At this point is at least in the bay areas excessive heat watch for is an excessive heat warning already for the Central Valley and points south we expect to get an upgrade this afternoon to warning category as well. This is whats going on though this he excessive heat watch goes east of the east bay hills and in the south bay to sometimes the Santa Clara Valley is not included in all this this go around it is and then up the Solano County youre in this as well with temperatures 95. Well beyond the triple digits. All right breaking it down for you today, 87 by 11 by 2 oclock at 98 noting some of those scattered clouds in there which actually may shave off a couple quick other critical degrees. Partially because of some tropical moisture bubbling up from the south this kind of a side know what this all together for you to cut your forecast coming up. It sounds good. Thank you dave. Another big story that were following for you this morning governor newsome says that california may be turning a corner in its fight against the coronavirus but. He says that progress could disappear if people do not remain vigilant. Lets check in with kron fours reyna harvey who is live in alameda with an update rain. And good morning. So a little bit of good news for us waking up the governor says weve see a decline in new cases as well as a decline in hospitalization rates and this is all because you have Health Officials going back through case loads of undocumented cases that were unaccounted for and theyre attributing this to a day to fill your but now were finally getting a look at the numbers and its a bright number today, were looking at hospitalization rates and those have actually gone down about 21 . Now icu admissions those have gone down 15 over the past 14 days. The number of newly confirmed cases on wednesday was 5,433 the numbers shows a significant decrease from that record 12,807 new daily cases reported across the state during this like we saw last month now its important to know were talking about the officials processing those in nearly 300,000 coronavirus tests results that were lost because of the data error so again we still are looking at these numbers closely and that number could change but again the governors saying it is looking good as of right now the governor also talked about why its important for people to keep consistently trying to stay safe and keep others safe during the coronavirus take a listen. Here we are making all this progress and you can be done away. You know a day to a week to people begin again too let their guard down can let your guard down kind of continue a practice all of these rules of the road as it relates to what we know works nonfarm mikel interventions to mitigate the spread of this disease, including wash your hands of an an again more important wearing a mask and so when encourage you to do just that. Right so the governor said Health Officials are saying it you want to continue the same behavior wearing a mask practicing social distancing and washing your hands because those are all the factors that are contributing to the case numbers going down but again that can easily change if those things are not consistent for now reporting here in Alameda Reyna harvey kron 4 news, yeah, its a Community Effort we all have to do our part thank you reena marty. Robin wonder this Current Health order indoor gyms must remain closed, but a select few have been able to partially reopen outside with some special permits but for others, the closures are pushing them deeper into debt, dave character is the owner of a cone or no conor rather of mx 3 fitness in San Franciscos castro neighborhood. Hes also a member of the San Francisco independent Fitness Studio coalition that represents about 700 workers in the past 2 weeks character says that 6 of the groups Fitness Centers closed because of the pandemic mixed 3 fitness recently opened supervise sidewalk workouts character admits this Business Model wont keep them open for long. Were still down 80 in terms of our revenue we anticipate many more on the horizon i was talking to a gym. Just the other day one of the bigger gyms and they have right now a quarter of a Million Dollars worth of debt. We have 20,000 worth of debt. Well earlier this week, the Fitness Studio coalition took those concerns to the citys health officer, asking why physical therapist can reopen but personal trainers cant so now theyre asking the city to change the way it reopens businesses. Well to the east bay now the Oakland School district has reached a tentative agreement with the Teachers Union about Distance Learning the 2 sides released this joint statement saying quote while we do not always agree on the details both o e a n o u s c are passionate about serving oakland students and families we have worked diligently to reach an agreement to shape Distance Learning for all students and only 8 members unquote. Union Officials Say that money is not the issue teachers are concerned about time from packing a full semester of instruction into just weeks another issue is being able to hire retired teachers and substitutes to coat eat. The union asked that no mandate schedules began before 09 00am or after 02 