And time to turn to the forecast meteorologist Mabrisa Rodriguez and a brace of this could be a critical weekend ahead for firefighters why so well its going to be critical catherine just because i am tracking a deeper marine layer tonight during the overnight hours. That is going to spread inland before triple digit or near triple digit heat returns to most of our valleys next week. So lets take a look at temperatures out there right now already starting to get that marine le or influence along downtown San Francisco in Half Moon Bay with midfifties there oakland cooling down to 67 degrees with widespread 70s as you make your way inland. But mid to upper 80s for our tribe valleys right now so current wind speeds right now the gusty us in downtown San Francisco seeing sustained winds at 20 Miles Per Hour less but future cast for is going to show the return of that marine layer even spreading inland during the overnight hours, adding some much needed much welcome moisture for our firefighters during the overnight hours we are going to notice relative humidity still a little bit dry in the 30th to 40th percentile for most of our driest inland valleys in the north bay and east bay, but the good news is tracking cooler weather as we head our way inland by this weekend until we really start to crank up the heat for most of this upcoming week more my full forecast in just a few minutes catherine back to you thank you members saw today and Alameda County personal Care Services were given the ok to resume working outdoors of course there are rules heading into the weekend you can now see hair and nail salons and barbershops skin care. Capitol Bureau ReporterAshley Zavala explains state leaders rolled out a brand new system friday to determine how and when different parts of the economy can reopen covid19 will be with us for a long time. And we need to adapt moving away from its Community Spread watch list system the state will now use a 40 year to colorcoded system from purple representing counties with widespread covid19 transmission to read for substantial orange for moderate and yellow for minimal the tears are based on covid19 case and positivity rates you some noted 38 counties in california are in the purple widespread tier with the strictest rules but we again expect this to be a dynamic list. And continue to see people move into different tiers no matter what tier of counties on newsome announced indoor barber shops hair salons and indoor malls can reopen across the state the handful of counties representing 12 of the states population in the red tear can reopen indoor operations at jims restaurants, personal care salons museums, zoos and places of worship with minimal capacity schools can also reopen in counties that have been in the red tier for 2 weeks just over one percent of californias population is within the orange and yellow tears which can open indoor operations at wineries bars and card rooms with other businesses allowed to expand capacity, this is going to require us in this new framework. Thats really built around being statewide being stringent and being slow. State leaders say moving from tier 2 tier will be tough each county will have to stay on each tier for at least 21 days. But those businesses given this latest green light can reopen as soon as monday. Reporting in sacramento, Ashley Zavala kron 4 news. Time for another look at the forecast were looking live at the over the Golden Gate Bridge and that nice marine layer which. Continues to be a good news mowbray so. Yeah, a little bit of good and bad news, the good news is that it does add some more moisture content especially during this dry air mass but the bad news is that its actually helping to push that smoke and ash into the bay area and just really having it linger we may have noticed some more poor air quality especially along the coast and east bay shoreline with the poorest amounts right along the bay areas shoreline. No surprise san mateo and oakland getting the brunt of the poorest air particles pretty unhealthy lit up in orange for those of you in the east bay, but moderate amounts for most of the north bay and south bay, but we are going to notice. The continued smoke impacts as far as air quality goes at the ports amounts. Not just along the coast, but also continuing for the east bay as well so thats what we do have that spare the air alert through sunday, taking a live look outside of the east bay over berkeley and we could see that marine layer really just lingering and hovering not only bringing some much needed air mass as far as moisture content but also allowing those por air particles just hover and sit over the bay area lets take a look at temperatures out there right now as you head out the door widespread mid 50s along the San Francisco peninsula coastline and cooling down into the mid 60s right along the east bay shoreline san jose 76 degrees livermore in the upper 80s with widespread 70s for those of you in the north bay napa 71 degrees in santa rosa 74 degrees in current wind speeds out there right now fortunately on the light to breezy side 20 Miles Per Hour less and we are going to notice that even continuing through this weekend as well as stormtracker 4 though tracking that fog bank right along the coast expected to spread inland during the overnight hours cooling us down into the mid to upper 50s along the bay areas shoreline and low 60s as you make your way inland with near average highs for your saturday afternoon. Downtown San Francisco 66 degrees oakland in the low 70s, mid 80s for san jose and santa rosa both at 84 degrees and low 90s for tri valley. So lets take a look ahead at the next 7 day outlook. Hotter and drier weather for most of this upcoming workweek catherine all we want to see during this high fire danger threat with all of these popup thunderstorms and activity that we saw at that complex fire fortunately though drier weather but still not going to help out firefighters. Impacting and dealing with all of those fires back to you all right lisa thanks very much. In the south bay in person classes theyve resumed at one elementary school. This is after a successful appeal to the county Health Department kron fours Charles Clifford has the story from sunnyvale. Well all around the bay area, many parents are hoping to get their kids back into the classrooms as soon as possible here in sunnyvale in sunnyvale a Christian School right behind me they have received a waiver from the Santa Clara County public Health Department allowing them to resume in person classes the school says so far its only been 2 days but so far things have gone well. In order to be granted a waiver by the county the school had to make changes to prevent the spread of coronavirus students, teachers and staff are now required to wear masks remain 6 feet apart, wash their hands frequently visitors are also not allowed on campus and the school has made changes to allow the kids to learn outside as much as possible. Vice principal margot dixon says so far the students are adjusting to the changes pretty well theyve adapted really quickly and its mainly just keeping them. The 60 department inside the gate we have little dots on the ground that weve measured out the 60 so. We did on my merry last year and then we can have this year and its its hard and so we just feel so blessed that we were able to be here now the other concern the school has is the smoke in the air. The vice principal who you just heard from told me that the school is trying to get air filters for all its classrooms. But erywhere theyve looked a those air filters are sold out they have put an order on amazon. But at this point they dont know when they might get those filters.
