Another big story were following is the air quality across much of the bay area much better air today than we saw one week ago when the skies were that bright orange color. So we want to talk now about the air quality this is an index map thats on our website, mostly green areas indicate good air quality and were seeing that stretching all the way from salinas way south to stockton and even sacramento. And up towards the north bay green. Green means good ill say that all right thats also on our website kron 4 dot com as we take a live look outside now the golden gate bridge. Lets take a look outside Crystal Clear skies and we can actually breathe as we head outside in the bay area because of those good air particles for most of the coast and even for the northern portion of the east bay, but we are tracking some moderate air particle though hayward southward into san jose in the south bay, so we still have a spare the air alert in effect right now through this evening in addition that an air quality advisory, but justine what a difference a week we are heading in the right direction, and its certainly being aided by these westerly winds light to breezy right now sustained winds at 20 Miles Per Hour long downtown San Francisco pushing all of that smoke and ash away from the bay area and thats how we like it in fact were going to continue to see that trend for your thursday as well wind speeds out of the west northwest at 20 Miles Per Hour less for your thursday afternoon and but we do have some changes heading our way thursday is going to be a transitional day could see a few degrees of cooling but then by friday into saturday 5 to 10 degrees below average as a dry storm tries to sweep through the bay area be more of a wind maker than a rainmaker and this is going to have an impact on high fire danger concerns later this weekend into early next week and possible smoke concerns as well more coming up in my full forecast in a few minutes just seen back to you thank you now california firefighters are trying to contain dozens of major wildfires across the state. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi meantime dismissed the deals this week as a distraction i asked congressman hoffman for his thoughts. I think normalization of relations between israel and some of the Sunni Arab States in the gulf has got a good thing. I would be hard to take all that a bad thing, but i dont think we should declare this peace in the middle east there was no conflict between these countries anyway. We saw i know a lot of the details and frankly, theres still no progress at all on the palestinian and this Israeli Government has as unfortunate steps away from progress on that so im happy to see the normalization of relations between these these countries but i declare him and hes in the middle east i think is a stretch. I feel in this afternoon. Thats right were. Were here on the embarcadero in San Francisco, most of San Francisco or we should say most of San Francisco and most of the coastal areas of the western part of the bay area if you will. As air number in the green zone which is great we havent seen. Green for almost a month now other parts are in the yellow but almost nowhere is their red which weve seen for almost a month. Todays day 30 of a spare the air day they declared this couple of days ago, not realizing this good air was going to come so quickly, but it is now here and people are loving it. The San Francisco skyline has become visible again on a backdrop of blue skies as winds have pushed that blanket of smoke to the east. Creating good air quality. Like to actually see blue skies above us is like i didnt even realize how much it was hurting see so its across San Francisco people were taking advantage of it going for a walk with the kids eating lunch outside playing tennis or laying out in dolores park. Or going for a jog along the embarcadero. It feels amazing were so happy to be on about i would say you can now hear birds chirping again. I dont think i heard birds 4 days, its a wednesday far different than the one a week ago bay area skies were a moody orange apocalyptic some called it. The day that the dawn never came. And the contrast between one way you know its really nice to blue sky, air quality experts say after 30 seconds. Is a possibility smoke will return to the bay area over the weekend. A nice break well take what we can get these days. Thats the way most people feel theyre going to get out theyre going to enjoy this air for the next couple of days, we are in the clear air quality experts say definitely today and thursday and friday, no spare the air alerts then it is possible we will see the smoke pushing down from the north again this weekend though they are not sure theyre not positive about that it could be just the northern in the very eastern parts of the bay area.