15pm that allows more time for teachers are also caregivers for parents or children. Union members will vote on this plan in the next few days. Now to the south bay this morning, the first day of school is in the books for the san jose unified School District, teachers work from home for the first time in this comes after the district had previously said the majority of teachers need to return to campus to deliver their virtual lessons but teachers are still worried about that because some of them have their own children at home as well, younger kids or those with learning disabilities who may not have a strong support system at home. Well fall behind because its tough to stay engaged for a whole day online. This is mornings inherently inequitable it is really challenging for families when theyre trying to figure out what exactly theyre going to do. Theres a lot of families rely on schools for and i think theres a lot of families are nervous about during this time our commitment as a School District is to do everything we can to support them as they navigate these challenges. So the district is urging parents to contact them with contact their Student Services team if they do need extra help. On the peninsula, san mateo counties making sure all of its students are ready for Distance Learning it announced a partnership with local School Districts to provide nearly 3 Million Dollars to help students get online. The program is geared toward students from Rural Communities or low income households. Now the support will include high Speed Internet packages wireless hot spots and also expanding public wi fi. Ucsf police say theyve arrested a suspect in the murder of a man inside of one of their medical buildings the fatal encounter started inside of the lobby of the ambulatory care center on irving street at 6. 15 Tuesday Morning police say an image captured by a surveillance camera take a look shows the suspect could be seen fighting with the victim. Now that victim identified as 66 yearold and tunbridge ali was able to exit the building but collapse right there on the sidewalk a nurse on their way to work tried to revive the victim but he was later pronounced dead in the campus e r a bystander found the news of the victims death unsettling. And i could both resulting in death tragedy gardens. The suspect was arrested early wednesday on charges of firstdegree murder and Robbery Police have not released the suspects identity nor the cause of death. Police say it does not appear that the victim knew his alleged attacker. Well over and lyft are threatening to close in california because of a court order this week, a judge ruled that Rideshare Companies like uber left most classified their california drivers as employees instead of independent contractor, ubers the ceo says that thats financially impossible. Kron fours michelle kingston explains. I would rather see them shut down and continue to exploit people steve gregg drove for uber for almost 4 years totaling at more than 16,000 rides throughout the bay area are quit basically in a panic attack when coronavirus hit greg stop driving fearful of getting sick. He also saw this as a way out of the company one that he says was never supportive of its drivers if you cant. Some like to provide a social safety net. As these laws are designed to do for the people who are working for you whether their employees or contractors, not in the system is broken and needs to change just this week, a california judge ordered both uber and lyft to treat their california drivers as employees instead of independent contractors guaranteeing them benefits like any other fulltime employee uber says it will likely be forced to shut down operations in the state for several months if its required to do this the attorney general in city attorneys in san diego, los angeles and here in San Francisco sued the ride hailing firms arguing they were violating the law by deeming their drivers to be independent contractors both companies are under pressure to alter their Business Models in california. Well some drivers though actually prefer the flexibility of working independently. Majority of drivers are parttime they are doing 10 or 20 hours a week or less so its probably not a shocker that a lot of them kind of you know uber and lyft have its problems to have its positives and negatives that have been well documented, but i think a lot of drivers are scared about losing that flexibility to log on whenever and wherever you aunt lawyers for uber and lyft say drivers are not fundamental to the business i want to see people who were working for a living. Earning a fair wage and having a social safety net not living in fear of not having insurance not living in fear of losing their job both uber and lyft are expected to fight the ruling. And San Francisco, mi helle kingston kron 4 news. Lets go down to Southern California where a Massive Wildfire continues to burn in los angeles county. This is the lake fire started yesterday afternoon and just look at the flames, its exploded to 10,000 acres. So far and still 0 containment this morning. Authorities continue to work to evacuate residents who live north of lake hughes about 60 miles northeast