here in california is reopening framework that would allow for Indoor Dining personal services in Person Learning museums in more a different capacity levels its really hard not being about upper indoors. Thats because the county has now been in the state to red tier for 2 straight weeks, but the south bays Largest School district says its going to continue with Distance Learning at least through the end of the year. A spokesperson for san jose unified School District says that the district just doesnt feel safe yet to welcome students back. Because there are other things that are in the county guidelines that are still prohibited right indoor gatherings for example and from my perspective if people cant gather indoors than it doesnt make a lot of sense to put 30 kids in a classroom together which seems similar to an indoor gathering. The spokesperson says that a key consideration in san jose unified decision to stick with Distance Learning is the burden of being responsible for testing students for covid19 28,000 students to go to schools within that district. A private School System in Solano County is working to resume in person classes. So hes working with Solano CountyHealth Department to make sure that that happens before theyre moved up the states covid19 tier. This is a psa provided by the diocese of what the new setting will be like theyve already implemented in Person Learning in Eldorado Hills and want to set that up in Solano County its not mandatory families have been offered to keep their kids at home. If they are uncomfortable coming back. And so were very comfortable giving our families the option to act stay home, we know that that students are family members in a household may have an underlying condition or that might just be a Parental Choice and were very respectful of that and so are families will have the option of choosing either in class or at home instruction. The superintendent saying about half of parents, they surveyed are eager to do so well parents we spoke with whose kids attend Saint Catherine saint basil, see their schools represent a different demographic proven to be much more vulnerable to adverse effect of the coronavirus theyre worried that the children who do choose to stay at home may not get the best education while teachers that are forced to be in the classroom trying to divide their time between the physical and virtual obligations. But they also shared health and job security concerns like what will happen to the teachers with Underlying Health conditions who are in highrisk categories and may not return its problematic for 2 number we were initially told that if are. If we decided to keep our students home. While other students went back into in person instruction. It would be treated as if they were sick students so they would only be given it. To do. Well were still paying full tuition. The other problem with that is that we have teachers and faculty who fall into highrisk categories and they live with other persons who theyre not able to socially distance from if they do go back to in person instruction. There are california guidelines about returning to schools and part of that is that accommodation is will be for teachers who are unable to return due being at higher risk Health Groups or living in households with are not able to socially distance when they got to return to inperson instruction so thats very problematic. But the School System is continuing to make changes across 6 campuses in Solano County. In case. Theyre waiver is approved. By taking a live look outside right now at San Franciscos embarcadero. Lawrence is here with a look at the weather. Yeah guys hey what a nice first day of fall look outside right now i got a shot of the moon of the right now just above weve got some clouds out there some. Those clouds coming from a cold front thats kind of fall apart bringing some nice guys the bay area still were in for some nice weather tonight, it looks like a heat wave, when you know. Return to some summer like weather as we get in toward the weekend weve got to go gate bridge looking good mostly cloudfree there are a couple batches of fog developing along the coastline. But other than that were mostly clear right now. The winds have kicked up today some places high as 30 Miles Per Hour through some of the mountain gaps but now start to watch those come back a little miles an hour in the San Francisco, 18 still in the valley and 12 mile an hour winds in fairfield but some nice fresh air again around the bay areas weve had that onshore breeze developing more see that continue at least for another couple of days, heres the next cold front that is approaching the Pacific Northwest is going to bring them some much needed rain to help the fire situation up there the bay area and you see some of those high clouds drift on through and temperatures going to come down. I think as we get into thursday and possibly friday, but today, not a bad day at all the sort out your fall temperatures a little bit below the average in the San Francisco 67 slightly above the average of 75 in oakland 81 in san jose 86 degrees and live more 89 in concord in 87 degrees can i stay in santa rosa with some sunshine. Out there right now generally in the 60s almost 70 degrees right now in concord certainly a nice evening out there and thats why its going to stay mostly clear all night then some patchy fog right along the immediate coastline tomorrow, mostly sunny low cloud cover moving in late today along the coastline again and then much warmer weather expected this weekend with some of those offshore winds. Were talking about the possibility of some higher fire danger certainly going to watch out for that. So National Weather service has already issued a fire weather watch these of the just the look out for as we get close to the weekend starting saturday morning at 11 00am continue into monday were watching into the east bay, alabama alameda and contra costa counties going to see some of those gusts over the mountain tops about 30 to 40 Miles Per Hour slow county that dry northerly wind again those winds maybe won 25 to 40 Miles Per Hour. And then as you get in the north bay about a 1000 feet you have to watch out for spots, were looking at some of those gusts possibly, 35 to 50 Miles Per Hour doesnt look like a major offshore wind event but just enough to get things going dangerous fire conditions with temperatures going to be topping out i think as we get the weekend 90s maybe some triple digits again so heres that from it is going to approach the coastline as it does we still have High Pressure out ahead of it that will bring us another nice day i think that ridge breaks down slightly as we get into thursday and friday that allow us to cool down but get ready for a big warmup but more on that youre temp 10 coming up a few minutes.