of downtown los angeles. The red cross has opened a temporary Evacuation Center in palmdale but because of the pandemic theyre asking evacuees to stay in their cars. The exact cause of the fire still unknown this morning. And still ahead on the kron 00 04am morning news, california prisons are hot spots for coronavirus cases, especially at san quentin. Well find out what inmate advocates want from prison officials to fix the problem. And after the after the break how a lack of toll booth workers at the bay area bridges are causing proving to be quite co alright hope youve got the sunscreen handy because youre going to need a day as far as to tell us all about the heat up for the bay area heidi a good morning morning, good morning, everybody looks like karl, the fog is trying to leave the golden gate a little bit how about the shot of sfo, lots of blue skies to be had here as well and. Got the sunscreen part right its going to be mighty toasty although little wrinkle in there with some tropical moisture a little bit of it coming in from the south which ill show you 60s in the east bay for now up to the north a lot of 50s 48 going on for the bottle, 63, san jose so send it down to Southern California just to give you a general perspective of all this going on this extends pretty far to the north already close to monterey bay. Beyond that point remains very clear so this is tropical moisture going over very unfamiliar environment if you will its free cold waters and so forth so its not coming together at all, but it is producing rain and it goes over land to get the daytime heating sometimes you get some instability going on were getting some rain echoes as you can see here hopefully is going to fall in that lake fire were just talking about earlier and you can see theres more stream to be had. But for the bay area you can also see this is migrating to the north and its going to play into our forecast in a minor way through the next about 24 hours by tomorrow morning. Late in the morning, this will be put to bed however before we get there well be sprayed by some cloudiness later today, maybe by 2 oclock, its still far south in monterey bay. Then as we get later in the evening overnight here it comes. It holds with that a little chance camp completely ruled out of a little sprinkle or showers a possibility most likely Higher Elevation areas and this is what it looks like for tomorrow morning. It bypasses us by the late Morning Hours we get much more action in the sierra and we got a mostly sunny for your friday afternoon and thats where the heat advisory or excuse me the heat watch goes into warning mode for the rest of the weekend. Beautiful shot here as you can see the bay bridge toll plaza so for today that fog clears out itsu already done that nicely. Warm for the beta near hot really. And meanwhile inland its 90s to 100. So excessive heat watch expected to be upgraded to a warning this afternoon covers us for friday. Saturday into sunday Solano County east bay counties east the east bay hills and also includes down to the south bay and so going to be till sunday evening. This will also be for next week. Were looking for temperatures in the middle 90s with all of this in those inland valley, so its a drop by grant but not a big big drop its still going to feel very summer like just take that some weekend edge off of it there were going to get for today thrown some scattered clouds in here this might be overdoing it particular for the east bay in north bay, but in the south bay you might see some of this by this evening, maybe 73 San Francisco, 81 oakland, 91 san jose so getting hot even in the south bay too. Heres a sample of some of the highs were talking today, one oh one conquered one o 104, antioch what about 98 for livermore walnut creek has about 99 going on today and upper 80s on the east bay shoreline. Tomorrow, these will be graduated up to some 90s here on the east bay shoreline in 100 to be found off to the east bay coming up in a bit well be taking a look at that 4 zone forecast in the extended there right now robin has it will check into traffic with one around. Well we still have a long line on 80 heading into San Francisco this morning. It started a couple of hours ago with an accident near the tunnel of course that crash is long gone, but traffic just never recovered so yes, its still backed up through the bottom of the maze. But overall your drive time is not bad because its under 15 minutes from the bottom of the maze and over to fremont street in right now no active crashes or stall so thats good. All right, lets head over to the san mateo bridge to 92 west a lot of folks start using it when they found out it was so heavy and slow on the bay bridge. So now we have some heavy traffic here too if you need to get from the east bay over to the peninsula. Youre averaging 20 minutes here from the nimitz off to one o one marty. All right robin going cashless since costing millions of dollars in revenue for the Bay Area Toll Authority and having fewer drivers crossing the bridges has led to a 120 Million Dollar drop in toll revenue kron fours phillipe djegal has more. Going cashless has led to less money people are racking up bills dating back to march when a statewide shelterinplace order was issued due to the covid19 pandemic the Bay Area Toll Authority says about 16 Million Dollars in tolls have gone unpaid for all 7 bridges combined and that number is growing by 4 Million Dollars each month. Toll Authority SpokespersonRandy Rentschler says this is a result. Of the governor eliminating toll, takers and Cash Payments tolls are not recorded through fast track or by license plate readers which pulled the drivers address. The Golden Gate Bridge has not seen the same rise in unpaid bridge tolls as other bay area bridges because it is already transitioned to a cashless system long before the pandemic were going to find a way to collect the tolls the question is how and when the Toll Authority says it has taken a soft approach on collection, it has the power to send out warning letters impose fines and even withholding violators auto registration so far it has not done that for parents and minders to people. And the question is how far down the path of enforcement do we want to go mindful of this very painful and difficult time that everybodys experience rentschler says about 60 of the people who have not paid their bills have only cross the bridge was on the other spectrum. We have very few people like one percent along outstanding people will cross. But they account for like 50 or 60 trips to low 30s says its total revenue on the 7 toll bridges is down about 120 Million Dollars for the year. And that number is growing by 14 Million Dollars a month. Traffic was down by about 70 at one point and is slowly starting to recover. We do go wrong. New this morning. The number of laidoff workers applying for Unemployment Benefits fell below 1 million for the first time in 5 months. Still more than 960,000 people applied for unemployment just last week, fewer people are also continuing to receive state jobless aid that number dropped by more than half a since last week all told 23 states have paused or reverse reopenings as the number of coronavirus cases increases across the country. Before your money this morning worry that kids wont trick or treat this october hersheys is sending halloween candy to stores a full month earlier than expected. And 79 of americans say theyre considering getting a Coronavirus Vaccine lets check in with jane king whos live in new york. But those stories and more j. A robin good morning. Its pretty High Percentage of 79 according to this value penguin survey americans say they will release are seriously considering getting a Coronavirus Vaccine. Once its available now 36 said they dont get it immediately 42 said the wait at least a week so in terms of comparison. The cdc says 55 of adults in the u. S. Did not get a flu shot last years only 45 of americans got a flu shot while the number of americans trade can teachers has dropped by a 3rd since 2010. The center for American Progress says the drop suggests the issues plaguing the professional. And Drilling School funding has discouraged potential educators in effect of your labor statistics from their own 600,000 fewer americans working in education now than in february this year americans finally get some relief at the Grocery Store as prices fell prices of food for homes fell over one percent meat prices in particular were down except for hot dogs, they actually got more expensive in july probably because of july 4th celebrations and hersheys is preparing for a downturn in trick or treating candy sales by starting the Holiday Shopping season early they get 10 of their annual sales from halloween so those halloween displays are going up now said wait until midseptember live from new york, im jane king back to you. We all just said were staying home and were eating all the candy, a sorry the mardi one coming up on the kron 4 morning news tuition or ran well find out why south bay Sorority Sisters are calling out their National Leadership for the tough choice. They say theyre being forced to make. And after the break should you go in for your routine teeth, cleaning well find out what the World Health Organization is saying about welcome back everyone should you delay your routine dental visit thats the big question well according to new guidelines from the World Health Organization, the answer is yes, its because of the way covid19 spread its new guidance from the w h o urges that routine oral health is its you know like your checkups or cleanings and Preventative Care should actually be delayed Infectious Disease expert doctor Yvonne Maldonado says that while the w h o has released its updated guidelines. Theyre looking at the issue from a global perspective, were certain areas just might not have proper ppe. Really going to be a risk benefit calculation calculation here for both the provider and the patient. But yeah i think cleaning teeth is its not a trivial issue tennis really important for Overall Health that is oral health. Well doctor maldonado went on to say that as long as urgent as follows cdc protocol in orders from local health departments. You should be safe to get those routine checkups. And if you get those checkouts baby youll be able to smile like a lot of parents in marin county because now they can tell their kids join a Sports Program and they have the endorsement of the good morning, 7. 29 this thursday morning welcome back to the kron 00 04am morning news, yes, we need to get an update on your forecast. Good morning, everybody and a live shot coming in from san jose state with the blue skies checking in here. And youll be impacted by this as well as we watch heats by come our way got the 60s covering much of the east bay for right now 50s up to the north bay 57, San Francisco, half moon bay. We yeah, 48. So excessive heat watch it is at this point for our friday afternoon is when it starts to go all the way to saturday covering the east bay east of the east bay hills down to Santa Clara Valley as well. And Solano County looking to to what these temperatures in the 90s onward to beyond 100 thats going to be all weekend long and not thats going to be real chilly, rick or anything in the next week, its just going to relax back to seasonality it looks like breaking it down for you today, wow 87 by 11 by 2 oclock 98 noting some afternoon clouds building here with all the heating that we have here, theres the potential in the Santa Cruz Mountains say are Higher Elevations might have an isolated little street in and or shower perhaps thrown in there for good measure of the possibility with this new tropical air just a gander at some of the high temperatures we have projected here the far east bay, 100 plus you can see 98 for livermore 80s and 90s going on up in the north bay. Coming up in a bit of course were going to have the 4 zone forecast for you show you that extended in the hot weekend coming our way marty. All right dave, thanks lawn, lets go to the north bay this morning where marine county leaders i have issued a new Health Guideline for children and child care and Youth Programs kron fours will tran standing by in moran, he has all the latest for us on this high will. Good morning. Marty yes Health Officials right behind me in this building there they are given the endorsement of parents who have been telling their kids get offline get outside and get some sunshine get some sports in you. Now you could do that with the blessing of Health Officials in marin county take a look at your screen. These are the things you can do in just a few days from now this is on august 17th they looked at the covid19 numbers and it looks like. We are trending in the right direction meaning down and that means that you can add actually more to your Sports Programs from 12 to 15 people. You can tell your child they could be involved in 2 sports at the same time so maybe running in tennis something outdoors because that is still mandatory for now theyre not letting anybody doing anything in signing of answer tournaments they dont care if youre from the same school so you have to do it outside. Plus they want you to practice social distance that is the nude or moving forward, but at least this is a little bit of wiggle room because they wanted to shut it down for quite some time because of fear of covid19 going throughout the community, especially to our precious kids. Now with the case is going down and even gavin newsom is talking about that that they looked at the backlog looks pretty good. Nothing indoors. Just yet. But if were in county mur de gets off the states watch list and things continue the way they are there is a good chance down the road. They could bring things indoors like basketball and that is great because with the rainy season coming up that winter. Get your kids out there get some activity and they realize its not just your education, your mind thats important they want your body to be healthy as well so a little bit of good news. Coming out of Marion County and by the way because kron 4 we do more can i piggyback on what dave spahr said its only what 7. 35 and the left side of my screen when it started there marty i was pale and how dark it because of the sun coming up at this time. Well, you know i was going to tell you based on based on what youre wearing it looks like its already warm and marine as well right. I and sweating already and its i wish you would just stop Mother Nature would take our foot off the gas pedal thats not going to happen, we know its going to be really hot. Thank goodness for flipflops there you thanks a lot. Well tread reporting for us from of steam or in this morning. Here in the bay area there are more than 64,000 cases and more than 900 coronavirus related deaths in the bay area continue to see the most cases in Alameda County with over 14,000 infections. The virus has also been deadliest in Alameda County. 212 people have died from the virus. You can find a complete list of cases by county on our website kron 4 dot com robin. Want to see more than 2200 trona virus cases in 25 deaths. It appears the spread of covid19 at San Quentin State Prison is slowing with only 32 new cases in just the last 14 days. During an online News Conference inmates and their advocates spoke of little to no social distancing for ventilation and little attention to keeping those who have the virus apart from those who dont advocates say too little is being done to prevent another search and theyve been calling on prison officials to cut the prison population. What concerns us. Not only is the well pretty sick ones are small the but the state has done far too little to address population in a suit for too little to address. Moving the medically vulnerable to safety. Well so far 11,000 inmates have been released early statewide with sen queen remains at just over 100 capacity prison officials are now reviewing whether to release 6500 inmates who may be medically vulnerable so far only 8 of those have been released. Well now that students are beginning the new school year the question remains why do children get covid19 and frequently and have less severe symptoms ucsf benioff Childrens Hospital doctor naomi bardack says that the main reason is that the differences in the level of transmission between the 2 age groups she asked that the most recent data shows that children are more likely to get a covid19 at home instead of school. The big question is is it safe for children to physically return to school during the pandemic. The show that younger children dont seem to transmit has officially as the Older Age Group or as adults or when i say open everything now found interest was not going to probably do a better job in that remedy goals. But we have our support all those things and talk about them asking physical distancing regulations. Well doctor water bardack says that ultimately to succeed against covid19 its going to take more funding and better testing. Now to the south bay this morning, a group of San Jose State UniversitySorority Sisters say theyre being forced to choose between 2 ihsan and rent. At a News Conference wednesday at San Jose State University sorority called out its National Leadership for not being very sisterly the sorority says at least 28 of its members are being forced to live communally during the pandemic they also charge that headquarters that is refusing to allow tenants many of them facing Financial Hardship to opt out of their 10,000 and youll housing contract. Pie to simply deny or struggles during a pandemic and economic crisis is not sisterly theres not sisterly love young adults to contracts by prior to the pandemic these contracts are so hard to get out of we currently have members of delta sigma plan on dropping out of school for the fall semester because thats the only way page to let them out of their financial contracts. Well the students are also demanding that the waiver of 2 to 3,000 in annual fees that go to maintain another off campus building. Ahead this morning gun violence has erupted over the last week in oakland well find out what Police Believe is behind the spike and senseless shootings. And the white house is the least 8 recommendations aimed at making schools safer during the pandemic will find out how students and staff are being welcome back everyone, the Trump Administration remains adamant about reopening us classrooms. It released a general recommendations for school similar to earlier hygiene tips. That comes on the heels of some students and staff entering isolation after testing positive for the virus John Lawrence reports. President trump announcing the federal government is providing up to 125 Million Masks to schools, nationwide my administration also stand ready to deploy cdc teams to support schools that are opening. And schools that need help. In safety. The white house is encouraging students and staff to use masks but theres no mandate. The president s priority is to open the schools and open them safely and have have the options to. Either use open schools or do whatever they can to eventually get back to open schools but some Health Experts are skeptical about the white houses new coronavirus advisor doctor scott atlas a neuro radiologist some with no Public Health who has advocated for herd immunity now advising the president of the United States herd immunity means 1 million dead americans. Thats what it would take to get to herd immunity. Thats not a plan. Thats a catastrophe the push to get students back in class comes as the u. S. Is averaging nearly 53,000 new cases per day according to Johns Hopkins university. Thats an 11 drop from the week before we get to go to school we got open up were going to open up our schools and open up by businesses. And a lot of it has been open but. We can do better. Im John Lawrence reporting. All right, heres a sample we expect for today going on here ya the upper 90s in the inland valleys by the mid afternoon. And once the sun some clouds pretty hot today, how hot 12 lets check in with the expert meteorologist dave spahr standing by day well good morning robin good morning, everybody least beautiful sunshine joining us as we can see from the shot from the east bay shoreline, you know sometimes at this time of day its all covered into that fog not this goaround just a little thin layer right there you can see on top of the blue bay behind us there temperatures how we stand 60s they have a pretty much moved to the east bay yet too much if these up to the north bay and 63 san jose of has always been telling us if youre in the sun, those a lot warmer and its just begun the day has yeah so lets go the satellite radar cut this is kind of interesting here lets talk about this tropical system just yesterday kind of falling apart and all that moisture kind of has drifted along our coast and its in Southern California now and something has to be done with that moisture so were getting some rain out of it a little bit throughout the mountains of Southern California. Theres the lake fire going on weve been talking about a little bit and maybe with this stream coming theyll be that little hope of may be helping out a little bit. However, the pops arturo great with this and there is that outside concern too that you can spark off sometimes isolated Thunder Showers with all of that as well a little closer inspection of whats going on here. It is you can see going up against the mountains a little bit. And again that sometimes drives the instability little bit to get some thundershower activity want to talk about this tropical system in the Atlantic Real i said were going to become a Tropical Storm it did drop down to tropical depression strength expected to become a Tropical Storm again it looks like this afternoon, however, before begins to threaten the u. S. Mainland its taking a turn as well that looks good. It looks like its going to drop to tropical depression strength yet again well follow it see what happens there future cast for with this moisture coming in from our decaying tropical system you see couple little echoes of rain there passing by monterey bay. This takes us into this evening. Most of the cloud covers to our south but were just throwing in the forecast a little possibility, theyre stuck in the south bay. And then overnight. Tomorrow morning that will greet us we might have some interesting sunsets and sunrises tomorrow going on and then after thats all said and done its kind of quote smooth sailing for heat spike going on for your friday saturday and lingering a little bit on sunday. Todays effort 100 fresno wanted to bakersfield 98 for sacramento, even a 99 up there to reading some east bay communities the far east bay, well see numbers somewhat similar to that 73 San Francisco 88 san diego so lets get to it your 4 zone forecast for your thursday, 73 San Francisco to the coast were into 60s and near 70 or so. Meanwhile on the bay side 83 for burlingame 75 for san bruno down to the south here a lot of 80s in place palo alto at 91. Redwood city 8985 from Mountain View in the south bay 90s in place and theyre going to be included also and that excessive heat warning if it gets that upgrade a warning 99 for morgan hill east bay shoreline to the south upper 80s tri valley upper 90s 95 for dublin, 99 for walnut creek. And meanwhile, 1, 1, 4 conquered 77 for berkeley and 78 for richmond. Really nice around the be over on the coast a bit of you in the bay side if you get some of that breeze going 100 vacaville 89 for napa 94 for santa rosa with some lower 90s heading down south 74 stenson beach. So here it is in your sevenday forecast the extended one 02 born on for your friday and into saturday, 100 plus we reduced those temperatures to the middle 90s is that seasonality if you will as we get into early next week checking the area roadways. Robin whats happened. Well its a pretty crowded out there. We have lots of a busy traffic on our bridges for checking 80 west into San Francisco and traffic just never recovered from an earlier problem, so if you need to use it nothing going on westbound but it is stacked up just about from the bottom of the maze, the lower deck eastbound before you leave San Francisco. Little bit closer to treasure island, im just getting word of a multi vehicle accident maybe 7 cars involved here, the left lane is blocked so heading out of San Francisco eastbound expect major delays on the lower deck and the skyway and now that backup is spilling over to north one oh one ill take a closer look at that coming up a little bit later lets check out some more bridges we have the golden gate were doing fine traffic looks great here smooth at the limit in both directions so no problems into or out of San Francisco. And we have one more yeah, the richmond sandra fell there. It is you still have some crowding here the pay gates. This is completely normal its stop and go from richmond parkway to just shy of mid span marty. Ok robin back to the news this morning, one person is in the hospital after shots were fired in San Franciscos soma neighborhood. Police say the victim was hit yesterday afternoon near mission and 4th streets. They dont have any details this morning on their condition. But police say they have detained one person, but they say this investigation is still ongoing. Now to the east bay where Oakland Police are linking a recent surge in gun violence to conflicts among various gangs as Gang Violence has killed 5 people in as many days in oakland. You can see on your screen with a different shootings have happened this year 51 people have been killed in oakland homicides and thats 5 times more or 5 more than the same time one year ago. Police say they struggle to continue the gang mediation meetings that theyve been conducting before the pandemic they say the same type of dramatic spikes in homicides have also happened in other cities, including Austin San Antonio and denver.
